Difficult to take it seriously when it has this inaccurate statementHumans are the most resilient species on the face of the earth
Why is it an inaccurate statement then Col?

I just copied and pasted from our training literature. I just needed to put it across not to mess with Nitrogen, thats all. Most people think its harmless cos we breathe it every day.

Can we start with another word game. This one is for the longest words you can find. They must have a meaning and be real words. Lets start with one shall we:
PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCOPICSILICOVOLCANOCONIOSIS (45 letters; a lung disease caused by breathing in certain particles)

Once we have relocated the chroming shop, we are going to be able to chrome plastics.
It wont be until the new year though, so if you can wait :winky:

Im gonna have some pieces made so I can still keep my pre-cats. Im staying on the safe side just in case of MOT problems - and dont forget the emission laws change next year (so Ive been told), so it may be prudent to keep them for MOT time, and then whip the buggers off again straight after

6-3-1 will be very tight in the space available, the collectors will be .in my opinion sitting 2 close to the bodywork, creating a hot spot on the paint.
i looked into doing this configuration on the race car
Why not use Thermoshield Wrap

so far have checked (and oiled) the bypass assembly and is fully free flowing. i will have to wait till tonight before trying to check the fron hoses.
Will changing my hoses to the TDi silicone ones help lessen the chance of future slippage?
Will also try re-tightening the pully belt to make sure its not that. althought the noise does seem to be predomenantly on the left hand side when driving. will focus my attention there.
Are there any kind of sealant/lubes that will help seal better when putting the sleves back on?
I think you would suffer pressure loss in any gear if you were loosing pressure through a hose. Im not an expert by a long chalk, but as the s/c is driven directly by the crank, the demand for air is governed by the throttle, but the supply of air is governed by the crank speed. Looking at it, I think it could be more likely your belt that has stretched. If your belt is slipping this would cause the noises you hear. The reason why it doesnt happen in the bottom gears could be because in 5th and 6th the crank is rotating slightly slower so when the engine is running high the belt grabs a bit better. - Just a theory - tell me to shut up if Im waffling :P

Thats my problem, I dont know how to remove any of the cover to gain access to the bulb or anything inside
-
I have a problem with my map reading light. The switch doesnt seem to work. If I press the switch in and out really fast the bulb flickers and comes on for about half a second, so I know the bulb is OK. I cant seem to find how the unit comes out so I can check it over. Anyone have any ideas??

Im defo interested in this. Koblenz is a beautiful part of Germany, right on the Rhine, with a fab Castle on a cliff, and ACE beer. I went there about 10 years ago for the Rhine in Flames festival.
I would be interested in this trip Ken, dependent on cost obviously, and Im not entirely sure about my work committments yet, but I would love to come for it if I can.
For Southern members the costs are £50 return for the ferry, aprox 100 euro's for the 3 nights in the hotel plus petrol, food & drink and your laps round the ring.
Northerner's as above except the ferry will be around £160 to £190 depending on numbers but i'll be saving 720 miles off the trip so pays for itself in petrol by not going down to Dover and crossing over their.
Thats excellent - we need to book early though cos with it being easter time, the costs will go up nearer the time !
My misses says Im allowed to go aswell - dont know wots up with her !

As far as I am aware, the name on a logbook is not necessarily the owner, just the registered keeper.
I have also been told from a mate of mine in the insurance industry, that they are soon to be clamping down on these young lads with fast cars insuring them on their dads policies. I dont understand how they will enforce it, but all I know is, that when my lad passes his test and I buy him his first car (corsa 1.2 or something), I aint having him on my insurance he can get his own.

Im trying to locate a schematic or sketch or better still, the fitting instructions for the TTE Compressor.
Im particularly interested in the ECU wiring plan, but the whole lot is important if I can find some.
I also need, if there is such a thing a drawing showing the internals of the compressor itself, as I need to dismantle it for chroming.

Mine is exactly the same. I get that awfull damp smell aswell. Ive checked my filter behind the glove box, and that is OK. Perhaps its just a build up from wet shoes, damp carpets and hot air from our lass !

I like the standard Sport Spoiler, its just enough. Mind you, when I get my wide boy kit fitted I might have to have one of those high level wings put on
-
I cant find the gold button either !, or the pull down menus for the sponsors etc, but it looks cool, nice job. Everyone is bitchin over on Keepcruizin.net, cos they have done exactly the same !!

Not sure where its leaking from all they said was it was leaking. Just called them and queried it and they admitted that it migh need the belt changing after all. Amazing what a difference 5 minutes and a bit of knowledge can do. They will re-quote. The other thing they said was the frame needs re-allignment, which can take up to another 2 hours and £180. Ergonomic machine required apparently??? Can any Lexus dealer be trusted?
What Frame?
Ergonomic Machine = Bahco 12" Adjustable and a sweaty Mechanic.
Sounds like theyre pulling a fast one to me !

I think it would look very nice.
To get the full effect discard the bonnet to enable max air cooling of all the anodised covers.
By doing this you will also enable everyone to see your pride and joy as well as the service station attendants you ask to check your oil every 50 miles or so.
The bonnet may be worth a quid or two at Steptoe and Son which will offset your anodising costs.
Perhaps if you sliced the roof of it would also give a beter view of the leather upholstery from outside the vehicle and give you another three or four quid in scrap.
If this doesnt succeed get a Holden Import from Aus.
Cheers, Bri.
WTF ?
WTF indeed?
Good idea though - now wheres my grinder

He did the Scunthorpe Baths every now and again, especially the Rock Open competition, I met him once, and was a true gent. He was a true pioneer of modern music, and loads and loads of bands and artistes owe their success to this man. He will be missed.
