  1. Open your doors and give your door seals a good inspection. Make sure they are seated correctly and that there are no kinks or folds which could cause air to whistle through.

Give em a good clean and spray some silicone on them.

If that doesn't cure it, well I aint got a clue.

I know I get the same problem, but its from a rear quart light rubber, my glass is kinda loose :crybaby:

  2. Has anyone seen these 12v electric chargers for sale on eBay?

Essentially, and in theoretical terms, they may work......a little bit. It is a small unit which sits behind the air intake and compresses the air being delivered to the filter, which in theory should give a small increase in power, perhaps better acceleration and throttle response.

I think I might buy one, they are going rather cheap, about 50 quid, just to experiment with. They might increase the delivery of cold air to the plenum when used in conjunction with an induction kit, site it right behind the filter.........

Im always interested in gadgets like this, I cant see straight away if one would have any adverse effect on an engine, other than the demand for free flowing air at high speed being more than the mini-compressor can supply....

In theory, it should work, any comments people........

  3. How many are coming from up north, us northerners can travel down in convoy, and meet up with everyone else, and have a super convoy.........Bit like the canonball run ! Old Jezza wont know whats hit him...

Can I suggest several meeting points along the M1, M25 and A3 for peepee stops and re-grouping/fueling up etc?

  4. I will be there, defo

As a gesture of kindness, I shall let my second ticket go to someone else, any ways my misses will only moan at me all day............. does me head in when she moans.......

    See you all there.

  5. I dont think an induction kit that fits to the back of the air scoop would be really feasable. Where would you put the cone filter?

The filter needs to be at the front for maximum potential. These airboxes are restrictive cos the cool air get slowed down by the filter in the box before it goes into business. With the free flowing cone at the front, the air is twisted into a turbine effect behind it and hits your plenum cooler and faster than with the box.

  6. I saw my first IS200 when I was the tender age of 33. At that time, I had nothing but a rusted out broken down banger, crap job, no prospects, usual sad stuff.

The moment I saw that car I promised myself that some day I shall own one of those.

I wish now that I had seen that car sooner.

Dont you worry about what your Kevin and Perry Mates say to you. You are a winner, you must be to own such a fab car at your age. The are just jealous of you cos they run french muck. :D

  7. Address of Edge Tuning:

If you get a minute or two, pop into the shop and have a look, report back if you like, it would be interesting. I would go but Im in Scunthorpe, about an hour away.

  8. I spoke to Pipercross yesterday, the kits havent been put into production yet, maybe another month or so before they are available. I couldn't pre-order one either, so because I am extremely impatient, ive ordered a Trust one from elsewhere......

But with my experiences of pipercross in the past, they will be very good.....

  9. I would have thought it would, after a time the internal finish of the glass fibre would decay and break down and your engine would start eating glass fibres and chunks of resin !! Not good.

Anyway, Ive just ordered a kit from Edge Tuning in Leeds, very helpful. Ive ordered the Trust Airinx B Type for 1G-FE, the whole lot including postage was a mere 145.00 quid. Apparently they are good systems. We shall see.......

  10. well its carbon fibre on the outside but truth be told its fibreglass on the inside! but it looks great. altho i had to drill it to mount the air temperature sensor.

Thats Interesting...... Surely the fibreglass on the inside isnt silky smooth?

In my old days of modding the V6 Essex & Cologne Engines :yack: we used to make our own induction kits. We experimented with all sorts of things, including fibreglass tube, which was rough on the inside. We found that the smoother the bore of the tube, the greater the airflow? We found that any obsticle in the flow of air, caused a change, and the idea is, to get the air "spinning" in order to accelerate the flow of air into the plenum. Any roughness reduced the spinning effect and caused it to tumble which caused resistence. These theories were proven on a flow bench that we made. Sharp bends and welds that have penetrated too much internally and not ground back also have the same effect.

I might me wrong in this instance, as technology has developed just a tad since the days of the Capri :whistling: but just a thought, thats all.
