  1. Autodoc for the discs (brembo) much much cheaper than from Lexus, just had a look and they're about £85 each. I bought EBC front pads and got a set of Lexus rears off eBay.....
  2. wouldn't make any difference if it was 2005 or 2024, the Nav in both my Lexus, couldn't find its own arse with both hands......
  3. column stalks are the "wrong way round" must admit I had started looking at importing a JDM GSF with the current prices of GSF's here. There was a white one a couple of months ago, 90k miles equivalent, cosmetically needed some work, sold for £12k. then there be shipping and taxes etc......
  4. To save replying to both threads - can almost guarantee that there will be a caveat in the dealer T+C's that will give them a get out on the (exact) spec of the car, and that it is up to the buyer to check and confirm this before purchasing. As a previous reply has said, the difference between having ML and not, on the price of a used car will be zip. and for the AVS out of the 65 (according to how many left!) GSF's registered in the UK 45 registered in 2016, 10 in 2017, 6 in 2018, and 4 2019. So even if the 2017 cars were all built after dec 2016 when AVS was made std, there's a maximum of 20 GSF's in the UK with the system. and again if there were 2 similar 2017 cars for sale with and without AVS - I would guess the price would be the same.
  5. when I had my ISF I ran an all square 10x19 with 255/35/19 Bridgestone blizzaks. Wheels were Lined Corsa LC818. I bought the wheels from the guy (IIRC) from Fensport who had them on his car. Ran with no spacers etc, and were fine, no rubbing catching on lock etc. Car was my daily at the time - coped great in all the crappy winter weather.
  6. Went April 2023. bought a new 911 carerra T which was to be my daily. but needed a dog carrier as our Ipace packed up again, and its replacement was delayed. So bought the RS4. must admit miss the GSF. Would have another 100%.
  7. x3 on Newcastle Lexus. Used them for 7 years on the ISF and the GSF and had no problems whatsoever with the service and any warranty issues.... (there weren't any.....) Most used car warranties, and those out of Manufacturers new car warranty period are insured policies run by 3rd parties, and endorsed by the manufacturer. The cover is not the same as the new car warranty. I'd expect if the wheel has corroded or for instance the carbon trim delamination issues on the GSF under the original 3 year warranty I'd expect these would be replaced. Under the relax or even a Lexus paid warranty it wouldn't be covered. However if something big goes pop - I'm sure a FLSH and the relax warranty would go a long way to fix it. And hence continuing with the service regime at Lexus is worth it. I needed an estate car earlier this year, and in a moment of madness bought an Audi b8 RS4. Lovely thing. Low miles, FASH 1 previous owner - but went in with my eyes wide open. Thought about an Audi approved warranty - as the car still can be covered - £2500. per year. This is for the full cover and would cover the DRC suspension. There is a named component option which would have been £1600 but I think a slush fund to be honest is the better option and risk. Guess you pays your money...... I don't rely on it as my only means of getting around so if it breaks, there's no rush in getting it fixed. It might have been a different story if it was my daily.
  8. 69.99mph on the A1 just north of Darlington. Downhill, with a following wind.
  9. Your man maths aren't bad.... but even washing machine leased from vauxhall/citroen/peugeot/kia* et al (*delete where applicable) has to be maintained to manufacturers recommendations to comply with the lease, taxed and insured. The largest additional cost (frankly ridiculous) after purchase, compared to the leased sh*tboxes is the road tax. However the lease cost for the white goods cars essentially is depreciation, which for the right ISF / GSF (and some RCF's) is glacial now at worst, and is the biggest cost in new and new(ish) car ownership. So actually it'll probably be cheaper running and using the ISF, than the hoover with wheels, and if you look after the ISF there will always be a strong demand for the right car, in the right colour with good history, if you decide to move it on. I look back and prior to the Lexus' I had, I ran a v10 M5 estate, as a daily, wonderful but flawed car. Drank like George Best out on a bender with Oliver Reed. 5 years old when I bought it. Even with it's insatiable thirst 13 mpg on the school run, a need for a BMW warranty at £150 per month (it did have £9000 of warranty claims in 2 years), and wallet shrinking servicing costs - it was cheaper to run per mile than the Merc e350 diesel estate, which was "bought" new that preceded it. Because it didn't depreciate, and it was a similar story with my ISF or GSF, and I know which I'd rather have. Keep the ISF right and enjoy it as you say, life is far too short.
  10. Fair play to the sales staff at Swindon if they got anywhere near the asking price! and hope they paid the ex-owner a decent price too.... It is top of the pile for a GSF, and obviously there was a buyer looking for that exact car that made the deal click. The market today for large engined (4L+) thirsty super saloons is limited, and they're a dying breed. The right example will always find a buyer, only cars with the right provenance low mileage, low owners, faultless history etc etc etc, will see prices rise. Those cars that have been used, loved and past through many hands will just get caught up in the mix. In my opinion the GSF will probably fair better than the others, due to its rarity (hopefully for the owners) However rarity doesn't always guarantee a sale. My brother has a 1 previous owner merc c63 507 Saloon black on black for sale <35k miles and is mint, priced sensibly - a proper unicorn. Not even a nibble. Time will tell for the F's.
  11. Was that straight out of "car sales 101"?
  12. Only if you're a dealer taking your £4-5k margin into consideration......
  13. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lexus&model=GS F&page=1&postcode=ne34ux&flrfc=1#202402096399021 fair price for the age, mileage and owners...... I'm looking for a run-around......!!!
  14. 👆+1. Had a bloody nightmare with the dancing tyre fitter lot when they tried to fit and recode a new TPMS. Clowns. Blamed the car. Went to Lexus - done in 10 mins.
  15. wow, that's a serious chunk of cash for a 4 1/2 year old car. In today's market I expect that will stick around for a while at that price...... or it will be discounted fairly quickly to move it on.
