  1. Thinking about it it may cover a huge area. Those two extra digits could be over 600 postcodes. AA, AB to ZZ.
  2. That's probably right but there's two more digits that may cover a 5 mile radius in the middle of nowhere. I often get instructions like, postcode XX1 1YY and you'll see our Landrover at the top of the hill. TomTom gets me there, Lexus doesn't. :( It's great in town but these don't live in town. :)
  3. You can't do a full postcode search. Only the first part then it will list all the streets etc in that postcode area and then you choose from the list the exact one you want. Not a very good search system actually. Many of the places I visit are in the middle of nowhere, up single track roads. A full seven digit postcode search generally puts us within a couple of hundred yards from where we ought to be. Four digits covers miles and we have no street names to get us closer. I had a Chinese set up in my old BMW, it did Bluetooth, USB, DVD, Rev camera and always got us to where we wanted to be for £400, it even had Freeview, I'm not impressed with Lexus at all
  4. I found my answer here, http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/49824-no-postcode-search-on-satnav-se-l-without-a-wood-trim/ . It looks like I'm taking the TomTom for back up. Pretty poor really.
  5. Just bought a disc from here for £40- http://satnavdiscsale.com/lexus-2015-e19-sat-nav-update-for-all-generation-3-and-5-tns600-and-700-126-p.asp The maps are actually 2014 but it does update the software so it can be used on the move. However, the main reason I updated is, I'm not happy with inputting post codes. I'm going to Fountains Abbey on Monday to photograph the rut. The postcode is HG4 3DY. When I punch it in I get to HG4 space and there are no more options. This is the same for all codes, I'm obviously doing something wrong. Any ideas?
  6. Lexus do cheaper services for older cars. The 80,000 service on my 2008 GS450hwas £399.
  7. If the coolant level is dropping it must be going somewhere. Check your oil level, if it's over max, that's where your missing coolant may be. Also check your exhaust for steam.
  8. I leave my car in the garage for two or three weeks on a regular basis, without any problems. If yours is a problem, I would suggest it's time to change your 12v battery. The battery in my old BMW would discharge in two weeks. I changed it and found I could leave it for a month with no problems.
  9. You'd be better off finding an independent. My experience of main dealers is they're OK with nuts and bolts but paintwork is another thing. I once had my Saab repaired by the dealer and told him after, that I was undecided which colour I liked best, the original or the new. After another attempt, they repainted the whole car.
  10. I don't know Michael, the software only arrived yesterday and I loaded it on an old laptop. After the heath check, I tried to program a new key but the battery went flat. I've ordered a new battery so I'll play some more when it arrives. Just for the record here's the software I bought. Easy install and works fine. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321683705199?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  11. Did Health check on all ECUs using Tech Stream. All OK, happy days. :)
  12. I don't think you can change individual cells in the traction battery. There's a guy in Northampton does a reconditioned unit for £800, so it needs to be at least £1000 below book price.
  13. Or I may try these. http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/alutec/burnside/silver/18-inch Cheaper than refurb. Made in Germany to ISO specs and tested with many different Tyre pressure sensors both OEM and aftermarket..
  14. My 2008 GS450h are quite badly corroded and have kerb damage too. It's £380 to refurbish them, so I may just buy a set of these instead. http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/wolfrace/assassin/silver/18-inch
  15. Got my renewal from Hastings this morning, £586. I told them to stuff it and went with LV for £398.
  16. I'm getting happier by the day. I may even change my profile pic to one with me wearing a Lexus hat. :)
  17. Just had a call from Lexus Bolton They're on the way with my calipers. 80 mile round trip, you can't fault it. :)
  18. I phoned Lexus in Bolton today to order a new rear calliper. I was surprised that they did non Lexus parts for £89 apiece, so I decided to order a pair. I was about to give the guy my card number, when he said, just pay when you pick them up. I said I'd have to have them delivered as my car was in pieces and it's an 80 mile round trip from Blackpool. Guess what, they don't deliver. Can you believe it. I spoke to the manager and he says he'll try to get some to me but can't promise. What sort of business is this, do other Lexus dealers not deliver? I'm beginning to regret buying a Lexus.
