  1. Just see that everyone is talking about version D firmware, but in fact I have VC03103D while this is VC03101F. So I guess it is an incompatibility issue.
  2. From a very friendly forum member I got the VC03101F firmware. Several people here in the forum shared it and from what I read almost everyone says it is more stable and works just better. So I have been trying to do an update, the regular way via software update did not work. so I used the alternative method via the diagnostics menu (press and hold menu button and switch lights from on to off 3 times). the firmware loads, but finally I have no option to proceed. (only the back option, others are greyed out) Did some of you run into this issue? Screenshot attached.
  3. a siri integration would be nice, such as Mercedes in doing. I think it is pretty obvious that this is one of Lexus' weaknesses, the entertainment system is a decade behind the competition. But in all fairness, the sound quality is amazing. My car-phone combination works for the most important things (calls), and given that software releases are still being released, i have good hope that the features that are implemented will work better in time.
  4. Yes. you might be right, but by implementing a feature like this you set expectations, expectations that are not going to be met. so either you create a feature that works for the majority of the people, or you don't waste your time on it because only a few can use the feature. i think lexus would have been better of with the latter, now it only causes frustration really.
  5. I am on version D and found at first that my iPhone 6 worked well with SMS'es. Pity that nobody uses SMS anymore these days. After checking the Lexus site on bluetooth compatibility I found that one of the few phones that should work are Blackberry 10 phones. I happen to have a Blackberry passport as well and yes it works. kindof. I am pretty sure it works well from the Blackberry side (btw it is a great phone with incredibly stable software), but the car is struggling. the software (version D) is flaky and buggy on this. The email browse window starts with a strange error that messages can't be loaded, but then the latest emails are populated. the user interface buttons don't really work and the only option you have is to exit the screen. when an email arrives it is not shown and not read out like SMS'es. Really, Lexus should have thought so much better about this feature. 90% of the phones are not supported and when you find a supported phone it shows that the implementation is really bad. not like premium brand should be. btw the D version of the firmware is still the official latest and is over a year old.
  6. Oops. started to investigate more after your tips and found that I had misconfigured my mifi router. before connecting to the internet it wants every device connecting to go through a login screen. I had not encountered this with my laptop because the login is not necessary on the computer you configure the device. So the behavior of the premium navigation is that it will try to connect to the internet via either connection, the one that is succesful it will work with. the firmware version D is may be not so stable with regards to connectivity. I witnessed a reboot of the system after forcing it to connect to the wifi network.
  7. i have a DOD LS460 dashcam, works great. just wondering where you guys 'tap' the 12volts from?
  8. I've my new IS300h since about three weeks. It is a nice car, and my third Lexus (used to have 2nd gen IS250 and 3rd gen GS430). My IS300h is equipped with the premium navigation system, but I am struggling with the traffic information (via Internet, not TMC). My phone (iPhone 6+) is paired to my car and it works flawless. For traffic information I need to put the phone in hotspot mode, then the car gets then all the information it needs. I also have a MiFi router in the car (not the one from Lexus, but in essence the same). For those who don't know what it is: a MiFi router is a wifi access point with a 3g/4g cellular connection). So basically my car has two ways to connect to the Internet; but unfortunately the MiFi connection, with the better cellular network, is never used. I would like to configure the car that the phone is not used and only the wifi connection is used for traffic information & Internet. As said the MiFi router connects to a network with better coverage. I tried switching off the hotspot mode on the phone, hoping that the car would recognize that the connection is 'dead' but thats not happening, no traffic information is coming thru. I have browsed through the menu's of the car, but nowhere I see an option of a preferred communication method or a priority setting. The problem is probably partly related to the iPhone, which likely advertised tethering as a service while pairing to the car via Bluetooth. Oh btw. the firmware installed is VC03101D, somebody was friendly enough to share version F with me, but there is no way that my car would accept this new version, even not via the special diagnostics menu
