  1. Thank's guys. :) Don't think I'll bother with it now seeing as it'd be expensive, would have been nice to do but as I said was't essential! So if the need arises that I need one I'll just use my phone by the looks of things!
  2. I've a 2000 Mk4 LS400 and wondering the best way to update the sat-nav, as currently i don't think it's ever been updated going by the roads it's missing! As a hole I don't use sat-nav's, but since it's in the car I've seen how out of date it is, with entire parts of towns in my local area missing! I've though of taking it to a dealer and see if they can update it? But The nearest to me is Edinburgh (150 miles away), and no sure how much it could cost... The other option I've though would be to try and find a disc to update it with. It's not essential i'll be honest, but just interested to see if it'd be worth doing. Thanks in advance! :)
  3. Thanks! Just wanted to be sure the 430 ones would be fine, rather than find out after i'd bought a set. :) Just need to find a set now.
  4. I've been looking at wheels for my Mk4 LS400, I considered some aftermarket ones, but most of them I felt looked out of place on the car, or would only suit it if i stanced the car. After seeing a nice gold LS430 in Inverness the other day I could't help but think that the 7 spoke ones would give the car a good OEM look! I currently have the original 5 spoke ones on. Has anyone here done this? Or know if i'd need to anything like spacers, etc? Thanks in advance. :)
  5. I'd never have though of the screen wash low light (never knew it had one) as never had a car with it before. With the power steering pipes, I'll be keeping an eye on them as mine are a bit rusty, but may get round to changing them just for peace of mind! Thanks again guys! :)
  6. Thats for the response guys! :D When i took the plastic engine cover off last week I was starting to think that the filters and such would maybe be a problem, and being an upmarket car thought the same would be the case with the brakes, but thankfully it doesn't seem so going by what you's are all saying. Admittedly the Sat-Nav is't a huge must, as I don't really use them and I've got a portable one which I use in my Civic & Cappuccino, but did see when I was visiting the parents last week a few roads weren't showing up and though it'd be handy to update if possible. Never though to check the spare wheel area, was going to be giving the spare wheel a quick check to see if it needed pumped up a bit so can kill two birds with one stone there! As well as checking the moonroof, as never actually had tryed it yet (bad experience in the past with one jamming open at the worst times!) so if the weather's kind, same for that! Sadly no money left under the seats, but thankfully have all the original book's from new including the owners CD! And torch is missing from the toolkit (rest is there) but i always carry a tool bag that has most thing needed if the time arises. I'll get more pictures up here once I've had the weather to give her a quick wash. :)
  7. Hello. I've only had my LS400 for a few week's, and been enjoying every bit of it. But was wanting to know a few things. Before I bought I did some research on common fault's(Suspension ball joints and exhaust was the main 2 thing's to crop up) but was interested in knowing a few other things I was hoping other owners would know. So here's the question: Is it recommended to use premium fuel regularly? Is it easy to do a basic service on it yourself ? (Oil, spark plugs, filters) How easy is it to change the brakes? (Disc/pads) Can you still update the sat-nav system? Are sun-roof's prone to rusting/breaking easily? It's a 2000 model LS400 I've got. Thank's in advance for any answers! :)
  8. Thanks guys! I can't get over how clean it is mechanically and if the fuel prices stay low I'll be keeping her for a while! :) Got a few thing's i'm needing to sort out body wise, and a few thing's i'm wanting to chance, but other than that it's perfect!
  9. Hello. I recently became an owner of a W-Reg LS400, and i'm loving it! I've wanted to get a big saloon for years, and finally decided to take the plunge 3 weeks ago when a friend decided to sell his, and I've fallen for it since! Not the first choice of car for a 21 year old as you can guess, but the luxurious interior and bold exterior are great. It's the first time I've driven an auto and I've warmed to it, and the engine is fantastic! :) A real contrast to my Suzuki Cappuccino I've been using the past few months! It's covered just over 95,000 miles and has had full Lexus service history up until a few years ago, when it was undertaken by a local garage. It's 2 tone grey with black leather, and 5 spoke alloys. Sadly it needs the driver's side ball joint done (Can't remember offhand which one exactly), and has normal age related mark's on the bodywork. The last owner had a custom exhaust put on, giving it a nice V8 sound while not too loud unless made to do so. Overall reaction from friends and family on it is great as well, giving my friends a surprise with just how quick it is! Only problems I've had is remembering the size of it when in traffic and for parking! Can't wait to find out more on the car and hopefully stick around here! Just need to give her a good wash!
