  1. New bushes on way over from Japan... Plus have these to fit ...
  2. I have the codes for the front actives shocks for a 2008 450h... For some reason site won't allow me to attach the photo. 48520 - 30450 G36L This is the front left shock, the front right is G36R
  3. Ok, so my rear shocks are blown and will be an MOT failure... Time to replace but after seeing Lexus dealer prices for OEM parts I'm seriously thinking of fitting a full set of coilovers. Dissapointed I'll lose the in car adjustability of the dampeners but hopefully I can find a good balanced setting on the coilovers. Any recommendations for which coilovers to get? I'm currently looking at Tein Flex Z, HSD monopro and D2 racing (street) Do we have any suppliers on here offering club discounts etc? :)
  4. Well to provide an update on this if anyone is interested... Both front lower rear wishbone bushes have completely perished and the NS tyre has some bad wear from the previous bad allignment. Garage reckons this may be the cause of the pull to the left... Also to rub salt in the wound both rear shocks are leaking. Big bills coming :(
  5. Thanks for the suggestion but I actually dropped the pressure from 40 in the fronts (previous owner) to 36... Fault was there at both pressures.
  6. I'm hoping someone may be able to help... My car is constantly pulling slightly to the left, I'm having to steer to the right to keep it straight. I had the tracking adjusted and getting green across the board. All 4 tyres are good and pressures are as they should be 36/38. Suspension has been replaced with known good OEM parts and drives great with noticeable difference between normal and sport. No knocks or bangs, all bushes and ball joints seem ok None of the wheels seem hotter than the others after a good drive and can't hear of feel any play in the wheel bearings... Ive read a few posts about zero point calibration and resetting steering ECU?? How is this done? Before the tracking the steering wheel was off center quite a good bit. Also, and I don't know if related, anything above 60mph the car seems to wander, requiring constant correction to the steering... And finally, every now and then, mainly after driving on motorway the steering wheel/shaft seems to stick a little for a second taking away that smooth Lexus experience... Im wondering if all the above are related somehow but so far I'm baffled! Ay help much appreciated :)
  7. Due to budget constraints I didn't get my desired specification or condition but I did get one... It's a 2008 facelift model SE in silver with black leather interior and dark wood (not sure the name) It has 152000 miles and although the interior doesn't reflect that the outside is showing its age unfortunately. At least the OEM wheels have had a refurb not so long ago so still looking fairly fresh. Surprised how quick it is, especially compared to the two GS430s I've had previously. It needs some urgent jobs doing asap. Front right shock is knackered (have a replacement to fit) and exhaust is blowing so will fit a stainless system, probably by Tony Banks A few cosmetic issues to sort but they can wait for a little bit. The hybrid system is taking a little time to get used to, along with the CVT box (honestly not too keen on that) So, hello :) and I'm back in my 3rd GS
  8. I'm looking to buy one shortly as a daily driver (I've previously owned a mk2 430 and mk3 430) Due to budget I'm looking at a 2008 model with 150k miles. It has Lexus history up to 130k miles and a hybrid check last year. Just 2 owners and seems in good condition with fresh MOT. My friend has checked the hybrid battery voltage and all cells seemed good (15.9 - 16.07v) Is £4500 so in current market not too bad I thought? Would the mileage put you off?
  9. What about getting a set of aftermarket springs? Might lower the ride height a little as well (if you'd be happy with that) Probably get 4 new springs for the price of one OEM item from Lexus. .. Alternatively, try sewells in Billingham, they normally have a decent supply of aftermarket springs...
  10. I imagine it's slightly different on the heavier 450 but I'm running 33 all round on my 430 as advised by the door sticker. Do you not have this info on your door?
  11. Yup, go for a 430 :D Much better engines, more power, bettwe reliability and only slightly worse fuel consumption. ..
  12. Yeah the 300 bonet will be the same. Might look at repair options despite what lexus bodyshop said.
  13. To me it sounds like a coil pack. Had the same issue on a previous car, onl y happened when engine warmed up. I would suggest trying to find a second hand one and then go about swapping out coil packs one by one to try and find the offending item
  14. Apparantly after reviewing photos they say the corrosion has been caused due to stone chips. I disagreed Tough Any platinum silver bonnets for sale?
  15. I am having air con issues with mine and after getting a UV die test performed it was discovered that the condenser has a leak... I was quoted £250 which includes new condenser with warranty, fitment, air con service and regass.. I wonder if they maybe over pressurised yours revealing a weak spot in the condenser? £1080 is way too expensive
  16. I have contacted Lexus customer service and they are looking into it further. Said I should here something within 5 working days...
  17. After chasing the body shop up today, Lexus habe denied the claim saying it is based on stone chips even though there is no break in the paint! Need to take this further somehow...
  18. I like the idea of the presurised chamber :) I always check my pressures anyway so the TPMS is pointless for me.
  19. Thanks, also got a message from the last owner confirming it has the system fitted. .. Will swap the sensors over to avoid any annoying warning messages :) These are the wheels in question :)
  20. Actually thinking about it... Do I have TPMS?? I have a spare wheel in the boot... Am I worrying over nothing? :)
  21. Quick question, hope you can help... I am going to be fitting some 19in TOM'S wheels to my GS and wondered what to do about the TPMS... If I leave them in the 18in wheels is there a way of turning off the system so I don't get any warning lights etc? Or am I better just transferring them across as the TOMS wheels are TPMS compatible. ..
  22. I know this is an old thread but from what I have read (and I'm having the same issue) is that there is no rubber disc on top of the the rear spring so you get a bit of noise transfer through the shock. It's not a fault as such just a design isdue of the coilover. I was thinking of cutting a urethane disc to fit on top of the spring to maybe reduce the noise a little...
  23. I have mine to do, have managed to find replacement rear calipers at £80 each and fitting is pretty straight forward it before I do that I'll strip mine and try and refurbish them. Have rebuilt brakes many times on other cars in the past with great results so fingers crossed I have the same good fortune with these
  24. Had this on mine recently... Hold the tilt up button and the roof will tilt up, close, slide open then shut... It will be reset and work with one touch again
