  1. No comprendo or pardon is a perfectly acceptable reply to what was posted. When I first read it I genuinely didn't understand. Albert sir what do you think?
  2. You must be very sensitive if you are upset by someone saying Pardon!!
  3. Dear all, I am a first time poster and have a question. I have a Lexus is250 2006 with sat/nav. On the screen it says the external system is not connected. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Thanks in advance regards Albert.
  4. There is a Auto button for the mirrors if you have memory seats.
  5. Why is it rude to say you don't understand the question?
  6. On order from who? I don't think Lexus make them from aluminum, maybe a new MY part Or probably ABS made to look like alluminium?? Rearguards have them and imho make them for Lexus. I prefer black as it matches the bumper and compliments the Mesa Red. Aluminum or Carbon Fiber may look good on a white or silver car. Post some pics. Ed
  7. Very nice car in the best colour!! Mesa Red is known as Red Crystal Shine in Japan which is just what it does in the sunlight. Enjoy. Ed
  8. I agree FM seems to always have a background hiss whereas DAB does not. Bit rates are one thing but so is varying analogue reception at least DAB is either there or not. I only listed to BBC Dab stations so not the ones with the really low bit-rates. Ed
  9. I regularly have no data connection on my mobile so would not find streaming music a viable option. I doubt any mobile would pick up a data connection to be reliable enough?? On a recent trip to Wales for much of the journey there wasn't even a voice signal!! A USB stick packed with loads of tracks is more than enough though. Ed
  10. I posted a couple of days ago that I was 90% certain a Tesla would be next, the remaining 10% being SWMBO's input. Having had a discussion she put forward two or three "what if.." scenarios where I could be left needing to make an emergency journey and be left with insufficient charge. They revolved principally around my elderly mother who lives 100 miles away. I couldn't fault her logic, and whilst I am convinced electric is the way forward for me, until such time as I can have as much certainty about range and ease of refuelling as I have now, it's on the back burner. The time will come I'm sure, for me not just yet. My original plan was to move to an NX, having never had an SUV before and loving the Lexus service, quality etc etc - I've no need to go on about that. I was intending to start investigations in a view months time, but my dealer caught me at a weak moment and I've gone and bought this Front view.jpg Rear view.jpg Side view.jpg It's a brand new '65 plate, delivery miles, pan roof, AVS, Premium Nav, Sonic White & Rose leather interior. I pick it up on Monday or Wednesday depending on how quickly they can turn the paperwork and PDI around. No deal on price but 0% interest free credit for 2 years. A fair deal on my well loved 300h, and 20% discount on the service plan. I'm happy, SWMBO is in shock but what the hell, life's for living! That is stunning and what I may well look at when the fsport is up for change. Much more desirable than a Nissan Leaf!! A nice car is more imho than just a Consumer Durable. Enjoy it!!
  11. I watched the guy at our dealer "washing" customers cars. It was not a pretty sight. No care just blast & wipe. Never again. The interior "valet" is a wipe with a dirty rag & the quickest of vacuums. I enjoy owning a nice car so give it loads of tlc which pays off when time to change it. Maybe consider a full bumper respray? Solid black should not be to expensive. I had smart insurance and it has kept the bumper looking ok so far. Ed
  12. Because only I who spent my hard earned money on it will give it the attention it deserves. Polished, Topaz then a layer of Bouncers Check the Fleck. I avoid dealer washes as they strip off the wax with truck wash applied with a huge pressure washer and dry with a gritty rag which created swirl marks. Lexus paint is quite soft so easily damaged. Ed :ooh-ducky:
  13. So just stop & ask to plug into any random persons household supply? For free?? I will stick to my Hybrid thanks all the same!!
  14. Sometimes I want to sit in the car with he radio on & with he door open. Seems to be not possible without the door open chime bugging me. Ed
  15. The Hybrid drive is very reliable. There are Prius taxi`s with over 300k miles on them still running well with the original traction battery. I read a comparison of a 200k mile Prius with a new one and there was little difference noted in performance etc. It takes longer than a short test drive to appreciate the qualities of the is300h imho. Saying that I was impressed from the start that's why i bought one! Ed
  16. I think he was called Robert. Goodness he knows his job. A body shop with an oven could not have done it any better. Ed
  17. Smart repair completed today and it is a superb. Faultless. A very high quality invisible repair. Even if I only make one claim the Smart insurance has been worth having. Ed
  18. I am only having one chip/scuff done at present. The IS front bumper would have to be removed for a complete respray. No way masking the parking sensors or the washers or the drl`s would look acceptable. Depends on the level of perfection you want. I am a fussy so & so. I will see how the Smart repair turns out tomorrow. Ed
  19. I would not want my bumper sprayed if it was not removed and all lights removed rather than masking them up which usually causes a build up of paint along the edge. Maybe acceptable on a n old cheap car but not on my Lexus!! I worked near a pro body shop for a while and they always removed all lights ect from bumper apertures .They basically removed anything that could be replicating how the car was sprayed at the factory. They did a superb job but not cheap because they only did top end cars like Jags BMW & Lexus!! That is the advantage of a Smart repair over a back street cheap spray & pray type of place. I will excuse them the first repair mistake if the repair tomorrow is as good as they have assured me it will be. Ed
