  1. You is300h has HID headlights so doubt you will need to change a bulb. Osram Nightbreakers are incandescent filament bulbs not suitable for HID headlights. You could change the HID bulb if so desired it is a D4S. It would involve removing & dismantling the headlight unit. A lot of work for little if any gain. Ed
  2. I normally do a search first. Fair play to you for finding the solution. Ed :hohoho:
  3. Great news but why didn't you just do that at the start?
  4. Post a few pictures up. Which feeds, colour codes did you use?
  5. MPG is down to how you drive, how hard you accelerate how fast you go etc. I dont drive slow or fast but like to get going and try to stick to the speed limit. My IS300 averages 45mpg. On a 100 mile round trip yesterday mainly motorways keeping to the speed limit I averaged 53mpg. So less than two gallons of fuel for the journey. Had I pushed it to 85-90 mph as much of the other traffic was doing then it would drop to around 40mpg. No car is going to be economical driving around a town or city centre. Ed
  6. How did you get the emblem off the metal backing? I have got the parts now and cannot see any easy way of removing it without damaging the thing! Warm with a hair dryer and with a craft knife gently slide it between the emblem and the metal backing. Take it slowly and allow the heat to soften the adhesive. Gently does it. Good Luck Ed
  7. Found it!! I have mine set at 5 flashes. The lane change flasher can be adjusted from no flashes, 3, 5, or 7 flashes Adjustment procedure is: 1. Ignition OFF, hold the wiper switch in the all the way up (OFF) position, turn ignition ON, engine not running, and continue to hold the wiper switch in the OFF position for 5 seconds or more 2. Move wiper switch down 1 position and HOLD for 5 seconds or more 3. Move the wiper switch up to OFF position and hold for 5 seconds or more 4. Move wiper switch down 1 position and hold for 5 seconds or more 5. Release the wiper switch. The right turn signal should flash 1 time 6. Place the intermittent wiper rotary switch in one of the following 4 positions -P1 - all the way down = 3 flashes -P2 - 1 up from the bottom = 5 flashes -P3 - 2 up from the bottom = 7 flashes -P4 - All the way up = no flashes 7. Pull the turn signal switch down the lane change position (not the turn signal position) and release. The left turn signal should flash 2-4 times. 8. Turn the ignition OFF and then start the car and test.
  8. There is a thread somewhere.............I will have a search.................
  9. I have driven many different cars and the is300 is the first car that I have to manually cancel, agreed not after every turn but more than any other car. The lane change function is useful now I have set it to 7 flashes. Ed.
  10. Bluetooth can be temperamental. If it did work but then stopped I would still hard reset, which doesnt wipe any data, and try again. It working on the Qashqai is largely irrelevant. My Sony Z1 wouldn't connect until it had the latest firmware which wasn't released until a few weeks after I bought the car. I had given up trying. It now connects reliably every time. There was a list somewhere of which phones were compatible. As I said has it never connected & now doesn't or never worked? Good luck Ed
  11. It seems pretty clear to me. I agree though a bit odd, perhaps the same person who designed the indicators which dont self cancel!! Ed
  12. As long as you are happy with it. My Fsport had Superguard but it still looked better with a a layer of Bouncers wax applied. I wish I hadn't bothered with the Superguard imho a waste of money. Ed
  13. If it did work but has stopped then try a hard reset on the S6.
  14. Your car looks superb and Mesa Red really suits the IS300. Get a layer of wax on it and see how it sparkles in the sun. It is known as Red Crystal Shine in Japan. Ed :hohoho:

  16. The top rim is wider than the holder so cutting off 5mm at the bottom will not have any effect on how high it sits unfortunately.
  17. I used a small blob of JB Weld quick set epoxy. Good luck with it. Ed.
  18. I am not saying I beleive the claims either!!
  19. I never mentioned "drag racers"or "high" performance. I would though regard my Fsport as a sports saloon. It was mid range performance for joining the motorway that I was referring to. Ed.
  20. Yes I remember it, they drove a Prius flat out at over 100mph around a test track and then said a V8 M3 which is designed for driving at 150mph on the German autobahns had better mpg. An entertaining film but deeply flawed. I would not have thought anyone actually believed it!! The IS300h may not be a sports car as such but it has better acceleration than other cars in its segment. It has good road holding particularly in Fsport guise which also has a stiffened sports suspension. It certainly looks sporty. I once owned a 2 seater soft top sports car which was fun but it wasn't particularly fast but it didn't need to be. I drove home late last night through the back lanes and my IS300h Fsport was definately fun in sport mode and to hell with the MPG!! Ed
  21. Speculation. The IS300 in sport mode is not particularly economical. I am not convinced premium fuels make any difference but nobody knows for sure. Ed
  22. It is not specific to Lexus or the IS300h though as hardly any cars that use regular unleaded can advance their timing beyond the normal range to take advantage of premium fuel. Do we know for sure that the IS300 cannot advance its timing though? Some cars can from what I understand
  23. The cat loves premium!! It makes the emissions from the rear less pungent to. :yack: VW did a premium fuel test which did produce more bhp in a Golf. Not that VW would ever cheat in a test now would they.......
  24. Non premium cat food 4% meat or premium cat food 60 to 90% meat. Cats are carnivores so have to eat meat. What would you feed your cat? I avoid supermarket fuel if possible preferring BP Esso or Shell. Tesco had to replace a few engines due to some contamination not that long ago. Ed
  25. The dealer plates on my Fsport were not fitted very welll so I bought new ones and a couple of frames which use the threaded holes.
