  1. I've had mine for 16 months and plan on keeping it forever. I'm the 7th owner, first year of it's life it was owned by a Car magazine company who put 20'000 miles on it in 1 year, car has 114590 miles on it now with 11 services recorded in it's life, the 11th was a major one at 106400 miles costing £840, done the week before I picked it up from "Oxford car specialists" It is normal for cars like this to change owners a lot as previous owners are usually mad about cars and want to try something new and different, with the isf especially in America previous owners want back into the isf after trying something different because they missed the Lexus comfort and reliability that came with the fast, mad, split personality saloon that is the isf. Pics of my beasty just because. Oh and Happy New Year to you all and yours.
  2. 16 months and 8890 miles. 4 wheel tracking -£79 Have to add the following to make it look interesting. Rear tyres -£448 Front pads -£56
  3. All I've done is remove the short breather hose and plugged the holes with screws, will get pics tomorrow. Back in summer sitting in traffic I did notice a drop in power when I did get a chance to give the throttle a good prod but power came back once you were moving and cooler air was coming in through the slots in the inner wing next to the air box flap. Now in winter and it's averaging 4c during the day here in Scotland this diy mod gives you the maximum torque the engine can produce, the front of the car rises up at low revs. I need to do a cold air feed from front of car to air box and seal it so it doesn't suck air from engine compartment when sitting still. My miles per gallon are less after doing this.
  4. Done this to my isf back in spring, does sound better.
  5. Got the car back from Lexus Newbridge, Edinburgh. Airbag recall work done. Washed and valeted. Free safety check done. Coffee, bottle of water left in car cup holder. I put car in this morning with low fuel light on and get it back with half tank as part of there recall policy. Would recommend them highly if anyone needs taking care of. Great service.
  6. The beast in today for airbag recall and got this for the day, it's a softer ride but no throttle response and steering is slower but it's nice. 114500 miles on my 08 isf and a couple of thousand on this but my isf doesn't feel any older to drive. More buttons to play with in this. Got a safety report sent from lexus, email and video, stating nothing to report and a full list of things they checked all for free. Courtesy car looked as though it was driver through a pig farm when they gave it to me, so I've washed it for them as i was happy about getting a free safety check.
  7. Yes you can but you need to disable traction control and vehicle stability control, long press on traction control switch.
  8. The bonnet also looks off a bit, off side front corner.
  9. Paul, how does the rear bumper look to the naked eye? In the photo the rear off side gap looks to be more than it should.
  10. I did not read all the instructions and I think I had got all 7 but I posted them up for all to see, just like flat pack furniture, don't read instructions and screw up lol
  11. Never had my isf called a Avensis. Comments range from: Beefy On steroids Mean Don't F with me look about it Who gives a monkey's you have a turbo, yer still half my size These are regular comments made to me about the isf, so it does stand out and look the part.
  12. I did not use glue as this was more of a practice run, next week I'll do it again but I'll make the insert taller and stretch the leather a bit more, also repair the creases with a leather repair kit. Some pics of the passenger seat also starting to sag so will do that also. Painted the calipers red but next week going to do them blue to match stitching and f badge to see what that's like, also like the burnt orange as well. Desitions desitions
  13. Drivers side bolster collapsed about 6 months ago and was getting worse, almost flat. So last night I stripped it in the living room and repaired it with a old foam camping bed cut to shape, there is also metal supports inside which I bent inwards slightly and it's all nice and tight now.
  14. Car failed MOT today due to number plates not having a "BS number" or the name of the number plate manufacturer displayed, learn something new all the time. Back in tomorrow for a free retest with proper plates. Some advisories were; Large stone chip on windscreen passenger side, smaller than 10mm. Cut on inside tyre but not through to cord. Front break pads worn but not at limit, this I was aware of as I check myself. For 113038 miles not to bad.
  15. Was in Lexus Glasgow yesterday with the brother inlaw as he is purchasing a new "rc300h f sport". Wish I hadn't because I sat in there silver Rcf with red leather interior now I want one but they are still out of my budget. Had the wife and daughter sitting in the back seat with no problems, boot as big as the isf. The car is stunning, first time ever in one. The sales guy Russell, was friendly and knew his stuff who was dealing with us all. He told me there white Gsf demonstrator will be up for sale soon if anyone is after one as the silver Rcf will be there new demonstrator soon. Sat in the Gsf and started it up, sounds different to the isf, but I don't like the sloping bonnets that you can't see from the driving seat. You can see it in the isf and rcf stretching out in front of you. Anybody else thought they had a sexy car in the isf until they got close to and sat in a Rcf?
  16. This one was owned by a Car magazine firm for the first year of it's life for a long term test.
  17. Someone say Silver. 113000 miles and still very tight, suspension very stiff so no sagging with age lol One was sold in America recently with 333000 miles on it with no major faults recorded in it's history.
  18. Some more pics tonight as the weather is ok from top of Bathgate hill. The good wife in passenger seat. The isf looks good from every angle.
  19. Yes Paul, local kwik fit, they had it up in the air for almost an hour just being nosy looking at the cars set up and exhaust going wow, wow, 5.0L V8 wow, wow. Tyres are wearing perfectly, if anything the outside edge of front tyres a wee bit more on passenger side with all the roundabouts in Livingston lol They said all was very tight and no play in anything. They had a screen that customers could watch that displayed the adjustments being made, front end was perfect, rear end needed a wee bit done. Could be caused by cars power, torque output over time.
  20. Hi guys, can't believe I almost sold my beast about 4 weeks ago, pay all the money for 6 weeks advertising and after 1 week my amazing wife noticed I was suffering from car love and depression at the thought of the separation, so she insisted we keep it as she has a soft spot for it as well. I've just had tracking done, rear wheels needed adjusted, it was pulling left a tiny bit but now perfect. 112285 miles and even though I know through its life with 7 other owners it was occasionally driven hard, including myself, it feels like a new car and sounds like one. No rattles or squeaks. I've done about 5800 miles from last August when I got it and the oil has not got any lower on the dip stick. Gave it a wee wash and muscle rub with some Polish the other day.
