We diverted from the usuall Toyota, Lexus line and got a Dodge Nitro as the family wagon for dogs and camping, absolutely crap it was, cheap plastics, electrical faults, eats brake pads and tyres for breakfast. I was tricked by its looks. We recently got a 65 plate Toyota rav4 hybrid excel awd and it is a great all rounder for the price. We live on a hill and it was great to see it climb it through 6 inch of snow, it averages 40mpg with my gentle right foot. Compared to my isf it is very cheap to run. I miss my isf, it's been locked up since November for winter and probably wont get out until April. I'm going to start crying lol

Craig, it would be great to get as many F cars as possible to Santa Pod next year maybe, I'd love a go on a surface that allows our cars to really get the power down.

Hi Craig, rear seat base was 13lbs, I did not not have the back section out but they look to be built the same way, maybe back section is a about 15lbs due to the centre arm rest. The base pulls up at the front out of clips then slides forward, rear is bolted in place. The sound insulation under the carpet was soaking wet and the insulation that is glued to the carpet underside, all in the bin. Only putting back the very light carpet to make it presentable and hide my cheating lol Front seats are way to heavy for the drag strip or a track day, 59lbs each oof. Cant wait to get my Sparco GridQ seats, 20lbs each. I'm keeping rear seat for passengers.

Carpet on the line drying. All other padding and insulation binned. Carpet will go back in once shampooing is done. Going to work this morning can report it's not to noisy, so weight reduction will continue. Put the seats on the scales since they were out, 59lbs each lol. Will be replacing them with Sparco GridQ seats later at 20lbs each.

It almost reached the seats but lucky it did not, I've got all the carpeting on the drying line.

Weight reduction starts early due to getting caught with the M8 Motorway flooding at Shotts, Harthill area this morning.

To see the times better against the competition go to the "Crail Raceway" site and find the drivers times from Sunday. It gives you car details, 60 ft, 1/8th and so on, then click on each driver and it gives you all there times, then click on each of there runs and it will show you who they raced. Next month I aim for a 1.9 60 ft, and 12.5 quarter pass above 115mph. Got to have goals in life lol

Used manual mode, sport mode, traction control still on. 2 weeks ago I mashing the gas pedal and the car kills power a wee bit, Sunday past I was left foot braking and holding revs at 1150 and just before green light I would release the brake pedal that way I'm on the move same time as the green light then try to apply throttle over a period of about 1.5 seconds then just keep it hard on the floor and go up the gears right after the beep. MAF cleaning helped more in the second half of the quarter. Our cars are beasts on the strip at speeds from 2nd gear onwards, what ever time we can reduce our 60 foot by that time is trippled at the end.

Now to start weight reduction lol

Well, 2nd time at drag strip today was much better after cleaning MAF and throttle flap, my launches are better to. Still no weight reduction, car had spare wheel still. Mods are muffler delete. 285/30-19 bridgstone potenza re050a. I'm so happy getting into the 12s.

Yep fingers crossed for you, coolant to ATF is a internal breakage, that looks like a radiator failure and or ATF connection to radiator. Coolant to ATF is the one I'm dreading as I'm at 135000 miles.

Going back on the 9th of August if weather is dry, will have the same tyres on, bridgstone potenza re050a, going to be removing spare wheel and other stuff, clean MAF and block of intake area from sucking in heat from engine, plus find a quiet road and experiment with the 60ft times. On the day will be waiting with bonnet, hood up, to help cooling as you could feel the effect of heat soak. Spark plugs, Air filter, Oil filter, Engine oil are only 500 miles old. Will be posting here with any mods and drag times as I go forward with this new addiction. Lol

There was no way I done that many runs, just noticed some runs are listed twice.

The 18 seconds was traction control of, car done the first 100 feet sideways so it was never switched of again.

Times from today, unpreped surface. Its 2 pages, 1st page had first 4 runs, 2nd page also had first 4 runs so I folded them out the way.

Hi Kevin, great meeting you as well. I've got the bug now for the drag strip, I know our cars are not ideal but it will be some challenge over the years lol to hit the magic 10 seconds lol

Its tomorrow Steve, glad it's not today, the amount of rain here in Scotland the traction light would be flashing all day lol It's to be dry tomorrow, hope to get first run done about 1000hrs. Will post time after first run. No time slips due to covid regs, but hope times are on there website within a few days.

Hi Jon, my car has muffler delete, battery relocated to boot, 285/30 tyres on rear. All the rest stock. Weather is looking better now, patchy cloud, about 13c in morning and strip is at sea level. Fingers crossed for a 12 and a half pass.

Should be just under 13 sec, but the forecast is for rain so maybe a wee bit slower.

This Sunday the 26th will be first time at drag strip, hope the weather forecast for Anstruther changes by then. Any other UK owners been down a drag strip?

I went with Pagid discs and pads up front and Pagid pads with Brembo discs on back as Pagid dont make rear discs for our cars yet. Only 2000 miles on them so far so still biting nicely. It was because ECP were doing the usuall weekend deal, I payed £55 for both front discs and all pads were £42, rear brembo discs were £86 each. I will be fitting 2 piece rotors sometime next year before these discs are ready for replacement so I may avoid the noisy and crap performance phase.

I have destroyed a year old battery in this car storing over winter and tried to save it with a battery charger/ repairer. Dont store it anymore, just dont use it below 3c to avoid salty roads.

You may find the throttle response better in normal driving mode, if you are like me in normal mode I gently apply throttle and car learns this. Does not affect sport mode but makes sport mode feel even better after having lazy throttle.
