  1. Of course. Totally understand that. My wheels needed a refurb but I ended up buying some wheels that were as close to the originals I could find. I didn't want anything flash just a bit of an upgrade.
  2. If the sc wheels need refurbing as well, why not just get the Ls wheels done. At least you know they fit
  3. I've been with Adrian Flux for bike and car in the past and can't say I ever had a problem but then I never had to make a claim with them either.
  4. That's the sort of thing I've heard about so I seem to have had it easy compared to some.
  5. Just had my renewal through from Hastings direct and without any changes to my details, and due to price hikes it's gone up from £233.75 to £322.83 so an increase of £89.08. Obviously did the compare but found Hastings to still be the cheapest for me. I then went on top cashback and got £36 cashback so reducing it to £286.83. So all things considered, an increase on last year of £53.08. Still not happy but I've heard some horror stories so I'll have to settle for that. I dare say insurance companies will hike it up again next year.
  6. Can't see why. Same engine/gearbox as an 04
  7. Exactly the same company on ebay I bought my camera from
  8. All I can say is hooray for the M25 even if it is a carpark
  9. Yes you're right. We don't have to pay road tax so that is our concession to not have to pay.
  10. Checked mine "54" - no charge and with blue badge also no congestion charge AND no fee on the Queen Elizabeth crossing (Kent/Essex)
  11. Ah that's a shame. I really had my fingers crossed for you.
  12. Wow that is a lot of corrosion. The rest of it looks OK though. 👍
  13. Ooh you could be on to something! Fingers crossed ☘️
  14. Great stuff. If I remember right the box is screwed together so at least it's not sealed
  15. Lol. I'll get it off today. Good luck, I hope you get a good result. 👍
  16. Sure. You're welcome to it. Just keep us informed if you have a result. Send me your address and I'll get it off to you.
  17. Well, unlike me, it sounds to me like you understand the wizardry of electrickery so if it could be the solder that fails is it possible to re solder the unit? If you, or anyone else feels that it would be something that could be attempted I would be happy to donate my failed camera to try to "Frankenstein" it back to life. If it proved to be a positive result then maybe there would be a nice little service there for members on a sale and exchange basis.
  18. I've just replaced mine as it completely failed. Bought a used one off of ebay for £79.99 delivered free next day. I had a camera break down on another Ls430 I owned where the image looked like a negative on the screen. The cars were 04 and 05 so 18 and 19 years old. I'm curious as to what actually fails. Is it the camera, the wiring or what? Any thoughts?
  19. Yeah, wonder if we're being deliberately priced off the road by order of the powers that be 🤔
  20. I've used Adrian Flux several times for bike and car but never had to make any claims or anything so don't know what their customer service is like.
  21. Loyalty? I've no such thing with insurance companies. I compare every year. Normally find a better policy and then give my insurer a call to do better or at least match my quote. If they come up trumps I'll stay with them, saves me changing, if not who cares I've already found one cheaper.
  22. Obviously I don't know what you previously paid but I paid £233 full comp, protected no claims, windscreen cover etc, 9+years no claims Ls430 2004 1st October last year. Hastings direct. I always do the compare and when I think I've found one I like I then check out top cashback. I did that on my scooter insurance in January and got £26 off reducing it from £71 to £45 full comp so well worth a check.
  23. Thanks for that information. I think I need to pull it all out and see exactly how it's broken. Then I may have a better idea of how to possibly make a repair.
