  1. OK, without going into the embarrassing detail, I am now needing another smart key as one of mine has been ahem......damaged! Can anyone advise me what I can do or how to go about getting a replacement. I'm guessing a new key from lexus will be the same price as a deposit on a holiday in the Maldives. Cheapest answers will get a "like". Many thanks.

  3. Jeeze, if i was looking now id have pressed "buy it now" Same colour i wanted (canterbury blue) same colour interior and with the added bonus of the rear t.v's. At that price i'd buy it as a spare!
  4. The black spots are where rubber underneath stick through holes in the aluminium so they should be ok. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  5. Ah thanks for the info Steve. I will get back to ebay now. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk

  10. I bought aero type blades at tesco the other week and they were 16 for the passenger and 24 for the driver and both fit easily. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi yes I tow with the lexus. I didn't know anything about extra gearbox cooling. We've been to kings lynn twice and devon twice and mersea Island this year without it missing a beat. Perhaps theres something I should know that I'm unaware of?
  12. Hi. We never go abroad for holidays we love caravanning in our own tourer here in the UK. It will be an inevitability when we move next year though I suppose. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  13. Thought I'd check mine and it has my "valid from" date as 18/8/89. Odd as I passed my car test in 1980 and my motorcycle test around 1981 or 1983 before my son was born in 1984?? Although it's obviously valid I might still give them a call about it. Also I only have the paper licence. I suppose when I move next year I will have to apply for a new licence and end up being ripped off like everyone else!
  14. Just bought a pair of aero blades from tesco for a grand total of four quid, fits perfect. One 16" and the other 24".
  15. I've just bought a vogue too but mine's for the summer. [emoji6] Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
  16. It's ok..... but why put a snow plough on the front?
  17. I think there is a possibility that the ribbon may be damaged. I am going to remove it all again and let one of our engineers at work take a look at it. Oh and at the moment I'm all in favour of the "giving it a whack" technique.
  18. Hi thanks for the offer of help. However, I had a go again today and unscrewed the pcb on the back of the fascia and found where the strip (I'm reliably told is called a "ribbon") goes. Now after having tried inserting the ribbon into the slot either way and putting it all back together and cd in hand pressing the load button ....nothing! I'm tempted to buy a replacement off of ebay from Lithuania. What's stopping me at the moment is I'm not sure if it is a match
  19. Yep it's that old topic again. (Cd error) and not ejecting etc. I've checked it out on here, Googled it, and looked on YouTube to the point where I figured "it don't work so I can't break it". Anyway I removed the whole unit and found a way of getting the cd's out by removing the front where the cd's are inserted and unscrewed the metal front to get access to the stuck cd's. I was then able to lift each cd individually and remove them. I was starting to put it back together when the electrical strip/band ( don't know what the technical term for this part is) between the unit and the cd facia came off. I didn't have my glasses with me and as the dark was fast approaching I put it all back together again. Everything still works ok but I couldn't test the cd player because of the unattached strip. The question is this...where the hell does it go? All help appreciated here guys, thanks. Pics would be great too.
  20. 2 sunday's ago I was driving up to market weighton near york and hull to pick up a caravan that I had bought and at the time I think I was well on my way up the A1 when a silver lexus ls430 passed me. Later on I found myself behind him and was so for a good number of miles before he pulled off into a services. I wondered if the driver might be a member so I tried to remember the registration of the car. Anyway I had forgotten all about it until this week when on the way home from work the same car pulled out of a side road in Gidea Park in Romford. I recognised the car from that sunday. The registration (I forget the1st two letters) was - - 51 KAE. Anyone on here?

  22. I don't know if this has any relevance but I've been told by a mechanic at work who had a gs430 that overtightening the wheelnuts can cause the discs to warp and should be tightened to the correct torque at all times.
