  1. A tip on YouTube is to mask up and spray a few times with clear coat and buff up again. adventure before dementia

  3. 3Seen various techniques on YouTube for clearing misted headlights using normal household stuff so I thought I'd have a go just to see if there's any truth in what they say. A popular choice is the toothpaste method so I thought I'd give that a go. Smeared it all over the glass and used a mouse sander with a microfiber mitten over it instead of using elbow grease. Between passes over the glass I sprayed water over the glass as well. Wiping clean a couple of times and reapplying windolene cream and repeating. The result was pretty impressive as the pictures should show. I just need to pick up some car wax and give them a buff to help seal them. OK, it might not last forever but it didn't take long and I didn't have to go and buy anything, so the total cost was £0.
  4. I would have stopped at the badge. Couldn't bare the stigma of being a BMW driver. 😂 adventure before dementia
  5. Looks beaut! Love the colour. 👌
  6. Hi . I tow an abbey vogue 495 which is a single axle around 23 ft in length. I have asked about extra cooling and some would say it's a good idea but I haven't as yet done anything about it. I recently towed from home to devon which was about 230 miles and the car performed faultlessly without missing a beat. The car tows well without any issues. Obviously you still have to load your caravan properly and make sure your tyres are correctly inflated. Towing anything is going to have an effect on fuel consumption but I really don't worry about that. It's like worrying about how much fuel your holiday flight will use, a lot obviously, but who cares...you're on holiday.
  7. Thanks for clearing that up guys. So this looks a little more complicated than I first thought. Obviously I won't be able to get it sorted before I go so I suppose it's something to consider when we get back as we will continue to tour with it.
  8. Hi I'm towing my newer , bigger caravan down to Devon this Friday and I think I read on here that an alternative gearbox oil would be advisable. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated....preferably before Friday. Thanks.
  9. Shame, because I just wanted to keep it about a car and nothing else. adventure before dementia
  10. It just sold and I'm sorry to say he just left an unfavorable comment in the description adventure before dementia
  11. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301875980175&globalID=EBAY-GB&alt=web Don't want to start a row because the seller isn't popular on here. Let's just look at the car and comment. £2500 with lpg on an 03 plate, looks good to me. adventure before dementia
  12. Looks good. Do you have to switch it on when reversing or does it do it automatically when reverse is selected? adventure before dementia

  14. Had that before on a previous car and the fluid had turned a browny colour. Unfortunately it was the end of that box and I had to get a replacement. Not many 55 cadillac gearboxes about either. 😕 adventure before dementia
  15. Got to say that looks gorgeous. Good service history and an enthusiast owner. Very nice. Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
  16. And yes before anyone says anything....it's a big town.
  17. Ha ha yeah, well spotted. Should be 280 miles on a full tank driving around town.
  18. I don't really worry about fuel consumption as I feel the pleasure of driving my lexus on a daily basis far outweighs any negative. We took a trip down to devon recently and where I would normally achieve around 280 mpg around town I was astounded when the light came on for low fuel and I had covered 414 miles! I am well pleased with that and considering we had a weekend bag AND my wife's mobility scooter in the boot I think that was brilliant. On the way home the computer average mpg was displaying 29.2, what a great car
  19. So there we have it. All cars blow off.....steam that is. [emoji1] Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
  20. Had it before myself twice. Both occasions it was a head gasket. Once on a Sierra , once on a cadillac. Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
  21. Hope it's not a head gasket cos it sounds like it to me. Any scum in the oil? Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
  22. yes - best way is to get one from lexus - cost is around £180 including the programming - you will need to provide car ownership details. Even if you buy a second key from the UK - you will still need to take it to lexus to get it programmed to perform smart entry and start functions. don't be tempted to buy a cheap key from the USA - they do not work as they operate on a different frequency So if it's possible to buy another key in the UK, any idea on the cost of it being reprogrammed? Thanks.
