Im selling mine, 95k miles, Full Lexus history, cream leather unmarked interior, 4.0 liter, LPG convesrion, private number plate, will put brand new MOT before selling. Colour is in Gold which goes well with the interior, few age light scratches, other than that runs like a dream, as you would expect from a Lexus.

All VW's do that too. They dont open from the keyb fob, only the drivers and the passengers doors open and then to open the rear doors you have to press the button on your door card. Sounds like the locks are jammed on yours, if you can open them or gain access to them, spray them down with WD-40 or use GT86, much more powerful but slightly more expensive.

Just an update, seen a CT200h come in today with 153k miles!!! 15 Lexus main dealer stamps and AA 250 point check showing GREEN, no problems at all. This just goes to show how good these cars are, amazing!!

Not sure why people hate hybrids, only becuase they are slow etc. Im 16, not a raceboy or anything but I really like the CT, looks slick and modern. Alot of people I talk to say they are rubbish but all these car reviewers are brought by Germans and pay them to talk crap about Toyota's and Lexus's and do all the big talk with the crappy Germans. Germans most unreliable car I have known, worse than Frenchs (not bad, had a Reno in the family which did 120k miles on a 1.6 petrol with only needed bearings changed). Ive had 13 Volkswagen Golfs, every single one had faults which kept comming, 1 of which we kept for 3 years but still, garbage.

Hi mate, I buy and sell cars at auction. I see lots of CT200h come in with over 100k miles, most 120k etc. All the cars have AA 200 point test, includes all mechanical parts. The CT's have no problems with them which suprises me. They are really reliable. When you see same year VW's or BMW's, they always have problems.

Electric Parking Brake Newbie Question
LexusCT200H replied to LexusCT200H's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
Thanks, helped alot. -
Hi I am soon to purchase a CT200h and have a question. It will be the first time I am going to be owning a hybrid which is a big jump. I'm really confused on the parking brake and the manual brake. When I want to park up in a normal car I just pull up the handbrake, simple. In a Hybrid there are 2 brakes? the P button and the foot brake. Would I always have to press down the foot brake or I can just press the P button and no need to worry? Thanks

First Lexus, First Post, Any Recommendations For Options?
LexusCT200H replied to Aikon's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
VW are rip offs. They charged me £700 for a arm rest! YES! A arm rest! -
On a 2004 not worth using Lexus parts. Use this website www.eurocarparts.com. Ive always used them, best thing is that you can pop into a store near you and you dont have to pay online. These guys stock japanese parts which are much cheaper, after purchasing hundreds of products from them I have never had a problem. Just enter your number plate and it will show all the parts for your car. Tthe cheapest one will be fine for your car.

Is300H Vs Mercedes C300 Bluetec Hybrid
LexusCT200H replied to ganzoom's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Exactly, no suprise there. These German cars are really over rated. Ive had 13 German cars (all VW's) within the past year. All of which have been total garbage. All these cars were 2005+ with less than 100k mileage. All had full service histroy etc and well looked after. One of which I kept for 3 years and sold this year. It just kept throwing up engine management light codes every month. I dont know why but it felt like VW have programmed this as the light would come up on the exact same date after some months. All the reviews for Volkswagens say they are ulta-reliable and give them 5 star rating but when it comes to relaility I would give it 2. I have mates with Audi (using same engine as my VW) and they have the exact same problem. Then we have Toyota reviews for Whatcar, always at the bottom, given 2-3 stars overall rating. Toyota's rating for reliability was given 3 out of 5 because of recalls yet they are bullet proof. Its a good thing you brought a Lexus over that Mercedes, on the long run it will do you good. Mercedes are using Hybrid technology for the first time whereas Lexus have many years experence (from Toyota too) which means they would have been tested for any faults on the long run. -
Hi, also do all the Lexus CT200h models come with bluetooth or certain models?
-
Thanks for your replies Geof and others. The reason why I have chosen the CT200h is because where I purchase cars from they come with a AA mechanical report. This includes all the main parts of the car and tells me if anything is wrong with it. There is a 200 point check on the car and I have seen CT200h's with over 120k miles showing everything is good. If I was to look at any VW or any other car (other than toyota and lexus) they would show red marks which mean there is a problem. I understand that the value of the CT200h will depreciate quickly but compared to the Auris (I have a 2011 and looking to purchase a 2011 Ct200h), its a huge difference. Auris with 30k miles is 5k max and Lexus with same mileage and year is 10k max. I will keep the Lexus for 3-4 years, at that point it will most likely have 50k miles max, what do you think the value will be then? Even if its 6k (i doubt) I would still be happy. If you guys could give me a rough idea of price in 4 years with 50k miles I'd appreciate. I currently have an Auris which is the most boring car in the world. The car gets me from A to B without any problems but lacks any excitement (unfortuantly I had literally had a 30 second decision to buy the car) as I have the lowest basic spec model. Thanks guys!

Hi, I'm a part time vehicle dealer and get cars at dealer prices, SE-L comes around £10,000 with about 30k miles. I will probally purchase one at the end of next month when I sell my Toyota Auris.
-
Hi I use gumtree depending on the price of the vehicle. If it costs less than £2,500 the car its self then use Gumtree, anything more go for Autotrader since people doubt Gumtree. Gumtree is free of charge and Autotrader costs £20.00 min for 2 weeks.

Alternator almost definatly if it broke down on motorway. Check belts for any tears or wear before changing actual alternator.
-
Hi guys, thanks for the response. I am looking at 1.8-I or 1.8-L spec. Im trying to find a 1.8L at my price budget which is 9k with 30k or less miles which is possible but it has to be the right time. I'm not too keen on the 1.8-I, I want some leather and decent spec.

Agreed, its either people driving in old bangers such as a Peugeot 207 and couldent care less about their car or its the show offs in their BMW's with their xennon lights blinding you.
-
I think Phillip above is one of them tailgaters and doesent like my comments unfortunatly. I guess that is a good idea before things really get heated.

Hi if your engine light comes on and says cata is below threshold effeciency then its probally blocked up. As you said it comes and goes means that it will only be 1-2% below the threshold and you will need to clean it. Theres a bottle which can be brought from Halfords called 'Cataclean' or something simular, pour it into half a tank fuel and then give the car a blast for a couple of miles. It will clear out all the crap and hopefully you shouldent see that engine light again. If it comes up again its likely to be a lamda sensor.
