DPF and EGR deletion and dyno remap - Avon Tuning
Carl_Freeman replied to Carl_Freeman's topic in Modifications & Tuning
The basic remap is £250, and with the DPF and EGR delete and the changes to the ECU to stop the dash lights etc. It is £549. -
Hi Guys, I have a 2007 IS220d. Its been a year since I last used my heater to heat rather than just cool or air con, and I cant remember how it 'should' function? It doesnt seem to blow warm air until the car has been running for 20 mins or so and the engine temp is half way on the gauge, until then its blowing cold despite being set to 23 degrees on the control, with or without air con switched on. Is this correct behavior? cheers.

I had good results with basic whitening toothpaste on a mirofiber cloth and lots of pressure whilst scrubbing in straight lines in small areas at a time. They seem to last about 4 months before they need doing again. Keep the surface wet with toothpaste while polishing and be patient. (Also there is a product called plastx that does a similar job, but its far more expensive.)

DPF and EGR deletion and dyno remap - Avon Tuning
Carl_Freeman replied to Carl_Freeman's topic in Modifications & Tuning
Thanks for your opinion Linas, DPF and EGR aside, the fact that it is now possible to remap and dyno tune the ECU in the 220d (with or without hardware deletion) is a huge step forward and great news for all of us diesel lexus/toyota owners. The extra bhp and torque and the potential fuel saving gains are great and the fact that this can be done with guarantees of no error lights, codes or problems is even better. -
I have been talking to Gareth at Avon Tuning in Bristol after reading this article: http://avontuning.co.uk/2015/11/lexus-is-220d-dpf-removal-ecu-remap/ Avon Tuning have a good reputation as far as I can see on various owners forums. They have a blog and facebook page too if you are interested. Gareth wrote in response to my email: "Since summer last year, the Denso ECU's fitted to Lexus/Toyota vehicles were cracked. This was one of the biggest revelations in our industry. We have now done over 100 Toyota/Lexus vehicles for both Remapping and DPF Removal. We give you a lifetime warranty with our software so no issues there for you. There are many advantages to DPF Removal, the main being the cost Vs replacement let alone a healthier vehicle with less restriction and pressure. Another advantage to a DPF Removal is that we include free of charge a Remap so therefore is very cost effective for you saying you £250. We offer a DPF Removal + EGR Delete + Stage 1 ECU Remap + Dyno package on your vehicle for £549 including VAT. That includes the physical removal of the filter, the fitment of an EGR blanking plate and all the associated ECU Reprogramming to prevent future DPF regeneration and warning lights. Also included free of charge is a Stage 1 ECU Remap to improve the performance and efficiency of the engine. Furthermore, once we have completed our removal service we offer a lifetime guarantee against any future DPF / EGR issues and warning lights." very interesting :)

I bought one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ELM327-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Interface-Scanner/dp/B008BPN7XI/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1428568401&sr=8-12&keywords=obd2+bluetooth not that exact seller, but the same model about 3 years ago, it works really well with the torque pro app for android devices, you get all the fault codes and just about any info you could ask for.

Hi everyone, The top section of my drivers side front door's door card (near the mirror and hinge) is un-clipped and pulls away from the door by about 10mm when the door is open. I have not dared to remove the card in case I break clips or the card itself, I dont have a good track record when it comes to trim removal. Should it just pop back on if I apply pressure to it, or does the card need to "slide" on to a clip at an angle? Have any of you removed the door card and put it back? is it trouble free or easy to break clips etc? Cheers.

Hi again, just noticed the other night that my 'new' 2007 220d is idling at just over 1K? is this high for the model or normal? I would have assumed that it would idle at 700-800 revs, but having never owned a diesel before I though I'd ask here... If its high, what can I do about it and what may be causing it? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have just bought a 2007 IS220d with 124,000 on the clock, it runs really well and smoothly in all but 6th gear. When doing 70mph in 5th, if I change up to 6th and accelerate, I get a vibration as if I was driving over cats eyes at speed or seamed concrete. Its at about 1.5k - 2k rpm and continues until I get to about 80mph where it seems to go away. You can hear it as well as feel it. It almost feels as if the car is at too low revs and is struggling in that gear? but surely I should be able to use 6th at 70mph without a problem? Thanks for any advice.
