  1. I, like others on here seem to me averaging 41/42 mpg in mixed London/Suburban/M25 70 mph driving in my 300H Executive. The mpg reading is set for mpg from re-fuel - mpg from last start-up. My journey later yesterday afternoon was from NW10 Staples Corner district - A406 - A1 Barnet Way - M25 to J28 A12 junction. Traffic on all roads except M25 was fairly heavy so lots of slow driving. I decided to 'cruise' the M25 at 55/60 or so mpg rather than the usual 70 (ish). I was suprised to see the mpg figure steadily creep-up from the 41 mpg (since fill-up) baseline to 51 mpg (since start-up) in the space of only 20 miles or so. For the hell of it (and if I had the patience) it would be interesting to do a longer motorway journey at sub 60 mph speeds.
  2. Yes - I have same thing - most noticeable when 'holding' on brakes awaiting pull away. Whereas in most cars a very light pressure on the brake pedal is enough to hold the car back, with the IS300H insufficient brake pressure creates the noise you describe from the rear brakes - irritating!
  3. I would have thought that most higher level audio systems within cars would have a function to 'equalise' volume when changing sources. Sound like a 'tech' issue (probably like mine)
  4. Arguably I think the car warms-ups up quicker than a diesel vehicle. As has already been said - hit the 'start' button - the heated rear window/mirrors - highest setting on the heated seats and it warms-up reasonably quick. Hitting the 'defrost' button (and disable the a/c function) will speed things along a bit. Haven't tried it but wondered if starting the car up, leaving primary key in cabin - are you able then to lock the vehicle with the spare key and leave the car to warm-up securely?
  5. I haven't got around to 'digging' about under the car but from initial inspection and reading the makers info it appears that a small conventional battery is located in the left hand side of the boot. Logical I guess as hybrid system operates on far higher voltage than 12v of normal car battery - and what happens if hybrid cells are depleted - you wouldn't be able to start the engine.
  6. My previous BMW 120D Sport Auto dropped by a similar percentage in the colder weather conditions - our vehicles electrical systems such as lighting, heater fan/electric heated seats will be in greater use and leaving 'systems' on when stationary. It's pay back for otherwise having economical/efficient vehicles.
  7. Mine is the IS300H Executive edition. Can't really say that I 'hoof' the car around - generally prefer to use in Eco mode and not drive specifically for economy. Economy for me is much the same city or A road useage. Oddly about the same in mpg no's as my previous 120D Sport Auto!
  8. Just a quick 'hello' as a new member. Have been running a IS300h Exec in black/black trim for 2 or 3 months now. Previous 'daily' was a BMW 120D Sport auto which was a great nippy, economical and fun car for my every day useage (London within M25). Changed to the IS300H as I wanted something a liitle bit more comfortable and to try and fend off HMG's relentless 'grabbing' of BIK taxes from me. As a city use vehicle the IS300H is superbly effective being very relaxing and refined for use in the heavy traffic of motorways and major 'A' roads - it has certainly been ignored by the motoring press (what do they know, eh?) On 'paper' and reading various road tests the IS300H would appear perhaps to be a little sluggish and not perhaps a first choice vehicle. This is certainly not the case, with surprisingly agile performance when the 'loud' pedal is buried in the carpet - especially at higher motorway speeds. Surely Lexus's best kept secret? - Regards, Ross
  9. Thanks for replies - yes, I guessed it was going to be something specific to my vehicle rather an a 'generic' issue (others would have 'flagged' the issue and main dealer would have been aware) Yes, agree that DAB can and will cut in/cut out in poorer signal areas - but in London & South East it shouldn't be a major issue. My previous BMW 'daily' with 'shark fin' antenna never had DAB issues. Perhaps aerial in rear screen is less effective? Regards, Ross
  10. Had my IS300H Executive about 3 months now and I think its a great relaxing place to be - except for an intermittent audio system. My useage is outer/inner London within M25 so DAB signal should not be an issue - however at times DAB, CD, Auxillary input from Android via Spotify and most irritatingly 'hands free' phone go intermittant on totally random occasions. Some days the system is fine - other days it drives me crazy and whilst on phone I'll get 10 seconds of conversation - then 5 seconds where I can't hear other party - and they can't hear me - not good for customer relations! - Its exactly the same with DAB, CD and Aux. Took the car in to main dealer for a couple of hours and, sods law it didn't play up. Too busy workwise to waste time and put the car in for a day or so with the Lexus dealer to try and find the issue so will will now probably wait until first service in a month or so to hopefully get resolved - didn't see anyone else with this issue on this forum - is this just an isolated event?
  11. My use is London around and within M25. Had the car 3 months. Now the temperature has dropped economy is around 41 mpg. When weather as a lttle warmer is was up to 43 mpg. But its such a relaxing place to be!
