    My is200 had 128,000 on when I sold it in 20190 ,it was an 02 plate which had 8000 on when I bought it , apart from servicing n tyres nothing at all went wrong in 120000 miles,it drove like new when I sold it ! i also have a Toyota hi ace van which I've owned for 10 years that's got 260,000 on it now and still going strong,it's a Y plate and goes through MOTs with minimal bits ,I had to get a new number plate and bulb to get it through the last one !

    Where exactly is this valve located? I've now got a similar problem with mine,.best described as hiccuping between 2 and 3000rpm Everything else is clean and well serviced so turbo could be worth a look at?

    It happens on mine,normally every time someone adjusts one of the seats ,it disturbs the wiring,normally goes off again if I move the seat back to its normal position

    Has anyone managed to change main fuse on 220d? Its the white/grey box in the underbonnet fuse box? I cant seem to work out how to change it.itts the alternator main fuse that's gone

    Theres deffo no special tool needed,its just a very arkward job to do ,i did mine on my driveway laid on my back which makes it even harder. I wouldnt recommend anyone try it unless theyre a very confident DIY mechanic as its very easy to break the housing

    I changed mine myself,a tricky job to do as it's easy to break the screw/filter housing but any mechanic should be able to do it.

    I use a full can of bg244 to a full tank of fuel once every 5000 miles and I also use arch oil 6200 every fill up,5mls to 50litres of fuel. Mine is an 07 plate and runs well,I've had one issue with a leaky injector but apart from that it idles and runs fine

    I wouldnt have thought the car would start from cold if the glowers are all dead.Normally the glowplug light on dashboard would stay on,or flash with faulty glow plugs when trying to start

    Hi,have you got the service book with the car? It tells you the servicing schedule in the book if you have it. I would have a full service done if you are unsure of what the car has had.

    I change my oil every 5k or so and at same time i clean EGR and air filter and the air filter is always a bit clogged up with dust n debris,the EGR has a light dusting over it normally.

    Have you got the VCI mini cable and software? you could force a regen with that??

    You could be getting diesel in your engine oil/sump ??

    I wouldnt have it removed ,if it fails MOT it will be a big headache. I would run it at 70mph ish in 4th for half hour or so to try clear it and if it works then try and make sure it gets a motorway run once a week to try keep it clean

    What gearbox and differential oil is needed in the is220d? I have changed the gear and diff oils in this car before but cant remember where it was that i got the spec from.

    My injectors are starting to play up,is there any way i can tell if my car is on the updated injectors or the origional ones without removing them

    Thanks for that Abdul,ive now fitted the belt and all is fine again,i wouldnt have been able to do it without the diagrams. I wouldnt like to have to do that job again,very arkward to get the belt on !!

    Has anyone ever changed this belt on the 220d??,mines snapped and im struggling to find a diagram of how i should route the new belt.

    Hi rob,my 220d is fairly noisy when its idling but not noticably loud when driving. The problem you are having with holding a certain rev range 2000-2300 is the same problem im having with mine at the moment,i think itsa blocked/leaking injector,which would also explain a noisy engine. Mine seems worse in 2nd gear at 2200rpm

    Its good stuff,i use it in my 220D and also use in in my van ,a 16yr old toyota hiace 2.4D with 256,000 on the clock and she runs like a dream.
