Surely it would pop up a different error to the one I am getting now though?

I did try it a couple of times and it didnt work. Should the ABS light be flashing? What should happen?

Thanks mate. I am hoping it is that as i know there has been a code reader on there as the EML is on due to an o2 sensor failure. Just tried this and the ABS light was flashing for ages and nothing else. Moved the car after and the VSC light came on straight away. My mate popped round with a scanner and it only had one error which was C1336 - Zero Point Calibration of Deceleration Sensor Undone Googled the error and it says to reset it with that method but like i said, the ABS light just flashes the VSC light is meant to go out apparently but it doesnt. Any ideas?

Yes, the VSC OFF and VSC Lights are on :-/ Are there are fuses for the VSC?

Update - So i just pulled the dash surround off and found there is some black electrical tape over the bottom set of lights... I don't know why its there but the buttons are working. Now to find out why my gearbox is running like crap.

OK. Where else can i check then? As it just doesnt seem to do anything on my car...

Hi Guys, Last saturday i bought a 2001 GS430 that just had a GS300 gearbox fitted as the previous box had a pump failure. When changing gear its not very smooth and the car shunts a bit when changing gears. When its started in the morning sometimes it will jump out of reverse or forward when moving then stopping. When flat footing it the gearbox is quite slow to kickdown as well. I have checked the oil and it is at the correct level. Is there anything I can look out for or do to resolve this? I am not sure what oil it has in the gearbox, does it HAVE to be the toyota iv or what ever its called? I know the garage that did the work and i dont think they would have had any of that instock, could that cause the problems im experiecing? Any help would be great, this is the first auto car i have had and know nothing about auto boxes so i am quite out of my depth here so any help is greatly appreiciated!

Hi Guys, My ECT/PWR button is not working. I pulled the center console apart and checked all the buttons were connected and they are. I spoke to the previous owner and he said he thinks its a fuse that needs replacing. I have had a look at the two in the footwells and the 3 under the bonnet and couldnt see anything obvious. Any ideas?

Hi all, I picked my Lexus up on Saturday and so far i absolutely love it. Its my first V8 as well so enjoying the rumble! I have noticed a couple of issues that i would like to sort out, if anyone can help - No light comes on when I press the ECT/PWR button. Where should the light be on the dash? I know its a green one. Should i notice much difference in gear changes with it pressed? If it is just the dash bulbs, do you know what model they are so i can buy some replacments? The lights behind the ETC/PWR, Heated seats and VSC buttons are not working at all when the headlights are on. I beleive they should be a dim green? Does anyone know the bulb model so i can buy some new ones or maybe even replace with some LED's. The guy i bought the car off had the gearbox replaced with a refurbed GS300 box and he said there is a little leak coming from that area every now and again. I havent had a chance to check under the car since i have had it. Are there any common gearbox leakage areas to look out for? Is it OK to use the GS300 gearbox on a GS430? The car seems to drive fine with it... Thanks for any help!

Hi all, New owner of a 2001 Black GS430. I have always had japanese turbo cars and fancied something more comfortable and always wanted a V8, this came up at the right price so had to snap it up. My previous daily was an Evo IV which i now have up for sale. The main reason for buying the GS and selling the Evo is my back has taken to much punishment from hard suspension in sports cars! I also have a 540bhp R33 GTR to go fast in so dont need two nutty turbo cars! I look forward to learning as much as possible about these cars as i like to do the work myself. I will get some pics up when I can.
