A pithy post.

It's not the best.
I find using it ok, but the directions given are sometimes poor.

What washer fluid should we be using in our cars then? Lexus Official?
Whatever's on offer, as long as it's windscreen washer fluid.
I buy the fruity smelling stuff from Halfords or ECP in 5 litre containers.

Amen to that Peter, our old Vectras washers stopped working, the pump could be heard wizzing away.
I removed the pump from the bottle and as you say, there was about two inch of jelly in the bottom of the bottle.
Cleaned it all out and the washers cleaned the windscreens of the four cars behind me.

I have found in the past, on other cars, that a hose pipe stuffed into the neck on full power will flush the bottle out and dislodge any debris that may be effecting the sensor.
You may get wet.

I didn't mean it in a disparaging way, it really wouldn't dawn on me to call the breakdown service.

I've only had a couple of flats tyres, it wouldn't dawn on me to phone the breakdown service. :)

You'll need to get to know a good alloy restorer if you park like that regularly:

I have that^^^^. Fine for what I use it for, just buffing the car.
It made a good job of cutting the faded headlights on my sons Vectra.
Pays ya money........

Please please please take note of the advice given above, check all the easy fixes mentioned first i.e the door and security settings that are found in the users manual.
No one can diagnose the issue with your car via a car forum, we can only point you in a direction where you can help yourself.

Always, always, always change water pump and tensioner when changing belts.
Thought it was a given. ;)

The wife. She love the lexus's looks. :)
See if they'll take the wife off your hands in exchange for a sat nav upgrade.

I've recently taken out a service plan with toyota. I pay £15 a month direct debit. Toyota have assured me and I have it in writing that they will grease all four caliper slide pins at each service.
On my previous is220d the rear calipers had seized solid and cost me hundreds to replace as I needed new caliper housing too.
At least now I can be rest assured it won't happen on my current vehicle.
Who are you going to get to check they've done what they promised?
-
A full day, you're joking.......
I replaced the sons four brake discs and four coil springs on his Vectra, cleaned greased and put it all back together in a steady 5 hours, and that was including tea and a lunch break.

I know someone called Will Powers, she does Kissing with Confidence. I don't think she does alloys with confidence though.

Re used the pads I had replaced few months ago.
This is my third time I am doing this job.It is a pain as I would want a solution to this problem and not worry every few months. Every 12 months is ok but nothing before that. Have a life to live as well then maintain cars.
If you do them correctly they will last twelve months, a couple of hours a year maintaining your brakes is hardly a task that takes time out of your life, is it? or are you being a bit dramatic?

UPDATE
In addition to the above quote, I have now had one from Lexus and they have quoted me £219.47 and this is for a 'Blend' repair and not for a re-spray of the whole bumper. Having read all of the responses to my original post in this thread, this has come as a bit of a surprise, No suggestion from them of a massively hiked quote.
I am just waiting fro one more quote from a SMART repairer in Exeter.
I bet Lexus have been following this thread and thought, "We'll surprise these clever buggers".

It is difficult to read the oil level, but not impossible. As John says the oil on a clean and wiped dipstick does show, new oil is more difficult but there is a line, again as said above, use the light to show the refraction of the oil.
All my recent cars and the wife's Seat Mii are terrible for this, but they can be read.

You can drive the car TO a pre-booked appointment only.
The route you take is open to interpretation. :)

I think, as has been said before on the forum, the new cars we buy today are years in the planning so the sat nav will nearly always be way behind the likes of TomTom or Garmin.
I use the Lexus sat nav, but don't trust it, I have a Garmin in the boot in case, or rather when, the inbuilt lets me down.
It certainly wouldn't be a selling point for me when buying a car.
