  1. Had my battery replaced a month or so ago at five and a half years old. Cost me £75 fitted with a three years guarantee.
  2. Yes they have, but there is a recent enhancement. The deal has always included two years premium AA membership as well as the warranty deal. Just recently, they have included two free MoTs as part of the deal too.
  3. No, I used a local tyre/exhaust independent, I've been using him for 15 years ! I just dropped the RX off (it's close to work) and asked Stuart to attend to it. He told me the replacement was slightly smaller physically but of greater capacity and comes with a three year guarantee. £62.50+vat.....i.e. £75 all-in. 😊 Before you ask, I haven't looked at the brand of replacement battery. At that price and 3 year warranty it doesn't really matter.
  4. Good spot ! Wonder if anything above the bottom line could be vat exempt ?
  5. I just did a very quick mental calculation and 13.5km/litre equates roughly to 38mpg.
  6. Me too. There are other requirements also. Driveway needs to be level or downhill and only featherlight touches to the accelerator or the ICE will kick in.
  7. You may wish to sneak off your drive early one morning without waking your neighbours. 😊
  8. I experienced this on my RX at the beginning of this year. I exit my driveway on to a narrow lane and I have to use full lock. It was noisy too, as if the tyres were skipping across the surface of the road. On full lock there's a difference between the rotation speed of the inner and outer sides of the tyre One side needs to go faster than the other as the radii being experienced is different. My tyres were ready for a change on about 2.5mm, so there wasn't much tread available to flex and absorb this. I changed my tyres to new Pirelli Scorpions all round in March and the problem has disappeared.
  9. Had mine nearly two years now Paul. I've just replaced the 12v battery in the boot floor.....that's it ! I'm delighted with mine and it's a keeper into my retirement.
  10. Yes, I always get a video of the initial inspection from Lexus Cardiff.
  11. Have other members noticed a recent tendency for sellers to list their cars on eBay without year and/or mileage being visible in the headline screen ? I think the tactic is to encourage more people to read the listing in full. Personally, I distrust a listing that isn't fully open from the outset.
  12. My budget was sub £20k so horses for courses. Had ML in a previous IS250 and it didn't really impress me, car's not a good environment for serious listening in my opinion. Yes, burgundy with ivory is a stunning combination, good luck with your search. I wouldn't let a colour combination cloud my judgement where basic stuff like service history, mileage, condition etc. is concerned. Yes, a LedZep fan, unfortunately I was in school when they did most of their performances 😢.
  13. Great, you won't be disappointed. Had mine nearly two years now, the Luxury model but cannot fault it. A pet hate of mine is silver (light) cars with Ivory (light) interiors. Looks sickly and insipid to me. Much prefer a strong contrast between exterior and interior. I'd have preferred ivory on the inside of my burgundy RX but settled for black as everything else about the vehicle was "right". Had an IS250C with ivory and Caddoxton Slate exterior, looked particularly smart with the roof down. Have a good look before you decide. Good luck ☺️.
  14. Oooops ! Mine's an RX.....don't know if the GS is different ?
  15. Mine's a 2013 and I tighten mine to 76 lb/ft as per the manual.
  16. I had four Saabs before going Lexus. I'd probably still be with Saab if they were still around, excellent motor cars. On my third Lexus now, they're not too bad either 😉.
  17. I agree with you about dark wheels on a black car, not keen on the stealth look either. Yes, the silver is far better to my eyes, there'll be someone along to disagree soon 😊. I recently used the Wheel Specialist Franchise in Swansea for my wife's Nissan. They were the diamond cut style and water had got behind the lacquer and turned all the silver a milky white ! I had them re-done with a powder coat of Gun Metal and I'm delighted with the job. It was a full strip and treatment to every surface of the wheel. Not cheap, but you tend to get what you pay for.
  18. Sorry Peter, can't answer your question, but I wouldn't let a roof rack (or not) get between me and buying that beauty. Good luck.
  19. Loved my IS250C in the summer with the roof down, but not very practical and murdered my back getting in and out. So, the RX for me, just can't lower the roof that's all. Ticks every other box though. ☺️
  20. Why did you sell it for so little ? The guy who put it in the auction is making the killing here !
  21. I'm a bit of a HiFi nut myself too. The music industry should be ashamed of themselves. The fidelity and dynamic range of the cd format was totally abused with excessive compression. Google "loudness wars" for an insight. I mostly play vinyl records now (originals from the 70s mostly) and despite the record medium being far from distortion free, I don't think you can beat the sound of a well recorded LP through a tidy system. Think it's an analogue vs digital thing. Digital should trounce an LP record but it often doesn't. To finish, I don't think a vehicle cabin is an ideal place to listen critically to music.....you should be concentrating on driving dammit !!!
  22. Congratulations on your new motor, the colour combination sounds great. Pics when you get it please. I wouldn't be too hasty with the Nexens. I had them fitted to a Saab Aero and they performed well. Try them before you change them.
  23. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the spark plug change in the US is at 100,000 miles. On that basis, I wouldn't worry about going over 60k with spark plugs. I don't think the cost of the plugs should be an issue, it's the cost of dismantling everything around them. I could change the plugs in my first car (MkI Escort) in just a few minutes.
