  1. Yes, I love mine too. Not sure what Paul means by "CVT howl" ? Could be a typo, as my CVT is noiseless. The characteristics of the transmission does mean that the engine revs hard when a brisk response is requested, also applies to steep uphill travel too. In particular the uphill revs, I don't feel that I'd have to rev so hard if I was in control with a manual gearbox. Had my RX nearly 2 years and I don't really notice these things much now. Just got used to it I suppose. There's no quieter motor when just wafting. How often do you boot it or climb a steep hill ?
  2. In the majority of cars these days it's called "a slightly open window"
  3. I've had both in 2 ISs. They are both sufficiently good for listening to music in an environment of noise and poor acoustics. I'm very discerning about my HiFi at home, but in a car it just has to be good enough. You should be concentrating on driving anyway
  4. Mrs Ledzep is my parking assistant, but she's not available on video 😁.
  5. Tried that on my dashcam. Frustration rather than excitement. Went back to basics.....RTFM.....again !!
  6. No obvious red flags. If all is well, I'd be asking the seller to put a new mot on it.
  7. As Vlad says, I'd have put the vacuum around before photographing the interior. MOT history is excellent, mot'd to 25th May. Not sure why the suspension has been lowered, boy racer ?? Definitely worth a look at the price.
  8. If I may join in the left/right handed thing. I'm right handed and do everything exactly the way you'd expect. With my left hand I can't write my name and I'm very uncomfortable using a screwdriver and inaccurate if using a saw. YET.....I play guitar (of sorts) and the left hand needs to be very accurate and quick, far more demanding a role than the right hand. How does that work ?
  9. A bit drastic Kevin. A couple of Lemsips usually does it for me 😁
  10. That would be a shame. Give these guys a try: https://www.breakeryard.com/
  11. Off road parking will usually reduce the premium. I don't have an odd wife.....she is getting on a bit though ☺️.
  12. Sounds to me like the symptoms of an under performing 12v battery. Experienced most of the symptoms you describe in my RX just a few months ago. New battery sorted it.
  13. Yes, it must benefit the dealer, but most of all I think the salesman benefits from a generous commission package on these products. Personally, I wouldn't bother, especially as you care for your vehicle anyway. If you're planning on keeping the vehicle for a few years and having it serviced by Lexus, I'd be more inclined to invest funds in the extended warranty to follow on after the initial dealer supplied warranty. I speak from experience on the warranty as I have benefitted from it on two ISs in the past. Enjoy your GS if you go through with the purchase.
  14. Notice your car is 2012. If it still has the original battery, it's probably due for a change now.
  15. I seem to recall a change of rules announced a couple of weeks ago. I believe it's ok to sell Lexus stuff without being a gold member now. Will someone correct me if I'm wrong please. Good luck with your sale Roch.
  16. Miles per full tank is meaningless without knowing the capacity of the tank !
  17. I agree with John, spark plug wear is mileage related, not age. The plugs and work involved in changing them make up a large part of your service quotation. If you wish to maintain a Lexus SH then I'd ask them to do it without the plugs. If you have an extended warranty where Lexus servicing is mandatory, just check with them it's ok to leave the plugs until 60k miles.
  18. If I recall correctly, the Thorens decks have three point suspension just like the Linns. I'd expect inflated rubber under your marble platform to make it a bit "floppy". The best isolation in my opinion is a wall mounted stand. I have my Gyrodec (3 point suspension) mounted on toughened glass on spikes on a Target wall shelf. Works very well.
  19. I see the reverse parking sensors are millimetre accurate, or was the orange car just lucky ? 😊
  20. Yes, we bought a small Nissan earlier this year for Mrs ledzep. It had badly corroded diamond cuts, gone all milky behind the lacquer. They hadn't been kerbed, just chips in the lacquer allowing water ingress. We had a full refurbishment done (the whole wheel) and painted in gunmetal at The Wheel Specialist in Swansea, fantastic job like new wheels ! I believe they are a franchise operation with centres around the country.
