Hi Jessi......er..I mean Neil ! I can't make a comparison as I have no experience of the SC. Having said that, you don't get oodles of wood in the IS but I do find my SE-L luxurious. The IS250C isn't a particularly quick car, you will miss your V8 I suspect. Despite frameless doors and a sectional roof, I don't consider it much noisier than the IS250 saloon I had before. I'm finding it difficult to trace and cure the rattles on the car. Sorted some out, but resigned to the fact that this model comes with some rattles as standard. Let us know if you change :)

I don't understand this ? What did you do with the welding wire ? The dash cam works on 5 volts, so I suspect the cigarette lighter plug has a voltage dropper built into it. For that reason I don't see direct connection a possibility. Thank you for your replies guys, but not what I'm looking for. I just want to know how I can feed a mini usb plug and cable from the centre armrest storage area into the cabin of the car. Can anyone help please ?

Maybe the question is too difficult for you guys ? Seriously though, I'd love to have an answer. I don't want any wiring showing and am unwilling to use the front ashtray socket for that reason. Is there a way to get a slim cable out of the centre armrest storage ?

Didn't use tools Neil, fingers spread along the bottom of the mirror lens and gives better feedback than a piece of plastic ! Go on......you can do it !

I tackled this job on my last IS250. The original motive was to replace the puddle light bulbs with leds, but the passenger mirror wasn't fully performing. When I got inside, I saw the gears of the mechanism all caked in crud and gunge ! I cleaned the parts with white spirit using an old toothbrush, dried it all, then sprayed with a silicon lubricant. Changed the bulbs too. Yes, the initial dislodging of the mirror glass is nerve wrenching, but once over that everything went swimmingly. It's all about a bit of confidence. All worked fine afterwards.

I'm wanting to use the centre armrest aux socket to power a dash cam. The 12v connector plug is quite large, so figured it should be easier to start from this point by feeding the mini usb plug out from here and then threading it to the camera. I can't figure out a way of poking the cable out from the centre compartment. Anyone done this ? Thanks

IS wheels are still intact. I park a foot away from the kerb on all occasions in it lol Bet your passengers say "Don't worry, I'll walk to the pavement from here" :) I tend to give kerbs a wide berth too.

First of all, a motor vehicle is a very difficult (impossible) environment to get HiFi sound. Up until a month ago, I had a IS250 SE-L with ML system. I now have a IS250C SE-L without the ML system. I don't detect a difference to be honest. The ML had 14 speakers I think and my present kit has 11 I believe. I wouldn't pay extra for the ML system over my one. I have read dissatisfaction from recent IS300h owners who have the basic stereo with just 6 speakers I understand, so beware of that. To put this into context, I'm a music nut with a HiFi in a dedicated listening room at home. Personally, I treat music in the car as accompaniment, not for serious listening. I'd probably find the 6 speaker set up acceptable as a purveyor of sound while I concentrate on the act of driving safely.

I've been wanting to give my lawns a final cut since mid October. Not managed it as the rain here in West Wales has been pretty much incessant. Your first cut in the Spring will be a doddle Malcolm, whereas mine will be hard work !

Thanks for your response Michael. Geoff has also pm'd me. I'm chuffed that I have a rather rare car ! Six years old, only one owner before me, 34k miles and a Lexus stamp in the book every year ! I only do about 7k miles each year, I may be sitting on a classic ? I'm unlikely to contribute to the rising numbers of RCFs, can't afford one.......yet !

Hello Geoff. That's very interesting, how do you find out about the numbers ? I don't wish to hi-jack this thread, but I bought a IS250C last month and I don't think they're too common either ? I'd love to know the number of vehicles on the road or SORNed. I'd love an ISF btw !!

That's because I'm nearly sixty and associate Lexus with the LS400, LS430 ranges and also the GS ranges. Perhaps the popularity of the CT range has lessened Lexus' standing in the prestige hierarchy ?

Think it's beyond a panel beater. I agree about buying it back, after you've researched possible costs of repair. Would be a shame for it to become a scrapper. Good luck and let us know please.

Sorry, I can't tell you where to source a replacement. What's the problem with the original seal ? I recently bought this in anticipation of potential problems with the seals on my IS250C. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221825622392?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT If your seal isn't split or broken, this product may bring it back to life again ?

My motor's getting on a bit compared to you guys, but I don't find the satnav easy to use. I've tried it twice, but now I always use Sygic on my phone. Does everything I want for a one off fee.

The mileage isn't really the issue in my opinion. Particularly if, like me, you only cover 6k or 7k miles pa. A full, regular service history every 10k and just one or two owners would be good. Hopefully the price reflects the mileage too.

Welcome Shaun........what a bargain..........does your Dad have any more cars to sell ? The IS220D is not without its problems, well documented on here, but I'm sure your Dad will have primed you about them.

To be fair, I've only tried the Lexus satnav a couple of times, without reading the manual (War and Peace). I prefer Sygic on my phone because I'm familiar with it and it does everything I want it to (comfort zone). I don't subscribe to cool gadgets.....sorry !
