  1. Try a few commas, full stops and capital letters please. Your posts would then be enjoyable to read !
  2. I assume the car you're interested in has an asking price, put a cheeky bid in if you're interested in buying. The dialogue that will ensue will give a good indication of what the seller wants. Only you can decide if this matches what you're willing to spend. When I purchase my cars (always used), I try to predict what I can achieve in a sale situation in two years time (i.e. research cars that are 2 years older too).
  3. I've only had +ve comments too. I think it compliments the illuminated sill plate.
  4. Pleased to help Dave.
  5. Mine is on 35,000 after 6 years. At my present rate (8,000mpa), I have another 12+ years to go. Reassuring !!
  6. You're that keen ??? !!! If it was a car I wanted, I'd be there yesterday !!
  7. Good decision.....hope you find a cracking IS250 !
  8. I've driven company cars for most of my life. Sierras, Vectras, Accords, Passats etc. Since then I've owned a swb Pajero (needed to get the fwd bit out of my system), two Saab 9-5s, then two Saab 9-3 Aeros an estate and a convertible (Mrs and I had one each). Just over a year ago got a 2nd gen IS250 saloon and loved it. Had the convertible for just a couple of months now, looking forward to some nice weather.....hopefully !!!!
  9. IIRC when I fitted to my IS250, I had to prise apart the connectors a little to get the lamp to fit. It's only 3mm!!
  10. Where's "Unread Content" ?
  11. Where's "Latest Posts" gone ? I always looked at this as it enabled me to read what was being said in ALL areas of the site.
  12. " grease, grease, grease with a suitable grease for the surfaces you encounter. " Your words, not mine Garry ! I speak from the experience of "de-greasing" the mirrors on my last IS250. The nylon mechanisms were caked with crud and grime adhering to the "grease" Once cleaned and "lubricated" with a suitable lubricant everything was fine. Silicon spray proved to be the "suitable lubricant" My current IS250C will get the treatment very soon. I didn't want Neil to use a viscous grease compound as he'd find himself back at square one in time.
  13. Well done Neil. Once you've cleaned all the moving parts, I'd be reluctant to use any form of grease as a lubricant, it just attracts grime. Get a can of silicon lubricant spray, it's so slippery that hardly anything sticks to it. :)
  14. Think I'll get Mrs ledzep to knit a pair of mirror mittens :winky: I could join them with string so they don't get lost ! I have some leds to replace the puddle lights, I'll clean and silicon spray the mechanism when I have it apart.
  15. The 250 SE-L has the front screen electrically heated just beneath the wipers....very effective it is too. Yes Garry, I did suspect I was answering my own question :) Thanks for your replies.
  16. This morning, my door mirrors were iced solid in the folded position. This occurred a few days ago and I was able to free them with a little persuasion ! Today however, I was fearful of them wrenching off the door if I applied too much force. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution ? Is the solution just to de-activate the function until icy mornings have passed ?
  17. Have driven company cars for the most part. Sierras, Passats, Accords etc. When it came to owning my own car about 10 years ago I went for Saab. Have had 2 Saab 9-5s and the last two we had (at the same time) were 2 9-3 Aeros, a Spacewagon (estate) and a Convertible. Marvellous cars, if they were still being made I probably wouldn't have discovered Lexus. Have no inclination whatsoever for BMW or Audi, I am unable to drive in such a selfish and arrogant manner !
  18. Have you had new rear number plate, attached with sticky tape ? I've heard of water ingress through holes previously used to attach the number plate. Just a thought....
  19. I bought this and it works a treat in the boot of my IS250. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171923362167?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  20. I took a punt on some from eBay......cheap as chips ! They're bright and white. Work well.
  21. I want one !
  22. I have an IS250C SE-L. I'm unaware of all the differences. The main reason I have an SE-L is the memory seat function. My wife has a very different driving position to me and we drive the car equally. I expected the SE-L to have the ML stereo, but mine doesn't. Had the ML set up in my previous IS250 saloon, I can't tell the difference if I'm honest, that's despite me being a bit of a HiFi nerd. I suspect the TPMS will be a SE-L item. Can't throw any more light.....sorry !
  23. In my experience, a holding deposit is also a refundable deposit. It guarantees you first refusal on the car. Lesson learnt I suppose. Another one will come along I'm sure.
  24. Thanks Paul, no apology necessary. I just want to power a front camera and only when it's being driven. Can't install a rear one as mine's a convertible IS250. I have figured out the route for the cable, but just need to know how to escape it from the centre storage box. Normski's link looks promising and I'll investigate that on Wednesday when I'm next off work.
