Had mine serviced last month and nearside rear caliper was diagnosed as siezed.
Goes in on Friday to have it replaced......fortunately I have a Lexus warranty on my IS !
Only seen a RC in the showroom. David is correct, same applies to my IS250 convertible. Very large doors and a centre console which is insurmountable.
I'd still have one if I could afford one though .
Appears to be an echo around here.
Duncan, doesn't sound right, nearly 3,000 revs at 70 mph.....is it stuck in 5th gear, not changing up to 6th ? Try it manually using the paddles to make sure.
Didn't say they don't make a difference. I said the type of road surface contributes MORE to the noise. If it's a noisy concrete road, sure some tyres will be quieter than others, but it'll still be noisy because of the road.
At 70 mph mine's doing about 2,200 rpm, your revs seem excessive at that speed.
In my view tyre noise is generated more by the type of road surface than the type/brand of tyre.
I'm not familiar with the equipment you mention. However, I would connect to the optical output from the tv, at least that's how I connect my HiFi up.
Connecting to the tv should eliminate any potential lip-sync problems. I'm no expert, but those are my thoughts.
Let us know how you get on.
With your permission Stu, I'll be following this thread with interest.
We plan our next vehicle to be an RX next May time, looking at spending £20k ish too.
Did you spot the pdf tht Monte linked on one of the threads...very useful list of models, specs and dates ?
Drivers floor mat could just be upside down.
Yes, does look high. I'd have thought smaller diameter wheels would have been married with a higher profile tyre ?
I live in south west Wales and I travelled to Mansfield for my first IS saloon and went to Southport for my current convertible.
I agree with Keith, your link is to a car I don't recognise as a SE-L. I couldn't see evidence of the memory seat switches either. Keith's link looks the business !
Just had 7 year intermediate service on Tuesday. Car has only done 41,000 miles.
Nearside rear brake caliper was diagnosed as seized. A replacement caliper has been authorised under the warranty, I just need to book it in for the work.
Warranty is proving to be good value for me.....it doesn't expire until November 2017 .
Yes, keep the badges.
Unbadged Beemers just tell me that the driver is embarrassed about the car they have as they couldn't afford the one they really wanted !!
According to the "How many left" website, there are 840 in the UK that have been taxed this year.
Had mine nearly a year and never seen another one on the road. I am in SW Wales though !
