  1. I can't imagine what was so special about the B&W kit in the Jag ? My previous IS250 saloon had the ML kit and my present IS250C has the 11 speaker set up. Happy with both. A car environment is probably the worst place to try to get true HiFi sound quality. Lots of extraneous noise, especially your engine and exhaust !!!! I'm a bit of an audiophile at home, enjoying great music reproduction......music in the car will always be a compromise to me. Can't imagine how to upgrade the ML kit in the context of music in a moving vehicle ??? I'd be interested to know what you do Andy ? Just my two pennerth
  2. I rarely listen to music in the car.....I wouldn't listen if I had an ISF.....the exhaust note would be my top of the pops
  3. The last paragraph is the nonsense. A vehicle with an incomplete service record can receive a major service from the retailing dealer and then be declared as an "Approved Pre-owned Lexus ". No matter that it didn't receive a service between 10k and 30k miles, it's all fixed by the latest service.....bullocks !!
  4. Haha ! Don't always drive like that. In this part of the country the roads are twisty and bendy, there's often only a short distance to the next bend so you have to make the car go a bit to overtake safely ! I think it does it good "stretching its legs" once in a while.
  5. My convertible is heavier than the saloon, but I'm no boy racer and very happy with the performance. I drive mostly around rural west Wales and I can overtake tractors with ease. I'm not averse to booting it to over 4k revs if necessary and it brings a smile to my face when I do .
  6. Too many variables Jack. Go on comparethemeerkat or similar, only takes ten minutes or so. What car is it ?
  7. As has been alluded to, It's not the address of the Lexus dealer that matters, it's the quality of the staff ! I have no complaints about Lexus Cardiff, always looked after me well. A special mention for Natalie and Charlotte who man the service reception desk.
  8. Nadolig Llawen.....that's my second Merry Christmas to everyone.
  9. Great ! Hope your brother showed you how to do it in case there's a next time ?
  10. Runs ok on my pc. I didn't consider anything too close to the kerb. Like John, I was also watching for a jolt of direction.....didn't witness any. I'd be so angry if this happened to me, hope you get it resolved.
  11. Happy Christmas everyone !
  12. Thoroughly enjoy my 250C, about time Lexus rejuvenated the convertible. I liked the Sportcross too, room for that in the range as well.
  13. My work colleagues can't believe that I'm comfortable running a 2.5l V6 Automatic ! My commute is only 5 miles each way and mixed with a few longer runs I'm averaging around 30mpg. BUT....my car doesn't go to the garage for repairs as often as theirs ! My annual mileage is only around 8k and I'm very happy with the Lexus experience. Others don't know what they're missing.....shhh, or they'll all want one
  14. I agree, I had ML on my previous IS250 and I don't discern a difference in my current 11 speaker set-up. I'm not an audio engineer, but a discerning audiophile hifi nerd and in my opinion the noisy (relative to the home) and awkward shaped environment doesn't lend itself to top audio performance. I personally wouldn't pay extra for ML, especially when a 12 speaker system with subwoofer (Pioneer I believe) is available.
  15. Not sure of the make of my dash-cam, Chinese off eBay. I wired it in myself, my car is an IS250 convertible. Get yourself a set of trim removal tools, they are essential to avoid scarring your trim. I tucked the cable from the camera into the lining above the windscreen, down the passenger A pillar, along under the sill scuff plate, under the passenger seat and connected with the 12v socket in the under armrest storage box. Works a treat with no visible cables.
  16. Expensive problem if you have TPMS fitted.
  17. I used to travel frequently to my daughter's in Guildford. Mostly M4 at 70mph (ish) on cruise when possible and I'd achieve a tank average of around 38mpg. I always considered that very good for a 2.5l V6 Auto !
  18. So, what mpg did you achieve ? Or am I being a bit thick here
  19. My IS250 will be a wee bit slower than yours Linas because it's heavier. I'm not really interested in whose car is quicker or sounds better, I just like my car. I do most of my driving in rural Wales, and yes the engine does sound good at 4,000+ rpm. I don't take the revs that high to hear it, I'm more interested in overtaking the tractor safely !
  20. The 0-60 time on my IS250 convertible is somewhere between 8 and 9 seconds, but it's great fun to drive, especially when the sun is shining !!
  21. Good point Colin.....didn't think that one through fully
  22. The biggest stumbling block in my opinion is that in this country (UK), we require the steering wheel on the right of the vehicle. There is huge cost involved in converting from LHD and that is for a minority audience. With just a few exceptions, vehicles are required mostly in LHD around the world. FWIW, I'd jump at the prospect of owning an IS350 .
  23. As Chris says, you become accustomed to such things. I also value the door mirrors dimming too. The sensor you refer to Noobie may be the rain sensor on the windscreen, it's certainly in that area.
