  1. Personally, I think mudflaps are in keeping with NX and RX vehicles.....but not saloons.
  2. You misunderstand Noobie.....YOU need to do the shopping
  3. You need to do the weekly shopping more often
  4. I use this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wurth-Gummi-Pflege-Stick-Rubber-Door-Seal-Restorer-75ml-/261978299882?hash=item3cff1f9dea:g:aJwAAOSwjVVVsOSf I also use it on the seals in my convertible roof....works a treat
  5. Yes, I have some Bosch ones, they are very good. They look crap though, just a skeleton construction like Verbout referred to on his. I used them to pass the mot then ordered some cheaper, better looking ones .
  6. Dodo Juice arrived today. Having used other products, the dirt is not bad at the moment. I'm off work on Friday, I'll give it a go then......camera is ready.
  7. Don't think he's having problems Mike ? A little editing of the standard text required
  8. The IS250 has wider tyres on the rear, not sure about IS200. Sounds like you may have a front and a rear if the tyres are different widths ?
  9. My mistake....
  10. Standard hooked arm on my IS. Bought replacements from eBay.
  11. Me too. No cable visible other than where it goes under the passenger seat.
  12. I'll get a film for the Box Brownie
  13. Have ordered some Dodo Juice. Hope it makes the dirt in my leather extinct ! I'll let you know.
  14. No, they're surface cracks. Still feels very supple, but the cracks look very dark compared to the light colour of the leather. Testimony to the first owner I guess, 33k in 6 years.
  15. I have researched the GS250 with a view to it being my next car. Like Duncan, the strengths of the hybrid system with regard to mpg don't add up in my driving circumstances. A similar aged GS300h or GS450h will be c£5k more expensive.....that buys a lot of fuel ! My current IS250 convertible is 90kgs heavier than a GS250 and its performance is more than sufficient for my needs.
  16. Maybe the mpg difference is due to you filling up with supermarket fuel and not a normal brand like Shell or Texaco ? There are many factors that affect mpg and your limited sample of low mpg is too small to be conclusive. A month on one fuel followed by a month on another fuel would be more indicative of true mpg (assuming similar temperatures).
  17. My IS250C is of the same vintage as yours Frank. The driver's seat bolster on mine is showing wear too, with dark surface cracks. I've searched for something to rejuvenate the colour, but been unsuccessful. Let me know if you find something please. I have used Gliptone Liquid Leather products for many years. It keeps the leather supple and smelling nice, but doesn't do anything for the colour.
  18. I work in the bathroom industry and BSM is Bath Shower Mixer.......what is it on a Lexus please ?
  19. Lexus Cardiff do
  20. Lexus are just as guilty of over tightening the wheel nuts as tyre bays. Every time my vehicle goes for new tyres or recent new caliper, I check the wheel nuts. I always have to use a six foot bar on the tool kit wrench, sometimes hanging my weight (90kgs) on the end too ! I always then set each nut to 76lb ft so that wheels can be removed readily. Don't know why I bother !!! I don't have a spare wheel, just a can of gunk
  21. My vehicle was with Lexus for a couple of days last week for repair. I did 160 miles in the CT they lent me. It is definitely NOT an upgrade to the IS ! Pleased to hand it back.
  22. I don't think there's anything "ideal" about my car having 90k on the clock ! Much happier with 44k I agree that a car needs to be used regularly to keep everything "supple". For the first 6 years of its life, my car was driven by a lady going to work and back, the shops and friends etc., it was serviced annually by Lexus at about 5,500 miles per annum. Her hubby drove a larger Lexus and that vehicle was used for their family excursions. I use it daily for work commutes and all other trips (our only car), We do just 10k per annum. SO, you can't say my car hasn't been looked after nor used regularly. Maybe my water pump was a Friday afternoon assembly . The calipers are a legend in their own right, as everyone acknowledges. We plan to move the convertible on in a couple of months time. 2009, 7 Lexus stamps, 44k miles, one previous, warranty to 11/17. Think I'll have far more takers than your advert for a 90k car Noobie .
