  1. Who called you a Jessy ?........or you talking about me ?
  2. Had the problem on my first IS250. I remember it was a heart in mouth experience releasing the mirror glass from its holder, but once that was done it was quite easy. The mechanism is a combination of worm gears and cogs. I used an old toothbrush and mild detergent to get everything clean (it was full of gunk !). After drying it all, I sprayed with silicone and everything worked perfectly thereafter. Just takes a wee bit of confidence to tackle the job.
  3. Follow your head
  4. You're inferring poor quality of the Chinese set.....it's not !! AND it's a tenth of the price with probably all you'll need.
  5. Might take a couple of weeks or so to reach you.....it's from China ! If you search eBay I'm sure you'll find a UK supplier.
  6. This is what I have. It's great for pushing the cable in behind trim and it's good for removing bits. Like the internal light lenses so you can replace bulbs with led. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pc-Auto-Car-Radio-Door-Clip-Panel-Trim-Dash-Audio-Removal-Installer-Pry-Tool-UK/351570741489?_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEF
  7. 3M pad here too.
  8. Excellent work Normski. Particularly like the wheel centres.
  9. Haven't watched TG since it stopped being about cars and more about three buffoons trying to entertain Sun readers using cars as their props. I looked once since the demise of the buffoons, only difference is absence of previous buffoons.
  10. You won't have a Lexus when you've done all that !
  11. Couldn't resist posting. Pleased you all like it.
  12. Correct. I think the 2012 and earlier vehicles have the correct spacing and hook type fastener. I've drawn a blank looking for alternative suppliers to Lexus that will fit mine. Lexus were "unresponsive" when my supplier asked for info......hardly surprising really !
  13. No, my seats are black leather. I wanted to lighten the interior of the car and the headlining is grey. So I wanted black seats "sandwiched" by grey above and below. The trim on the mats I chose to go with the exterior colour of Garnet Red. Read my post Rayaan, the fixings in the floor are the wrong distance apart and the supplied receptors are not compatible with the clips in my floor. I don't wish to molest the interior fittings in my car, the supplier of these mats assured me that they were compatible. They aren't and he refunded in full ! I'm still looking for a supplier of mats other than Lexus. The ones I have are still available to a member here if they will fit.
  14. Clearly an ex BMW or Audi owner.....hasn't got out of his old habits yet !
  15. At first glance this RX looks ready equipped to deal with the sky rats ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-56-LEXUS-RX-400H-3-3-SE-CVT-5DR-/112345156147?hash=item1a284b0a33:g:S3gAAOSwB-1Y0~P5
  16. I ordered a set of mats from a well respected eBay seller for my RX450h Luxury March 2013. They were £40 delivered and I was very pleased with the quality when they arrived. I have a full set of black genuine Lexus mats in the vehicle, but I'll preserve these for when I sell the car in a few years time. I vacuumed the car ready for the new mats. Close inspection revealed round hole fasteners in the mats for hook fasteners when my car has oval rotating clips ! I contacted the seller and he said "no problem" and immediately supplied oval receptors. I swapped these fasteners and thought I was home and dry.......but no !! The fasteners in the mats are at 300mm centres but the oval clips on the car floor are at 285mm centres, so they don't line up !! Furthermore, the oval receptors subsequently supplied are too thick anyway for the Lexus clip tp protrude sufficiently to rotate. Hope you're following all of this ? Pics to follow. Advised supplier and he said he'd contact Lexus for info. This wasn't forthcoming, so he said he couldn't help me further and I could keep the mats as spares, he refunded me in full ! Two points: Can anyone advise me where I may purchase a set of grey mats to fit my vehicle, but not at Lexus prices ? If anyone can genuinely use these mats in their vehicle (I think RX450h pre 2012) then PM me and you can have them for postage costs. I do expect to see said vehicle in your Avatar
  17. Looks lovely, great colour combination. I wouldn't worry about the mileage, but check for a full service history. The description is a hotch potch of inaccuracies so I'd check everything out fully. It refers to fabric upholstery and manually operated driver's seat.....the car clearly has leather and the driver seat has memory function so must be electric. P.S. I haven't a clue whether the price is right or not.
  18. Welcome Alan. My first one was a 2008 IS250 SE-L just like yours. On my third Lexus now.
  19. Yeah, very considerate. Unfortunately, your neighbouring parkers will still bash the hell out of yours though. Happens to us all unfortunately.
  20. Welcome Saul. I'd take the family along to try the cars out for size first. The IS250 isn't blessed with a lot of room in the back, so if your children are approaching teenage years you may need the GS. Whether you go hybrid or not will be up to you, do your research relative to the use you put the car to. t's good that you "quite like the idea of an auto"
  21. I found the Gliptone cleaner a bit "gloopy" for the perforated leather and didn't clean too well either.. Others on here have recommended Dodo Juice and I have to say it does a lovely job. After the Dodo treatment, my leather looked very grey and flat but the Gliptone conditioner brought it back to the shiny black that it should be. I think the aroma may be a bit Marmite, but I like it.
  22. My mirrors fold when I lock the car. It's a 2013 Luxury and has an "Auto" button next to the mirror switch on the door. I believe this is what puts the mirrors in to "Auto" function. Maybe not all the models have this function ?
  23. What a well organised garage you have ! The car's not bad either
  24. I'd be careful, I've heard of electrodes dropping off cheap Chinese plugs. I wouldn't just read about boot space, I'd go and have a look.
