  1. Great price. Most people have a Halfords nearby and you don't have to wait for delivery. Good post.
  2. I love mine too, but you need to edit the title !😉
  3. Great for 10 litres to get you home and fill your boots with rolls and ice cream while your there ! Swings and roundabouts I spose.
  4. More chance of winning the lottery I'd say ! Filled rolls and ice cream very reasonable.......but fuel
  5. I think it's inevitable that EVs will become more prevalent as time goes on and I'm interested, but not now, too much in its infancy imo. I also don't think the negativity in this thread is solely aimed at the Tesla, it's a remarkable piece of kit on paper (no actual experience for me). I think a lot of the negativity is in response to one guy banging on about Tesla constantly to the point of tedium. This is a Lexus forum.
  6. Congratulations I'm delighted with mine which I've had for 15 months now. Hope you're equally happy Vladimir.
  7. Don't think many of us wish to understand !
  8. Please, just go to the Tesla site and leave us Lexus guys alone. If I (or anyone else) buys a Tesla, we'll see you there. Tedious to the extreme !!!!!!!!!!
  9. I don't usually have a loan car, just a ride into Cardiff with Tony. However, if I needed a loan car.....just legal with a wheel on each corner will do !
  10. Should be straightforward purchasing the extended warranty from Lexus. My first IS250 had the final two services from an independent, but I still purchased the Lexus warranty. On this occasion, they wanted to inspect the car before agreeing to it.
  11. I think 2006 and previous has the £300 roadtax and post 2006 is the £500 jobbie. (IS250 manual)
  12. I have no experience whatsoever with the IS220D other than the extensive threads I've read on here. On the evidence of what I've read, DON'T buy an IS220D, especially as your journeys are short. I've had a couple of IS250s and they are great cars in my opinion. Someone else with Lexus diesel experience will be along soon I'm sure.
  13. I believe you are correct when referring to a "new" car warranty. Here we are discussing a "used" car warranty. That's my understanding.
  14. I don't see anything stopping me getting say a replacement brake light sorted at Halfords, or anywhere else for that matter. My dealer is sixty miles away from me, so strictly dealer issues only get the 120 miles round trip.
  15. I leave bad language to other people. I've made a couple of pertinent points without stooping so low !
  16. That's a very fair point you make John. Also your subsequent point about the condenser. However, our vehicles are very sophisticated bits of kit and £1,000 buys you little at a Lexus dealer if something goes wrong. One of my previous claims on my IS250 was for a £700+ headlamp assembly because it was fogging with condensation. That's not even a fault associated with sophisticated bits of kit !! Peace of mind suits me thank you.
  17. Thanks for the clarification Colin.
  18. Bought my RX 15 months ago and put 24 months warranty on it. I've not made a claim and I haven't called upon the Roadside Assistance service either. But, I'm still happy as it gives me peace of mind. Previously I had two IS250s and I put warranty on those too. In both cases the claims exceeded the premium, so very happy. I also have home and contents insurance and I'm very happy not to make a claim ! There is no correct answer, it's up to you David.
  19. The IS250 had the six cylinder engine. The IS300h is a four cylinder. I guess it's the same engine in the NX but maybe tuned differently.
  20. I agree that the Saab seats are hard to beat. I had two 9-5s and two 9-3s before switching to Lexus four or five years ago. I had an IS250 saloon first, then the convertible IS250C and the seats were fine. What did my sore back was the lowness to the ground. Bought the RX fifteen months ago and we went on a trip to Scotland last summer. My poorly back suffered nothing from the RX seats but the hotel beds killed it !! It was a true pleasure to get back home to my water bed. The RX continues to cosset me ! Hope you soon become accustomed to your RX seats Dave.
  21. I'd like to know too. Is the lower number just the output of the petrol engine and the higher number includes the power of the electric motors too ?
  22. My RX is on a 13 plate and I bought V5CWM for it. Mostly to disguise the age, but also CWM in Welsh means "valley", so it had local significance. Wish it was V6 though !! Cost me less than £200 and I will probably retain it for life.
  23. Yes, try an RX. Like driving an armchair ! You may have to settle for a slightly older one due to budget constraints.....that's what I did and couldn't be happier. Our new granddaughter arrived mid-January and everything works well.
