My last job was a recovery patrol with the AA for 12 years and in all that time i never came across anybody that had sucessfully used the repair kit or slime.this is because by the time someone found somewhere safe to stop following a puncture, the tyre was usually unrepairable.both methods are usually only effective if you spot a nail in your tyre and can manage to get to a tyre dealership a short distance away.we did not carry spare wheels or other means of repair.the main reason i ask is because they already supply runflats on the UX why not on the UBX ?

para999 started following hopefully this is the right section , not impressed , design sat nav and RSA. and 1 other

tried out the new LBX premium plus. found the drive quite good and responsive but the two things i don't like is firstly the ordering page for a new vehicle i notice the only included colour in the price is the solid yellow. previously when i bought my present UX the incuded colours were either black or white. with both models having to pay extra for any other variants. i ask how many people would want a vivid yellow car and would you want to pay an extra £700 for black or £900 for white, both of which are basic colours. secondly i notice this model is not fitted with runflat tyres and it seems spacesavers are not available. some might not like runflats but it's better than being stuck in a rural location with a puncture and having to wait for recovery to a tyre garage ( which is not open) after 6pm. not being able to use the repair kit as they are totally useless in my experience.

thankyou for your reply it's interesting that my last car seemed to be accurate but i do wonder as this system seems to be triggered by the camera seeing the roadsign itself how it can trigger a warning if you go over that speed limit if it cant actually register a speed limit as it can't see a sign as is the case in my original post. i happen to be going into the dealership tomorrow to have a front dash cam fitted as my own dash can i can't use because they have moved the position of the cigarette lighter socket in the new model.i will ask them about the RSA and see what they say.

i previously owned a UX250h fsport and have recently changed to the UX250h fsport design. my question is about the sat nav and road sign assist.the handbook says:- 'the RSA system recognises specific road signs using the front camera and/or navigation system ,when speed limit information is available, to provide information to the driver via the display'. i noticed on my last car that the speed limit was displayed regardless of where you were.e.g when coming out of the dealership onto the main road it flashed the speed limit even when there wasn't a sign nearby for the camera to pick up. on this car it only shows when there is a sign for it to see. is this unique to this model or is there something missing in the sat nav settings ?

one other thing to consider about the RX and insurance is that along with the CT they are a target for cat thefts and as the price would be over £1,000 to fit another they could be back unless you were to take other forms of prevention e.g a catloc, but how many would think of fitting one from new ( the car) i attended 2 times to the same vehicle after the cat had been stolen.

thankyou for your reply your correct it goes off after starting
-
yes you could be right it doesn't mention in the handbook that this will happen ( the flashing light) that's why i thought there might be a fault. as bezzer says his does just the same so obviously it is normal. thanks for your reply
-
well if yours is the same obviously there is'nt a fault with mine thanks for that
-
if you mean soonever it's switched off completely that is what mine is doing. i used the key to get into the car to have a look in the manual and sat there for about 15 mins reading it and all this time the light was flashing. never noticed if this happened with my previous ux but just seems different to other makes which normally flashes when the alarm is armed.
-
this is my second UX i've just bought its the design version new. there are a few things different in this model compared to the last one i had fsport. one thing i can't get my head round is the alarm indicator on the lower dash panel above one of the heater switches. it flashes even when it's not set.i.e the doors locked. sat in the car with the doors unlocked it's constantly flashing. i've contacted the dealership and told them the problem and i dont think the guy has grasped what i'm saying. he says the alarm will be on regardless of what the light says. ive written back saying surely it shouldn't be flashing if i'm sat in the car with the doors unlocked. ive had no reply. has anybody got one of these models that can confirm the state of the alarm indicator with the doors unlocked. many thanks

hi thanks for your reply yes your right it will be a design. wanted to get the fsport itself but to add the extras was going to take me into the higher RFL band which is unreasonable in my eyes £500 extra for 5 years is no joke. i also have seen the aftermarket systems you are talking about but i assumed, rightly or wrongly, that getting the bigger screen might just have been plug and play apart from the usual canbus setiings.years ago you used to pay extra to have a certain thing, on a new car that is,fitted by lexus individually like the upgrade sound sytem but now if you want an extra one thing you have to have others as well i.e a sunroof. i can't see the point on one of those if you've got aircon. anyhow will leave it there thanks again for your reply

quick question plz. are there any garages that work on retro fits for lexus cars other than the main dealers who don't do retro fits. funny that as they advertise fitting dash cams ? want to update to a 12" touch screen instead of the standard 8" for my model. its not available in the model i have chosen.
-
my choice was the same as yours but after visiting the dealership i've decided the FSPORT Design is the best option for me. might i suggest you try and have another think about the solid paint as i was shown a car that was only 2 years old in that finish and it was not in a good condition.
-
you talked about " my world" well i've just been to the dealership and got well over £3,000 off a factory order, not on pcp either, so is "my world" that bad.
-
you have got my point about the price including the solid colour and also the fact you have to pay extra for the paint i want but for some reason you seem to be missing my last point. so what you are saying its fine to pay for something you havn't got ?i.e the solid colour which is included in the original price. if there was some discount off the original price to allow for the fact you aren't getting something you paid for then fine. you are paying for a paint finish you don't want on top of the extra for the paint you do want. would you pay for someone to respray your car in a colour you don't want and then pay again to have it painted in a colour you do want. i have an appointment with the dealership later today i will be asking the same question to them. i had a situation with another brand of high end car and complained about it and things were put right which included reverting back to pre recall. people had the same attitude as you but it ended up with a recall by the manufacturer to other people who owned the same vehicle to reverse the recall. so the motto is if you dont ask you dont get. i am being perfectly serious and i didnt ask for your sarcasm !
