  1. whatever about getting good custom, I think Mcgards are too much trouble, I certainly dont want to see one again.
  2. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/783563-wife-drove-over-a-small-pothole-and-the-damage-was-10-153-lexus-is-250-please-look-7.html must be impressive pot holes there.
  3. yeah from what i have read here, i would look long and hard before buying it. Drive a is250 and make your mind up.
  4. Job done, will have to wait for these to bed in before i can try them out but the mechanic said they are incredible.
  5. F sport is a trim level, as in minor modifications, like pedals and different bumpers. The core of the car is the same. You can easily go all out and convert a se l into a f sport and keep all the goodies that come with your car but I don't think it's worth it. I would rather just buy a different car that's why I am eying out a isf. Some people go crazy on mods and the money could be better spent towards a new motor.
  6. A f sport is basically the same as a se l anyway, put uprated springs on se l and you have a f sport. It's not like the engine is different. Show me links of people who have put a full 2014 bumper onto a gen 2 lexus out of interest. There is quite a difference between doing things like brake pedals and the like and going all out and putting on a custom bumper that needs to be moulded into shape to fit, it won't be easy to sell it on as no one will want it. Putting on coil overs is what I would do not this.
  7. Lexus is, you really act like a child. Can't believe you own an isf with your comments. FYI , I never used carbon wrap, never got them alloys after I stopped drinking Belgian beer I came to my senses. The Honda s2k tail pipe tips are nice. Nothing wrong with them. this thread is turning into a farce, I just got mtec discs and ebc pads, is that going to be against me too..?! That bumper conversion is over the top, I think that's the general consensus here.
  8. I think its over kill, doing up alloys is one thing but this is a totally different ball game and it will not increase its resale value, more likely reduce it. But whatever works for the owner., I am also against people going mental with carbon wraps, I think there is a line that can be crossed when it comes to car mods.
  9. I think its over kill myself, the car is not a 2014 car, no amount of modding can change that but each to their own. I would rather put on some uprated suspension or something the meddling with bumpers.
  10. that seems massive !, when you say the quality is very good, i doubt how good it can get? I got an 0806 and its very good, i mean 2650 x 1080. If its as good as you say for almost a tenner well you cant complain. I took power from my rear view mirror so I have no need to go into 12v outlets.
  11. i always try my best to park well away from everyone else in public car parks as general rule of thumb is 90% of people couldnt give a f*** about your motor. end result is any dings, broken mirrors will cost you so i just try to keep sane by parking away from anyone, especially far from vauxhall people carriers and trolleys.
  12. brute force! thats what he said, outcome could have been much much worse! My alloy is intact apart from a nick on the rim near the bolt, i am getting it refurbed from the same body shop and that i hope is that. thanks for the advice and interest.!
  13. quoted £140 from my mechanic, local guy to work. does a very good job. Am getting everything done Friday.
  14. good news i got it off from Lexus hedge end, £20, He said was over torqued. Garage denied all responsibility, dont they all. I have ordinary nuts on now which is a good job as I have new lock nuts in the post. Glad its over.!
  15. my first port of call is the body shop who done this damage, i am still owned a job from them also, so its awkward. Its pretty clear they tightened this way too much, they will just point the blame on me now that the lock key is broken. Is there any point calling my breakdown service? I am with chris knott.
  16. would MIG welding damage the alloy? I realised I need to do this on the 4 wheels as my oem lock nut is totally sheared.
  17. ok so, a nut is welded onto the existing lock nut then this is quickly stuck to the alloy nut and removed?! looks like i could try get friendly with a local garage, i am reluctant to get onto lexus as i got 4 new lock nuts on the way, these OEM ones are terrible.
  18. yes, but how can a nut adhere to the threads of the one i am tyring to get off, i am not getting this, else i am thick...! if it involves welding the nut onto the one stuck on the alloy i would rather not go that route with risk of damaging my wheel.
