  1. my navi is working fine since i done a diy job, certainly took longer than 40 minutes though
  2. interesting, I did not even know this. Think the one you have is more use to me.
  3. changing the shocks is not really for a novice tbh, there is a risk of getting some nasty injury. That car was not looked after very well, whatever about lexus history and even worse so that all these things are happening at 45k miles which is really nothing on a lexus petrol. If that car was put through a MOT I am pretty sure it would have had a few advisories (at the very least), did you not get a MOT done?
  4. sorry, guess just annoyed about this. But anyway I am going to drop a firm worded message to the property developers.
  5. I cant help but think you got a very bad car that was not looked after, what possessed you to buy this car in the first place? Its pretty much a buyers market out there with thousands of cars and quite a few is250s all over England. there is really no excuse to get a one in poor condition.
  6. I hate Guy Martin , *****. Most annoying guy ever, all he does is enter world record this, that and the other with his stupid mop of hair and annoying grin.
  7. Im not paying anything and certainly not seeing a solicitor. Anyone with 2 good eyes can see the parking spaces are inadequate, don't need a solicitor for that. The ethic people already have a complaint from me, any fines I get I am going to keep and just send them back to the address they come from. This parking fiasco is on going and my estate people know of it too.
  8. how does one install these as mine looks useless, it does not have a 'pocket' to put stuff into. http://cdn3.bigcommerce.com/s-h0vqz/products/143/images/395/LX470-CargoNet-10F355-6x4__34605.1421094647.1280.1280.jpg?c=2 I can hook it onto the floor of the car but there is nothing like I seen on photos where you can put stuff inside it?
  9. seriously, I would like to see you take out a navi unit, swap over the display control board sub PCB 462461-4600-1 onto it and put it back in again, in 40 minutes. good luck with that, I don't believe you, and my background is Electronics. People need to be realistic on these forums and not talking waffle.
  10. These people I am not paying any fines and will continue to park else where illegally. Its not possible to park my car in this space, I don't think its fit for purpose. http://ethicsgroup.co.uk/
  11. Its not the over growth, the kerb is a problem. Even if the kerb was gone it is very difficult to park the car there with 3 cars behind me. Anyone is welcome to try, I am quite an experienced driver. The fiat is way too close but its more than that.
  12. That is all done, I mentioned the kerb. They never listened to me of course. Photos and all that have been sent. I am going to 'illegally' park in the area now as i have no other place to go.
  13. 3 cars next to me, fiat punto in blue and another fiat 500 i think. then its a kerb. Whoever designed this.........
  14. Guys, I have this ridiculous tight parking spot here, last one in the corner next to the Fiat. Up to now it was just about doable, but just this week a new car has parked into the free space behind me (next to Ford people carrier), I needed that to park into my spot. Result, pretty impossible to use my designated bay. i pay give or take £800/900 a month to stay here and this is brutal. I got a £100 fine this morning as I could not park in my bay yesterday evening. I complained to the company issuing tickets and said I am going to appeal any tickets coming my way as I cant park in my space. Unless you can magically lift my car into the spot. Whoever designed that place is thick, there is a huge garden there that should have been used for parking spaces, I spoke with some people around there and they said it was bad. Unreal.
  15. badge snobbery is unreal in the UK, Lexus make very good cars. The LS400 Is legendary. It is better than many recent BMWs. I compare this snobbery to people buying iphones, they are not very good and way over priced, specification a few years old etc, but its just people being brainwashed into thinking they are getting something that is superior, which is often far from the case.
  16. I am happy enough with castrol, I never heard of that oil but it looks pretty good. 20 litres for 60 quid is very good going.
  17. 10k miles is a tad too much for my liking. as for oil colour it depends on the engine doesn't it. Diesels and tractors will go black almost immediately, petrols will gradually darken but I am surprised mine is still relatively glistening, guess it means the internal components are relatively clean and the engine is in very good condition to have not used up anything since. 5w30 is fine for most petrol cars in England, depending on how much you want to spend for grades, I use castrol.
  18. well not really, going up could be anything. I think its not clear what current cars will be taxed at, ie people who wont be buying a car in 2017.
  19. I got 5w30 castrol edge. I put in oil last september, I checked my oil recently and its right up at the max and almost crystal clear. amazing, I only have done about 4k miles but thinking of getting oil done in Ireland in a few weeks, am doing a road trip. as for 0w20 oil, just no...! definately don't need 0w20 oil here.!
  20. I have a DAS polisher, I have a few compounds too (not sure which, all my stuff is in Ireland but I am going home for a week soon and can do a good polish then) http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-dual-action-polisher/das-6-dual-action-polisher/prod_519.html what is the best polisher compound to use prior to a wax, like the Japanese stuff you mentioned? is that much better than carlack?
  21. so a 2012 ISF (just an example) will cost how much to tax in 2017? sorry I am confused, the new rates (cars registered in 2017) don't say how much older cars will be taxed at.
