  1. ls430 is a smashing car. whatever colour badge.
  2. erm, not my taste. The car looks great without it ! The blue ones on the new Lexus are used on hybrids or something I think. thats way off from a hybrid :p
  3. certainly looks peaceful and liveable, unlike London.
  4. bit of a difference between track rod ends and a whole steering assembly.! good luck with car, 50k miles is nothing.
  5. Didnt think Legacy's were bad, at all? Thats news to me. I was contemplating a 3.0R for a bit. They are petrol, N/A and Japanese. They might use some oil but buy and large should be pretty bullet proof. For 5k you would get a pretty decent one. A 2.4 Accord might be worth a shot, I had one before the Lexus. Bomb proof, as they are.
  6. read this before, only 1 BT phone can be connected at any one time or something like that.
  7. I would get a different car tbh then, I would not get a diesel lexus just for the image or looks. Just my opinion! A subaru legacy for instance would be a good car, can get them in 2 litres and it won't break down.
  8. my tax is mental, but I would rather pay double the tax and drive this over any diesel tbh. Head gaskets don't go in a 250, unless it has been driven to the moon and back with no servicing?
  9. 09 on AT for 20k and a nice 11 reg for 28k. how is it even possible to tax and insure a car that is written off, am i missing something here, does the dvla not scrap and void the chassis number? confused.com
  10. is all about the miles, 22k is a lot of them. If you do the miles you say you do it may be worth a shot! thing is the is250 is pretty economical too, especially on motorways where you can get high 30s mpg. You need to balance things up, since I had my car bought just over a year ago all I had to change was a water pump, which is a known issue on them at around 50k miles. I think you should take a 250 and a 220d for a drive and see how you feel, you will be spending most time and money on this investment after all.
  11. This is from a petrol, should still work however. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-SAT-NAV-SATELLITE-NAVIGATION-SCREEN/141711672044?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D32479%26meid%3D9fd6cf9dbb4447798751c19d67f02f3e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D221820910993&rt=nc
  12. this is cheap enough http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS220-IS250-SAT-NAV-GPS-HEAD-UNIT-RADIO-DVD-CD-FIT-2005-2012-86111-53070-/221820910993?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item33a58e7d91 the petrol and diesel differ in that the petrol uses auto recirculate, the diesel does not have a smog filter. You have a diesel so doesnt matter to you. :p
  13. i think he cant get his disc out with a non functional unit, i could help you if you were close by. I would buy that module on my photo on the previous page and see does that work.
  14. Did you buy this from a garage, ? I would not be happy with this car based on your comments if it was a Honda civic, definitely would not be pleased with a top spec lexus. The air pressure BTW looks OK, think 36/38 psi is recommended rate up to 100mph or something. Tyres are different front and back as pointed out so you can't swap.
  15. what year is that? can anyone confirm what month in 2010 did mech LSDs come into effect on Fs?
  16. nice, a F in Ireland. How rare will that be. What year?
  17. there is a 09 on autotrader now for 19k ish, I am not in the market but that's pretty tempting. I want a 2010 model and its next year I am eying up, not in any rush.
  18. This sat nav is very good, It has pretty much everything anyone could need.
  19. London is a dump, I would sooner live in a 70s volvo converted into a living headquarters than move there. I can just about put up with it for a weekend visit but actually working there. Think you need you head checked.
  20. He must have a few dozen world records now, I cant stick him personally, whenever i saw him he was attempting a new world record. He seemed full of himself. I gave up watching him a few years ago and I usually love this stuff.! If he got a haircut itself i might get over him. Him being a mechanic, I am not sure I would trust him to take a truck engine apart and put it back together again, I think mechanic to him is putting a 500cc dirt bike engine into a go kart. correct me if I am wrong.
  21. well, i sent a firm worded email (followed by a letter to be posted monday) to the property owners here. They are aware of the situation but it has not got this bad until a 3rd car has taken vacancy of a bay behind me. I am pretty certain no one will be able to safely park my car on my designated bay as it stands. (Anyone in or around this area welcome to try! need to sign a damage form first :p) I gave her 3 options to take and said I hope its resolved by the time I am back from holiday in a few weeks time. a- find me an alternative bay b- liaise with owners of a smaller car who is willing to swap places (highly unlikely, who wants my parking bay) c- do construction around my bay to make a family sized car park freely and safely. clearly the kerb/hedge has to go. I dont care about a hedge/kerb and some grass. I want to park my car They have ample time to sort this out and I previously told them remove the kerb which they did not. to me its pretty clear cut, as it stands the owners are violating my contract as my parking space which is on my agreement is not serving its purpose. My car is also at risk of being vandalised or damaged as it is not in a designated bay. If they don't act upon the above 3 steps they can expect a solicitors letter. I told them they are welcome to call over any work say after 6 when its usually full and try park my car without damaging it. As for contractual breach tickets I get, I said I am going to keep them and send them back to the people issuing them along with a copy of this letter. (I already appealed ticket #1 i received on the website appeal section) At the end of the day the parking spaces in this place are brutal, a 10 year old child could do a better job. That is not my fault. Property developers need to use some brains designing places from the outset, several bays are far too small and cars are in too close to each other.
