  1. you dont really need a is250 from a Lexus dealer, as long as it has a detailed service record there is little difference between a private seller and a Lexus dealer. Aside from the Lexus dealer one costing considerably more.
  2. have you tried unlocking the fob twice, the first press unlocks the drivers door and the subsequent press opens the other doors.
  3. my AC is always on, as mentioned above be careful with the door cover on the pollen filter.
  4. sell it when you get it back and buy a petrol, you wont be seeing a garage again.
  5. no, not that i am aware, only when you increase revs (through the gear changes.)
  6. 1 hour is cutting it pretty fine, unless you have a reason to get it replaced so quickly. Its more like a 2 or 3 hour job in reality. The screen has different part numbers also, I had to get a second one before it worked.
  7. I wasnt aware no one had these installed, tbh I could not drive the car without it, it is like a nissan almera then.
  8. clearly no one knows how good this sounds, let me record this from the engine bay at the weekend. as for the cost, 200 odd quid doesn't seem much to me, for a part that lasts a life time and makes a fantastic v6 come alive.
  9. has anyone ever heard a K&N typhoon on a is2150? Doesn't sound like anyone else has one.
  10. You wont ever get tired of the sound from this, its not a big expense and makes a big difference.
  11. Plus its a horrible Toyota diesel engine shoe horned into a Lexus, that in itself should set alarm bells ringing.
  12. I don't think the 250 is as bad on petrol as people make out. I recently done a 1100 mile trip to Ireland and averaged 32mpg, that's with alot of spirited driving.
  13. If you don't know the pitfalls with a 220d I would strongly advise not to buy one.
  14. buy a is250.. :doggy: thats high enough milage but probably normal for a diesel. They have caused so much problems I dont get why people still want them, maybe thats just me.
  15. them additives are not going to give improved mpg, they 'might' clean out internals and keep the Lexus purring smoothly but will hardly increase mpg. I drove 1,100 miles to Ireland just recently, computer read average 34.3 MPG. As for the noise, put on a CAI, or Typhoon intake. That does make a noise above 4k rpm....
  16. I put the 12v to 5v buck xconverter under the doom thing (that holds the intrusion alarm). Spliced into rear view mirror to get 12V feed https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/MriyXYX4Iy65Y4lOCdBSGVpraJ6Ys4enb6ob8m-7xG9xYaieMne5IXFrG5tgaHxX0nHvwRuBeNlIwoDWqnbes8p5CMZF0EsLGq89Auj_YDHc3b8g0MVaJXmZO97PzxE5gGpi2lzF-64nFaXJNvG6Gyc9PE7BMmak0tlG0tfg_hFua2a2zW-slKs0kDR14GbhN0mXLxdD5n_NXUmiR-4j7zxGrXCZJZF5rlpj9SEmBlWCr6oBFUTj5H8AsEFs_wvKY2Rw1dsfpxQl_Oc4Wxv3JyN7SBBo7q0TdgzNMw9ROegfhV5y8G4vn0K-6pTg5KJ_ooWHDIuIewRgejyZ1GNQgTpCyECL5793fpJSjyULCMCWwFYB7qtXRhN1kTLEncNBED2Aavt3rKkZQxYsM_9Fuv-S3oD3vwNLxaReaibWALJm9HND1-8VqygDOPv5wgqPV16Tp_ffP7hnf_5jzCuiwAdoyMyhCF5_S3w957zUwrTah54GNQO2F2qDCAnuv-OnaZ9mxxgkhFPKkKnuExDG3iFt80bkqBFvb5ZjtgR1RHWgY9oPyjTqj8-9guC45kEsRG-YdQ=w3285-h1848-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/wpuNirh9Sqy8abkbjJw5_8-XrTL-fSwH4nmWbqqfgcOkrutwvTZ2YOxYRAQ66w4XSRfNFhSc-6eFoptDgwEIC62DtU1Gch7jrypuY1egXaKmG0ZsannSsU4qg77zbiA3ecXmWgzr2zLLOKxL6av2wn2jmRTaBu20VapriDI0KG0f2RTY9dayCLHE840lyAq3RJozaaXEYj8vngFrVWxnES7DAAGBmfHhDoGuQt5L6c3ASQgqKuvgOd0GQiyoGZmRNGNecZjSuQBheNpjP92mtLNlqko72-tOZxlncx0jKKQ-noYP4kcy6pgSmO0d6YRtG_-iArR4lyh7oG2zJfuBQWw-eXqedPg3DyHO34tXS8m9z0XJuO5UExd4ZRdH3NR6GcfZe1W0MwbIE1Q1xSlZtWCF80NvbQKKr3DjO1kkbqjwWAT1kXfGpj1G3pOd2k4ONHRXf1f9QWp4jVoUwZXZtquz6yRTS7qe9ofsLzbVjzoSGLacCwcJaejhqWDrCBgK4aivMofUcoQyfRLhgdbeRfahyJwaBEzvUxMuzebxCSFfzkyJgl_0h_QHL6y2MwhivyaT8w=w3285-h1848-no
  17. yeah, i done it. easy enough, use a volt meter to check voltages.
  18. SEL spec has much more than a basic 5 series, plus your maintenance and servicing will be restricted to popping open the filler cap and putting petrol in.
  19. Your missing the point, the pop-up hood is to PROTECT people been hit by the car NOT you.But sadly like many VW owners, no one these days seems to care about anyone but themselves. So what if my VW filling the air with NO, it doesn't bother me...Isn't it great how selfish we all can be :) As pointed out by others and most recently the 5k figure below, I think I'll settle for protection for myself until such a time as pop up hoods are more refined and will not cause you to be without a car for that long never mind the costs involved. Whether insurance pays or not is irrelevant, in fact I don't think I would want a car that has that much repair work carried out on it back again.
  20. I echo all that. I don't skimp on maintenance and I always look at safety and the more air bags the better. But I draw the line at pop up hoods as I don't think they are refined enough, it's been discussed here enough. I don't need hassle of getting pop up hoods replaced or fixed if they inadvertently go off, indeed if they go off doing their job they still would be a pain in the butt with getting the car repaired. It will probably have a record on its file as being in an accident for example and will knock a sizable chunk of its resale value? So, I'm out. I am happy enough with twin chamber air bags, 10 or so others and all the traction control, snow mode and etc. That's safe enough for me.
  21. guess any big cc engine will need twice the amount of oil of normal cars, i need 6 litres or something so usually need an extra litre on top of the larger one.
  22. thats terrible, as soon as i see shiiiite tyres I walk away.
  23. what oil does an F take, its news to me that you need to pay £140 which seems ridiculous, castrol edge not worthy?
  24. A missing exhaust tip would probably be the tip of the iceberg with that car...
