  1. you probably dont have the right tool, plus you wont get it off lying on the ground. I am sure I said that before....
  2. there is no way this is ECU related, blindly changing ECUs is nuts as John said. Why on earth would you go changing ECUs. Out of interest, my car has been fantastically reliable in the almost 2 years of ownership but on one occasion that VSC light came on, it was when I removed the air intake sensor during my intake install. A quick battery disconnect later and all was well.
  3. you will need to get that on a ramp, to exert more force. Are you doing this lying on the ground?
  4. last summer I had the same problem with my oil change, put up exactly the same post. My oil removal tool got stuck also. You need the correct removal tool for this, with the correct number of notches. I had to get my car to my mate back home who had a ramp, he took off the stuck on removal tool and used the correct one to take the housing off. You are dead right in saying its a balls up by toyota/lexus in designing that oil sump/filter housing.
  5. you could also take a feed from the dome housing, I have a dc-dc converter there and wire up along the mirror. Have posted several pictures on here.
  6. dont know what he was trying to achieve myself, short of ripping off the entire sat nav unit looking for usb ports in the back.
  7. as what John said, a cheapo OBD scanner wont let you change settings, such as when door locks open etc.
  8. ***** put a sock in it, loads of 2008 ISFs have been about.
  9. lots of 2008 ish ones for sale, prices roughly the same. Nothing new there. 2010+ are the ones to keep an eye out for
  10. FSport pedals. A moonroof i never really had a need for. Once you have climate control.
  11. My car is black and looks great, people who know these car will seek ones with whatever spec is within their budget. Ones with HIDs and a ML unit tend to cost more.
  12. dont think its worth or possible to retro fit, certainly easier to get a car with it from the outset. It was an optional extra on all IS cars, and being over £3k not every car has it, hence it being rare on used cars.
  13. The Mark Levinson amp could have more oomph, or Watts but its still a very very good unit itself and it compliments the is250 very well with the speaker array. There is a centre speaker on the Mark Levinson cars - middle of dashboard. If you don't have the speaker you don't have it.
  14. Mark Levinson is awesome, it has built in sensors in the front and rear also remember with the Nav interface. I take you don't have it? Black or dark colours are terrible to keep clean but look fantastic after some polishing.
  15. you wont have amp in the boot, that amp is for the ML. It will involve a lot of wiring as you need more speakers and I doubt the existing loom is adequate.
  16. Id rather walk across the sahara than drive into London, Its not just the Lexus sat nav. Many other cars have sat navs that leave a lot to be desired.
  17. well that's a different thing isn't it, I said bog standard and you can get them cheaper if you don't want the extras, and the extras are well worth having. The Mark Levinson setup was over £3k optional extra remember.
  18. why cant people enter post codes, do they not know how to use it? under town you can enter a post code. After the first number of the second part of the post code it will ask for street and house number. Takes less than a minute, and with TMC the road works and detours is quite good.
  19. well clearly he is looking for a while, not a hope will he get all that for 6k. A bog standard Lexus is250 perhaps, but with HID and Mark Levinson/Rear Camera and sub 70k miles, doubt it.
  20. mine is manual but i doubt you will get what you want for 6k.
  21. dude you have an aux socket inside the arm wrest, anker do high output 2.4A chargers, Problem solved - cig lighter next to aux i mean. https://goo.gl/photos/JrPFvNH1bcEf9TUv7
