  1. you don't need to do a 'reset' on petrol, its all in the service book. You can put notifications on the sat nav maintenance menu also.
  2. mine has mpg , dont think you need to do anything other than record the service in the log book. As people here pointed out, me included you need the correct fitting socket to change the oil, good job in the end however.
  3. i would give that a miss, too much unknowns. Gap in the service is not good at all, and god knows when it was last looked after. the tax being so crazy in Ireland large cc cars can be sitting for.......years btw I am Irish also, they dont have 'SEL' spec in Ireland as such, not the one we have in the uk. It looks like SEL minus Leather, as pointed out. Its certainly not a bad car at all, but the large gaps in service would put me off, if you do purchase set aside a nice purse of money for upkeep. My 2008 SEL 250 has this much. memory seats, both sides- cant be programmed to key fob also electric seats, with lumbar both sides. 13 way adjust or something. 17" alloys - standard Lexus not them hideous ones! Mark Levinson upgrade w/rear camera (upgrade option) Parking sensors f /r Bluetooth, hands free Auto Lights, Auto Wipers Adaptive HID lights Auto Dimming Side Mirrors Auto Dimming rear view mirror Heat / Cool vented leather seats Rear Electric Blind
  4. stick it up on AT, for sale due to dog issues, Dog is Number 1 says the missus. good luck with the sale.
  5. The is250 is a petrol, and can be revved high into the band range, through every gear so you are much much more involved in the driving experience. Its definitely not a out and out sports car but is more than able to keep up with most cars on the road. Its been done to the death on this site and many others about 220d and its reliability.
  6. you do know that the mini 0806 can be taken off in a few seconds., even when its not removed it is hardly visible compared to other monstrosity's out there.
  7. very well so, you clearly are on top of things. this is my hard wired install
  8. not doubting that at all, how can you get bored of a ISF after 4 months, unless you have access to vast funds it seems unlikely.
  9. sounds a bit iffy, 4 months. I have my 250 almost 2 years and have itchy feet.
  10. even with highly used oil I cant see a petrol lexus blowing up.
  11. It would help if you explained how you are proposing or how you have hooked up your camera? or what camera you have.
  12. not surprising really is it.... BMWs are way over rated.
  13. is the service book stamped by Lexus? Its a very reliable car so I don't expect you to be seeing a garage much, I only ever had to do oil changes in my car since I bought it in June 2014. I did replace the water pump just as a precaution, its worth keeping an eye on that too, but its not a big nor expensive job to do.
  14. interesting point that....does petrol degrade? I use shell v power every time, my engine going like a train so i see no reason to stop using it.
  15. 300H way over his budget, plus it has a CVT transmission, if you want to lose the feeling of actually driving a car a CVT box might be for you., otherwise get a proper auto or manual box.
  16. There are bad, terrible drivers out there. People have dash cams because they think they are better drivers themselves and in the event of an accident occurring it will be on camera. Of course there is always a chance of the owner themselves causing an accident but i would rather have one installed in any event.
  17. You could get my car for less than 7k But you don't want a manual. is250.pdf
  18. True. It's why I take no notice of tax and enjoy or try to enjoy driving for what it is. Likewise with fuel, I only use premium unleaded fuel as I believe it's better for the engine. Certainly it seems to be doing my car no harm going by the lack of garage visits. Tax in my homeland is a few thousand euros a year for a is250...
  19. like I was saying previously, might not be complete crap after all. I don't get why people fret about road tax so much, whats a few hundred pounds either way? we pay taxes for everything in life. Shahpor " And your idea that petrol manuals are rarer cause of tax reasons COULD be complete crap. Perhaps it is because the majority of people do think the auto is better than the manual? " -
  20. how did we end up talking 330d BMWs A Lexus is250 I would get. You get far more toys for your money, low maintenance in general. BMWs way over rated.
  21. you are constantly having a jibe at manuals, (London driving, low miles >>> manual sir) you even have a dig at me for saying I never drove a diesel 220, seriously? anyone who understands the slightest thing about automotive knows the 220d is a terrible car, what transmission it has is irrelevant, i don't think its in a auto but who cares. Some people actually like manuals., do you think I would be still driving my car almost 2 years later, and like I said I am in stop start traffic practically every day. Anyway, the salesman you mentioned would not be in a job if he did not say the Lexus auto was the one to get, he needs sales to make a living. Used is250s with manuals are pretty thin on the ground.
