  2. As mentioned above 55W is considerably higher output than OEM, they would probably do more harm than good. You should check your existing bulb or lenses as stock HIDs on a is250 are among the best out there on any car.
  3. Must be something wrong with your lights? IS250 HIDs are very good, better than what was on my Accord.
  4. I think all the is250 v is220D comparisons are mentioned because they look identical, so all the merits are between these two marques alone. I would never entertain the thought of driving a diesel after being in a 250 for so long, if you do mainly motorway driving the petrol is almost as economical as the diesel anyway.
  5. Don't know why people buy 220Ds, I was washing my car last week after this mishap, there was a 220D about 20 feet away from me and the rattle from it was terrible. I find it odd people buying them as it can only be for cheaper tax reasons, economy vs a petrol are marginal and we know about the reliability.
  6. wise choice IMO, I would rather wait for the right car than make a haste purchase.
  7. if that car is a lemon, and from what I have read I have no reason to see why its not. You can easily put about £2k into it (or more) parts for a is250 are not cheap. Discs, shocks, plugs... etc etc. As pointed out they need to be used. Low milage is not always good, more often than not its detrimental to a cars health. Probably needs tyres too from sitting idle, chuck in about £150 for a corner on the rears alone.
  8. I did consider a F Sport exhaust, from the USA but decided against it., wisely I think.
  9. I travel where ever for cars, I don't get people restricting themselves to a distinct area for a sizable purchase, second to a house/mortgage a car is probably your single highest investment, it it worth travelling for one? hell yes.
  10. Get a K&N typhoon, the difference is like night and day over the stock filter. Around town its perfectly normal but when you get into ca. 4k rpm it lets out a very satisfying growl, and get increasingly louder depending on the pressure on your right foot. :), I am shocked that no one else on here seems to have them.
  11. i have these, excellent bulbs http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/D4S-OSRAM-Cool-Blue-Intense-12V-35W-5000K-Xenon-HID-Lamp.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiA6bq2BRC6ppf0_83Z1YIBEiQAgPYNvWf0CoGVnMrXmjYloX_dGTPLgKt08fSnN0yMGv7hSKsaAqtU8P8HAQ
  12. 1080p is full hd, the 0806 has this spec I use 2560 x 1080 @ 30fps, which is very good quality. cinema mode 2560*1080px (21:9) 30fps normal mode 2304*1296px (16:9) 30fps sport mode 1920*1080px (16:9) 45fps HDR mode 1920*1080px (16:9) 30fps sport mode 1280*720px (16:9) 60fps economical mode 1280*720px (16:9) 30fps H.264 code MOV format seamless loop recording mute recording GPS data stamping, time stamping, driver number stamping motion detection parking guard LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) FCWS (Forward Collision Warning System)
  13. on second thoughts it does look great and it matches the OEM fitting as pointed out, how is the quality compared to the 0806? I have mine on the highest resolution and it takes great footage.
  14. Has anyone been to the 'ring' ? I have seen videos like this one. Makes it so easy but in reality one mishap and you could be looking at it as an expensive trip.
  15. apologies, I picked up your comment wrong. It might be from the way the photo was took that makes it out more obstructive. do you remove your camera when you leave the car Steve?
  16. hmm, not too sure how discreet that is? you commented on mine being obstructive? mine is hardly visible from my drivers side behind the mirror.
  17. a is300h will be faster around a track that a is250? How do you think this will work out, have you seen the upper speed of the is300h? hardly earth shattering. You will no doubt respond to everything else i will post, getting tedious. I wont be in a 'manual' soon, everyone has different aspirations. I know enough about cars to tell me a CVT is not what I want, in the same way I know neither is a 220D FWIW, The article said this also (its not the only article i read about the is300h that mentioned its transmission mind you) 'Pity it’s linked to a CVT rather than a slick six-speed manual then '
  18. you are only getting yourself confused here (is300h better than a GTR, sorry...what), if I put up a link of my car going through the gears you could clearly 'hear' it was more involving that the is300h you have. I need to find out a way to get my dash cam shoehorned into the engine, for the real benefit of as manual is you are in control of the dynamics. The auto boxes used in the is250 and ISF are fantastic, but I don't want a auto is250, its no better than what I have right now. I would be pretty confident my is250 would easily do a lap of the ring faster than a is300h, cars like a ISF and high end performance cars will blow away a is300h.
  19. indeed, battery power is fantastic, (I know enough about them as I have worked in battery design for a number of years). Once the battery energy is lost the car reverts back to its natural habitat, the ICE. Over the Nuremberg i would say the is250 would trump the is300h. That mid range start stop boost will be not much use there.
  20. 8 speed sport direct shift in isf, 6 speed multi clutch in is250. These are advanced auto boxes and have alot of complexity.
  21. If the 300h is as good as you say take it to the ring, it would not get good times. I've not considered a 300h as my next car. Clearly it was a ISF or something along the lines of that. I like the feeling of being involved in the driving experience, the CVT cars like a 300h might be for some people but not me.
  22. 300h has a cvt box, which I don't want. The car I want next is 5L+. That is large cc. I don't even think 2499cc is large or exclusively merits a auto. Loads of cars in or around this capacity have manuals. Auto boxes in cars like isfs and big mercs are entirely different ball game. They will also leave cars like a 300h for dust.
  23. Whatever magazine seems to be of a different opinion http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/long-term-tests/lexus/lexus-is300h-hybrid-2014-long-term-test-review/ Manuals have been used for a long time in high performance cars, a CVT will never get the driver involved like a manual can. I want a V8 as my next car, the is250 has given me the taste for higher performance (and luxury) and I want to keep it that way. in terms of speed, the top speed of the 300h leaves a lot to be desired, 0-60 is pretty pedestrian too, not much better than a is250.
  24. Ive never seen one but its look great and must be great not seeing loads of them about.
