A k&n typhoon is totally different than a replaceable filter. The typhoon as I said about a dozen times now has a huge improvement on noise so you can hear the v6 more easily more important throttle response is much better. All in all its like a different car.
in summary I don't think its wise to retrofit ACC,even if you were to somehow get it done, its a critical feature and if you had an accident insurers would probably void your policy anyway.
Its a very good thing to have also, I noticed the CL55 I am getting in a week did not have auto fold mirrors - I mentioned it to the dealer and he sat inside and activated it from the menu, was chuffed to see them fold themselves.
Retrofitting adaptive cruise control I would hazard a guess its going to be arduous task, better of selling what you have a buying something with it standard.
My IS250 sold today at asking price, buyer paid deposit after a test drive. Hope I wont regret this, guess I can always get another Lexus in the future.
35W is standard, anyone who puts in 55W bulbs is stupid, all you need a decent bulbs. Osrams are as good as any, I never heard of morimoto bulbs.
55W bulbs too would be illegal I would imagine and if you had an accident, good luck.
Will keep you updated on it! I dont think I every bought a car so quickly but my gut instinct was to buy it. 3 owners and all the service book was stamped by MB garages and in the last few year by MB specialists, from looking inside it I could clearly see it was looked after. Rear tyres absolutely gigantic, thankfully they were replaced last October.
for the love of god dont get a diesel, for long trips the petrol is just as good on petrol as the diesel anyway. I would advise you take a drive in both, you will soon make your mind up.
Never said I wouldn't get an auto :p, I had a drive in CL55, seamless gear shifts, incredible torque, shifts are quicker than CL500.
Long term review will tell all I guess but it certainly looks every part the 120k car it cost originally.
So, I will shortly be the owner of this fine specimen. The Lexus has been fantastic, probably the best car I owned in my long list of motors. Felt like a change and this will certainly up the ante. I dont usually purchase a car so quickly but the seller and the car itself on this occasion ticked all the boxes.
