  1. My dash cam on my old is250 was wired into the rear view mirror, not very difficult to do and pretty much out of sight, out of mind.
  2. thats the correct answer. most new gadgets require 2.4A. This is a good 50W USB hub https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-PowerDrive-5-Port-Charging-iPhone/dp/B00OUK0N26
  3. i would look else where tbh, 2006 with that milage, a good chance you will end up putting far more money into the car than you bargaiend for and the price you are seeing it for now might just be false economy.
  4. Good luck if you would drive that car repaired, its alot more than 2 doors. The whole structural body and pillars are most likely fubared. If it was crashed again after a repair like you said, in the same situation most likely the OP would not be creating this thread.
  5. without being an expert, I would say the car is a definate write off with serious structural damage, even repired it would never be quite right. hope you get a good pay out.
  6. if it has not been looked after, yes you can. Lexus are wonderful cars but not immune to poor servicing or upkeep.
  7. LS430 and CL55K AMGs are a bit different, you could buy quite a few LS430s for 1 decent CL55. I will say that economy on a CL55... put the foot down and see the needle drop (in real time)
  8. Be careful with a CL55 AMGs, I had one. Amazing cars but you will be looking at spending well over 10k for one that will not break you.
  9. 102k miles is high milage, i wont ask how much you got it for but i would gather on the cheap side, you need to realise these cars are expensive to maintain and upkeep.
  10. I had a manual 2 years and found no problems with it, change the gear box oil anyway for starters, has the car a decent service record? if not you better get a good mechanic local to you.
  11. my 2008 manual (sold a good bit ago) never had rattle on start up, no crunchy gear changes either. Milage was 65k or so
  12. not played that video, will do tomorrow (doubt its as good as my boxer flat 6 though. ) , dont see the whole point of messing about with sound creator things myself, why not stick on an induction kit and get it done with. Its my reasoning on this topic. The car looks very well anyway, sound creator or not.
  13. not a fan of people putting on twin tail pipes on cars that dont have them or people who have diesel cars pretending they had petrols, not a fan of fake v6 sounds either even more crazy since you have a v6. The IS250 is so well insulated the engine is barely audible, the K&N Typhoon really wakes the car up above 4k rpm and makes a great noise whilst still being relatively tame around town.
  14. has anyone here actually installed a K&N Typhoon as I am astounded that no one seems to have one.
  15. mind you, i commend the OP here as that Lexus indeed does look great, I would pretty much leave it at that. I never did buy another IS250 as I wanted more horses, putting on a CAI on the IS250 is really a no brainer though.
  16. most of these golfs are diesels too, if they drivers of them cars think they are cool, everyone else thinks they are eejits i would imagine.
  17. I think you need to get off your high horse a bit., i think this thread is pretty much done here. shame really as it was quite an interesting topic. now, excuse me I need to contact my chauffeur to collect my la farrari.
  18. you will be telling us you forked out for your Rolex in hard cash next.
  19. most cars you see on the roads are on a finance shchem one way or another. There is nothing wrong with getting a car on finance, anyway its not like you need to get finance for the entire cost of the car, you can always chip in with 10k or whatever yourself and get finance for the rest.
  20. How many people have threads on google about lpg conversions on a IS250? might give you some clue about this. I think the I250 is extremetly economical for a V6, if you find it too bad on juice you can always sell it and buy another car, probaly wont be as good as a Lexus ,but......
  21. dont think you need them, i think I enquired about this when I went to France with my is250.
  22. if you mainly do short trips you are better off shot of it and buy a is250. Someone had to say it! You should probably consider selling it while it still in resonably -ish usable condition.
