  1. just seen the OP got a 220d, good luck with it! nice colour
  2. if you like being 'connected' to the car a Lexus is not for you, I sold my is250 for just that reason - now in a SpecB Legacy which is far more driver orientated. Regarding the 220d, I would steer well clear the is250 is a billion times better if you want a Lexus.
  3. or use ms one drive as you have done, or samsung cloud, google drive, synology NAS account... many options but ones where you actually own the cloud space, not some third party.
  4. leave the Autowatch Ghost application running in the background with Bluetooth enabled and you can drive conveniently and securely. interesting, what happense if your iphone runs dead and BT is lost? not having an Android app a bit silly.
  5. well, i broke mine in a haste so all my own fault. There really should be a <!> sticker on that saying read user manual for replacement instructions. You are not meant to force that flap out of the way which is what most people do that leads to the servo arm breaking.
  6. i had an almighty job fixing that broken servo arm, ***** almighty. If Lexus broke that i would be shocked.
  7. brutal, ridiculous things. Its why i sent them back, plus way too much lighting at the back with brakes on.
  8. They just dont suit a Lexus, like someone said make the rear end a bit too busy with all the lights. Its a no from me, your car looks fine without em.
  9. I was going to fit them reflectors on my old 250, returned them to the seller in the end. A sure way to destroy the Lexus IMO.
  10. 140 miles each way, no thanks. Driving in the UK for me is nothing short of a painful nightmare. Appaling roads, terrible drivers, road works, speed cameras....
  11. dont parking in f***ing luton again for ***** sake, and the police, well they are a waste of time. if you are doing 5 over the limit they are all over you but for vandalism and such they basically wash their hands. hope you get it fixed up.
  12. N.Ireland is terrible for 2nd hand car selection, most punters from there go to England for a car purchase, or even to the South where bargains can be had for large cc petrols.
  13. admitting to doing almost double the national speed limit is a lengthy ban, not very clever. As for the positive vibes on 220Ds, i will still pass up. I have heard the engine ticking over on these at idle and its not a pretty sight.
  14. crazy money, used car prices are nuts in mainland europe (and scandanivia it seems) much better than a 220d though.
  15. they dont make em like they used to, thats for sure. Now the order of the day is COGs reduction.
  16. a 220d would make it an adventure alright, for all the wrong reasons.
  17. go for it, I get where you are at, the ls430 is a different ball game to the is250 and 20 miles a day is bang on the money. If you get a tidy example i would just do it. tbh cars like the ls430 are legendary in terms of build quality and craftsmanship, even more modern marques fail to meet the level Lexus reached with these cars, the styling definately shows its age but if you can set that aside you have presidential quality driving to enjoy daily.
  18. clearly you know nothing about the 220d, its a Lexus with a Toyota agricultural D4D engine So not really a Lexus at all, there is a reason they pulled the plug on it. The is250 is far superiour, the one posted above on AT looks a bargain in retrospect, it even has the ML soundsystem. If you think these are cheap attractive premium cars to buy (going by the cost of the 220d) you need to be aware servicing is going to be expensive so before you take the plunge these are not Vauxhall Corsas to run. The link to the 250 looks good but be prepared to throw more money on it but it will still be far better than any 220d.
  19. better off buying a wheelbarrow tbh. if you somehow end up taking that car to Greece I want to see a photo.
  20. buy all the parts, take to a local indy. Plugs and oil wont break the bank. crazy to take that to Lexus
  21. interesting, I had a is250 and considered the Legend and never bought one mainly due to any nasty surprises (talking repair cost), I currently own a 3.0R Spec B Legacy and its terrific, really understated car with unbelievable road handling, Reliability is a given if you can suck up rather uninspiring looks and rather heavy fuel consumption its well worth a drive, 0-60 in a tad over 6 seconds means its more than fast enough for me. A Maseratti is most likely going to break your bank, and you need to set aside a sizable chunk of money for keeping it on the road, it WILL break down. A 370Z I also funnily enough looked at, I love Japanese cars cant beat them, The 370Z is rare but a bit too small for me. I briefly had a CL55 AMG for about a month before I handed it back to the dealer as it was a mare, German cars are great but used they can be a mindfield. ISF and RCs are great if finances allow.
  22. Cars with HIDs are meant to have washers by default, along with self levelling sensors. You dont have HID, so no washers. I dont know the drill in retro fitting HIDs and MOTs.
  23. 38-40 PSI is far too much, especially on junk tyres! I never skimp on tyres, dont get the mentality of people saving a few bob on cheap rubber.
