  1. I agree, to use DAB as a deciding factor in a car purchase is a very poor idea
  2. And they are sponsors of this forum...wow
  3. AFAIK the real ML units have Mark Levinson written on them and the higher end ones mention reference audio / surround You will also have a nice amp in the boot.. which is pretty hard to miss These cars are way better than over rated German tat
  4. 1.569/L x 60 L to fill up my Subaru with VPower just now, that is around the most expensive fill for years - and I live quite remote so the larger cities are probably worse
  5. common, seriously - the chap had extensive NCB and driving a LC500 you can assume a good record. I am not buying it, btw I was also a customer of yours...and left
  6. well screw them and move to someone else - I have done this all the time - insurers have a mandate to screw up customers - that is fine, just move on to someone else, its not like they are holding to to ransom awesome car btw
  7. I would get a SE-L for the ML audio alone, it has navigation built in and the later models are DVD based - it will mention ML in the fascia - high end LS models have the ML reference audio systems which are even better
  8. I dont know is the answer, a remap will or can alter timing and such - the engine should adjust itself for the higher rating tho
  9. As previously mentioned I have only ever used V Power, in my Lexus IS250 I had 6 or 7 years ago and my current 3 litre Subaru - throttle response as pointed out is far sharper and it helps if your ECU is mapped for this fuel also for even better bang for your buck
  10. I agree but I don't have half a million pounds to chuck out on a motor and even if I did a LFA is not a daily car so that's out of the question Actually for sound I think the Maser 4 7 sport GTS would put up a good fight I like a good sounding car and my 6 cylinder Subaru with a power flow cat back and modifications to the air intake sounds fantastic, so no dumbed down 3 or 4 cylinder engines for me, I also believe large NA lumps are less stressed so more reliable which makes sense as less rpm is needed to reach a given speed over a 3 or 4 cylinder engine..
  11. You are on the same page as me on this.. its just something I need to look into is all
  12. Indeed, how anyone can not know what a LSD is... anyway, with 400+bhp and RWD it would be most certainly very beneficial on wet slippery B roads -- or any road, if you don't know what they are you need to drive a car that has one - my Subaru has a torsen unit which is probably the best mechanical type one you can get, the transfer of power between wheels is pretty instantaneous which means its great for changing road conditions. It is rather surprising that the Jag does not have one, I am just a bit weary as going from a Subaru to a RWD monster can be quite the shock
  13. Have looked with interest at the XKRs and in particular the XKR-S of 2008 vintage but no LSD and a torque converter is not really what I want - I am more interested in a ZF box and having a Subaru for over 5 years which handles like crazy I think not having a LSD would probably be a bad thing, especially on winding B roads heck, maybe I should just get a LS460
  14. Sorry to derail this thread but is that Jag the 420bhp version? you have piqued my interest here a bit..
  15. I know what I will get with a LS460 but I want something a bit more exciting, but maybe I don't --- it has a V8 so that is the main thing and the prices are very tempting First time I had a IS250 I remember parking up somewhere and as soon as I stepped out I was startled by the clatter bang sound of a diesel car about 10 feet away, such was the near silence I was used to. I was like, wow welcome to Lexus I would love to go for a drive in the XKR, now you got my mind in a right mess...
  16. What I mean is that I found my IS250 a bit too sedate, the LS460/400 would be in the same league.
  17. A LS400 is off I think, even the LS460 - I want something with a bit more aggression and go before my knees collapse..! Superb cars but I think I will postpone for a few years just yet - I would probably opt for a LS460 over the 400, LS460s are such a good car I did have a Merc CL55 AMG SC for a short lived 4 weeks or so, it was riddled with problems and I got my money back and said screw that I am going back to a Japanese car and got the 3 litre Subaru which is outstanding but that was 5+ years ago
  18. No idea, my Subaru maps are 2014/5 or something - I just suck it up The Navi unit is all integrated so its a bad idea to think of removing it
  19. I am going to get a V8, I just do not know which one... Have been considering LS460 XFR XFR-S Maserati QP So quite a varied list...
