  1. Denying everything is fine, but I prefer to question everything. The mere fact Bill Gates funds the british Government should set alarm bells going off anyway - no matter what his 'noble' cause is - the fact he has shares in pretty much every large bio medical company is irrespective I guess what with Pzizer rolling in 50 Billion profit this year and some reports I read referred to covid as a franchise which said it all. The BBC are funded by the British Government in the same way the climate scaremongering articles are funded by Governments - The director of the BBC is a Tory, let me put this another subtle way, Tim would not swear under oath about the data the BBC were presenting to the nation about covid for over two years - 24/7 non stop. Absolutely no chance whatsoever. Would you walk backwards if told to do so by the Government? Politicians and Governments all over the world are crooked - how else do you think they have disguised covid so well and have got off scott free, and please dont tell me it was about a virus - otherwise I will have to publish the tens of millions of people dying of various diseases around the world each year, of which no body was told previously about.
  2. Them costs are not feasible in the long run, you can fly to Bangkok, get a local flight to Koh Samui and stay in the Nora Buri resort for a week for £3000 and pocket some big change in the process.
  3. wow, that is 126 GBP to fill my car.. You can see where I am going with my previous post.
  4. I cant help but look at this trajectory and imagine how Government's have everything going on track for the UNECE 2030 Development Strategy and New diesel rules coming into effect in weeks is a 'money grab' - costs set to 'skyrocket' NEW DIESEL changes coming within weeks is a "nice money grab" which will see ordinary road users used as a "cash machine", according to angry Express readers. The Governments relentless drive for people to get EVs is absolute - so going back to what I was asked by someone, do Governments have a secret agenda to roll out EVs -- you dont need to be Einstein to figure it out. And its not for the Environment - control and Identity is what they want
  5. You dont believe that Bill Gates funds the British Governnment? This is going off tangent here but ..
  6. The scientists and experts you have read from SAGE and many other about covid with these inaccurate inflated scaremongering figures have been funded - likewise for climate change - it’s this propaganda that has allowed things to end up the way they are - Propaganda. Turn the clock back to 2015... was the world any different than now? it wasn’t - the only difference is what information you are told by government agencies. Like I said a few times, billions of lithium batteries will be mined in the future, tens of billions for cobalt and other minerals, how exactly is this beneficial for the environment? Add the fossil fuels for manufacturing them - EVs are basically moving from mechanical to semiconductor or solid-state devices - TSMC in Taiwan uses as much electricity as three million households every year and it will go up, as will other semiconductor plants around the world to churn out all the ICs needed to make main boards and ICs in the future - More fossil fuel to charge hundreds of millions of EVs around the word....saving the planet. Furthermore, it hasn’t escaped my attention, I don't know about you or others but its alarming how quickly this decommission of combustion cars has occurred - likewise with covid ID schemes passed around getting legal status. There was no public opinion, no voting - nada, it just happened. The governments are not to be trusted, the sleaze and corruption going on among them is rife, and not just in England. If anyone needs to be told they need to open their eyes a bit, Einstein did.
  7. I would sooner trust them than the 'experts' you read about. Governments the world over pay the IPCC and local scientists to spoon feed the scaremongering you are reading - in the same way Bill Gates funds the British Government (and therefore the BBC) so all the covid stuff on the news 24,7 was funded by Gates and big pharma. And before you say where is your tin foil hat -- its a fact. There are FOI requests to the Government and they have admitted such.
  8. Government's done a good job of turning covid 19 into a visa requirement scheme one could say. Politicians are not to be trusted
  9. Simply put, we are being conned. There is no climate change crisis So if there is no crisis why the desperation to get EVs, it's no great coincidence that COVID and this mass panic towards EVs have occurred after the leaders of the leading government's met in New York in 2019 to dish out the sustainability agenda for 2030. It's just that they are not telling you things you are not supposed to know. If you want a balanced view of the environment see what William Happer, (professor of physics at Princeton) or Patrick Moore (ex Greenpeace founder) have got to say. They will say, there is no emergency One of the greatest minds was Einstein, he said he always questioned everything. Do you?
  10. That's well and good but going back to my previous comment, lithium cells like NCA chemistry widely used degrade fastest at around 70-80 percent SoC, so once they reach that capacity it's all downhill and you are not able to reclaim the energy lost, not much use unless you fancy buying used cells at the end of their usable life. Measure the internal resistance of these used batteries, it will have increased considerably..that's your indicator that it's degraded. Kwik fit don't have the expertise or knowledge to deal with batteries, it's not a simple task or getting some AA batteries and whacking them on a charger.
  11. That laughable Mercedes above was a prime example of the future that awaits us, that thing will not last three years before borking up and when it does Mercedes will probably be unable to repair it. You can keep the dash board for your Christmas tree. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/features/s****y-ev-likely-break-banger/
  12. Anything driven by Government’s never has ordinary people in mind, and when Boris said 2030 as the date to ban combustion cars its aligning with the UNECE 2030 sustainability agenda. Which is not pretty reading, world leaders attended a meeting in NY to dish out all this in 2019 and lo and behold we have covid and electric cars all on top of us now. Key drivers for the 2030 agenda. They lied about diesel, they lied about covid. And they are certainly lying about the environment and coercing people to get electric cars and I am pretty sure that governments of the leading nations have billion dollar agreeements with auto manufacturers to roll out these EVs that everyone is forced to get.
  13. Tesla is a successful brand all over North America, marketing its called.
  14. £120k of a car here, how many people will have access to this tech? and good luck getting it repaired - sounds fun Compare the fast charge current at freezing temperatures and at 26C - if you do find a video you will see the difference
  15. Battery maufacturers refer to 'cold' as around 0C, as per my previous post once temp drops below the ambient the capacity of the battery is gradually reduced, you get around 80% full charge capacity at 0C and charge current is dropped accordigly as charging at elevated currents at freezing condition is asking for trouble. I worked with commercial lithium cells from Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, LG and several Tier II suppliers in China like BAK, DLG and Molicel - so certainly not stuff from B&Q. I dont be sticking my nose into forums on the interweb about the effects of drugs on your central nervus system as I dont know anything about it. You get folks here and on other forums frantically googling all the information on EVs and batteries trying to prove a point when in most cases they havent a clue what they are talking about. Which is fine but I think people should do more research on EVs as it seems eveyone is spaced out on how good they are from Governments who are only telling us the good bits, ignoring the fact that around 22 billion lithium batteries will be needing mining from 2030 and 2035 if predicted growth of 30mn cars a year holds firm. Devestating for the environment, but they are not telling you this - nor the fact that fossil fuels charge up most EVs anyway, and assemble them. Governments want people to get EVs as they can control sheep easier.
  16. I know, because I worked with them - if you read my previous posts I said I developed commercial products with lithium batteries, down to and including getting products compliant with regulatory bodies, which I can assure you is not fun. I have visited battery plants all over Asia and S.Korea who manufactured Tier 1 and 2 batteries. I doubt you could understand a datasheet for a lithium battery, if you can somehow understand one you will see you wont get full charge at 0C, it will be around ambient temperature where you get full charge capacity, are temperatute drops so will your full capacity - charge current is reduced accordingly.
  17. You are the fool on here, you cant fast charge batteries in winter top tip Study Electronic Engineering and batteries, visit some battery plants, talk to experts. Thats what I have done Charge current is reduced in cold weather, automatically by your charger, its just that owners, ie dumb people like you dont know what is going on in the background and your vehicle manufacturer doesnt want to burn your house and car down.
  18. you cant, leave the discussuuon to people who actually know what they are talking about, not some idiot who says their BMW i3 still has 100% capacity after several years Do you work for a Government agency? Under fast charging conditions, however, lithium plates on the graphite particles, causing a loss of capacity and introducing a significant safety hazard Lithium Ion: Li-ion can be fast charged from 5°C to 45°C (41 to 113°F). Below 5°C, the charge current should be reduced, and no charging is permitted at freezing temperatures because of the reduced diffusion rates on the anode. During charge, the internal cell resistance causes a slight temperature rise that compensates for some of the cold. The internal resistance of all batteries rises when cold, prolonging charge times noticeably. This also affects discharge performance noticeably with Li-ion. Many battery users are unaware that consumer-grade lithium-ion batteries cannot be charged below 0°C (32°F). Although the pack appears to be charging normally, plating of metallic lithium occurs on the anode during a sub-freezing charge that leads to a permanent degradation in performance and safety. Batteries with lithium plating are more vulnerable to failure if exposed to vibration or other stressful conditions. Advanced chargers (Cadex) prevent charging Li-ion below freezing.
  19. Wouldn't surprise me if LS400/430s outlived EVs.
  20. I won't get anything like that but I can get over 400 which is reasonable for a six cylinder car with permanent AWD
  21. The state of Michigan is installing 200 charge points by the next two years.. whoop whoop, that's for covering 10 million people. California will need 1.5 million EV charging points to sustain an electric state. I hope EVs come with electric heated blankets and a subscription to holiday Inn.
  22. Your battery range will plummet , and when you charge your car in the winter you better have a nice cozy house as it will take hours.. you cannot fast charge in winter, you are too dumb to know anything. So, about your i3, how's the 100 state of charge nowadays?
  23. Tell me something I already know.. people have no idea what they are getting into with EVs. My Subaru had replacement CV boots and a rear caliper over its 132 thousand miles. That is the type of reliable car I want, despite its fuel economy is urban areas it's fine once you stretch your legs and it will go above 30mpg which works with me.
  24. My Subaru does around 16 in town, I just put VED for about year, 600 that cost. Some people want to live a little, no chance will I exchange that Subaru for a Nissan Leaf.
  25. Really, what was wrong with your 335i
