A Lexus LS460 would outlive a EV by years, heck probably a LS400 and ironically would ultimately be more environmentally friendly over its entire life cycle – considering they can do 300k miles plus easily - run one of them to the ground for 10 years and they will out do a EV in terms of saving eco systems, the thing is they will last way longer than 10 years - my Subaru is 14 years old and is purring like a kitten, chomping through MOTs for breakfast, a LS460 is hardly worn in. There is a MY08 LS460 at work as a pool car and I cry each time I go to the mail room seeing it in its state of sadness and neglect, if I had a larger driveway I would most definitely ask the company can I please take it home. An EV would need to do over 90k miles to even break even in terms of paying anything back to the planet, that’s what Volvo said - not Mr Tin Foil Toffee_Pie btw

Soon water wiil be more expensive than E5..😗
-
You wont have to worry as EV cars will be past the sell by date when they reach 100k miles, you might even have contributed something to the environment by then also as a Volvo survey said they are damaging to the einvironment until over 90k miles, you would be lucky to have 50 percent capaicty by then

Predicting wholesale energy prices to plummet and a new forecast of annual bills of less than 4 grand...well maybe not Its a ripe time to buy a V8 but I am hindered in only having a driveway for 2 cars and my Suabru isnt going anywhere and the wife needs a spot

Everyone with stocks and shares has lost over the last few years - unless you by magic have shares in some pharma or energy company. No point looking at pension pots

£1.869/L today, filled up what was left in the tank for £82.87 - thats Shell E5 A bit more tolerable

I have seen many reports of people who get Electric cars to reduce their contribution to greenhouse gases, whatever that means but the folks seem to be happy with the EV they have and it's savings over an combustion engine. But I'm struggling here somewhat as they don't seem to be including the money they spend each month to lease out that EV into the saving, school boy error that. Like the chap who was renting out a flat and had a 50k BMW to reduce his 'emissions'. With inflation soaring these chaps will only end up in the gutter If they keep listening to experts and would be better off ignoring them. That wasn't what I asked however. If you go back and read my question again, it's quite simple with two possible answers. Surely a smart man like you can do that

What are you talking about - you would inject a booster into your eyes if the government in your 'non UK' area said so. I like driving large cc petrol cars as they are refined, reliable, fast and usually have lots of toys and nice AC you can sit back and relax in and not worrying about charging the stupid things up, you can also drive faster for far longer over a EV. You can keep your 4 seconds of 'torque' at the traffic lights, if that makes you happy and 'Vibration' is not really an issue either on a 6 or 8 cylinder car unless you have something else in mind *cough
-
Are you talking to the wall here, I feel for a moment you might be - people do not fix cars - -really. Thats such a pathetic a comment I really dont know where to start but I think the hundreds of millions of auto enthusiast arond the world would disagree - I guess this is a conspiracy also. Your comments on EVs are debatable too Faster - to 60mph? yes, thats the only way they are faster as in ever other real world benchamark they would trail any decent combustion car - sure you can point me towards EVs that cost more than an average house but lets stick to the real world for now - my ageing Subaru would leave a 70k Tesla for dust on a 5 hour journey as I know it wont even be able to finish the trip Cleaner - no tail pipe emissions, ok thats what the BBC and experts tell you - the manufacturing impact says otherwise - and they dont pull these things from trees do they? Combustion engine cars only account for 10 percent or so of global greenhgouse gases anyway and you should hope a single EV doesnt go on fire as that will be very bad for the environment, but good for the fire engines - I think 30 or so were needed to put out a Tesla fire a few years ago Reliable - if they are as reliable as my almost 140k 3 litre Subaru or 300k mile Lexus LS models come back to me, but I know they wont as the battery will have long gone past its usable capacity and if any major parts to be repaired you will need to pay whatever it is the manufacturer will charge you as you wont get one from google - thats why they are a win win for Governments and Auto manufacturers (and Banks but I alreayd mentioned that) Fuel Efficent - this is up for debate also, if you are charging up these with fossile fuels which most will be it depends on what you mean by efficient, with electric costs going the way they are and fast charging costs sky rocketing also not to mention if you drive a EV as fast as I drive you will be charging it up everyday, you could argue your costs would be no worse than a fuel efficent modern petrol car over a year, which would go further on a tank of fuel than a EV would on electric, and you can sit back in a nice cold AC cabin without worrying where a charge point is and your insurance premium will be less.

Going back to the Covid documedntary on the BBC, question. Do you lot who do all the 'likes' think the director of the BBC would swear under oath about ALL the covid data they were presenting to the people of UK? going go for the jugular dive right in to the point. My answer is obviously a no and I would bet my house on it - so that means they basically lied about large chunks of what they were telling the world, its why they block any comments that dont fit the 'rules' - rules that need to meet a certain standard. You dont think they will tell you things they dont want you to know do you? so the 'evidence' wont be got from the BBC, nor the CNN, MSN etc which fall into the same category of mainstream media. Maybe people get upset or annoyed when someone like me gets nosey and sticks my head into these things but as an Engineer I am always probing and asking questions, about everything. You can’t say anything nowadays or you are a conspiracy nutcase - that’s fine by me everyone is entitled to an opinion, in this world of (no) free speech. Covid is a prime example say anything that goes against the mandate and you are some naughty boy, how dare you! please roll up your sleeve like a good boy, this 5th booster will work. promise. xXx - that’s basically the attitude some folks have without even asking any questions - feckless is the word EVs are pretty much more of the same, listen to the Government, listen to the experts - no tail pipe emissions what are you talking about these are amazing for the environment. So wrong but you can’t say anything and they are forced upon people because the great western economies of the world said so. However some folks just cannot be convinced and there is no point saying otherwise
-
There is ample evidence out there, it's just you won't find it on the BBC. This relates to COVID, electric cars, climate change. But you won't be convinced, resistance is futile.
-
So you think everything going on in the world in the last 4 odd years is perfectly normal? Call me a conspiracy theorist but there's too much going on for it to be a coincidence. Electric cars are not beneficial for the environment but very beneficial for governments, my bet is that in 2030 everyone will be asking questions on how it has come to this, we probably will have a central currency in the Western world too. Everything that's been in development since the meeting in Brazil, and no these meetings certainly were not made into widespread news coverage, considering the ramifications I think you should agree that they should have, no? But it's good that you dived into this a bit more however and found out about the WEF and the agenda for 2030, if you keep it up you are likely to get more surprises, like finding out greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles alone or all the terrible COVID articles kept out of the public eye from the BBC
-
You cannnot get through to people like you, do you know how much global pollution is attributed to the automobile? you dont - I know you dont because the BBC are not telling you this so I will - its around 10% give or take so you have a whole series of industries and sources for greenhouse gases, that 10% is globally -- the UK contribution is pretty much neligible, sorry to bring bad conspiracy news. Now in this context banning combustion cars makes no sense whatsoever, nada, zilch. They are reliable and people can fix them and afford them - hence my original question which of course you misunderstood as in 2030 it makes perfect sense to be driving EVs, thats what you are told so you will oblige.
-
There is a very good reaason the WEF meetings were shrouded in secrecy, its not like the Times and BBC were shouting from the roof tops about this stuff - but no thats not setting off alarm bellls either is it because you and others on here never ask questions so will never be convinced on anything other than what they are told by news media and governments and everything else is a lying conspiracy - so you will always be ..sheep, I think is the word.
-
The evil bastards are only telling you what they want you to know - they are clever that way - like taking away people's fereedom without them even realising it needs a special cunning.
-
Hang on a moment, thats not what we are told - 2030 and beyond combustion engines are banned - whats with people unable to suck up some hard cold facts? Politicians are corrupt the world over, thus Governments - whats happening in the world over the last number of years is not possible without huge sums of money exchanging hands, combustion engine cars just cannot get removed from the supply chain like that uinless some remarkable things happen, of course us folks are not told these remarkable things no more are we told what happened to the thousands of macaque monkeys oxford went through with covid vaccines - but there certainly was meetings with the largest automotive company CEOs and leaders of the great western economies to dish out this future Has anyone seen the covid thing on BBC? no me neither but this twitter feed is not surprising My only question to them would be if the director would swear under oath about the data they were presenting to the world over 2 plus years? even the hard core EV, Climate change, net zero, carbon neutral and covid supporters know the answer to that. "UPDATE ABOUT “UNVACCINATED” the “documentary” which I took part in - commissioned by the BBC. Absolute propaganda, as expected. The purpose of the show was not to understand why we’re not vaccinated, but to change our minds :)"
-
I look at the hard facts and they are not quite adding up - so 8.5 Billion profit in 3 months... wow, ok not too shabby what is the energy crisis can we go back driving V8s. BP has reported its biggest quarterly profit for 14 years after oil and gas prices soared. The energy giant saw underlying profits hit $8.45bn (£6.9bn) between April and June - more than triple the amount it made in the same period last year. It comes as typical household energy bills have been forecast to hit more than £3,600 a year this winter

Air crash investigation has a great tag line, in times of crisis question everything until the truth is found out. The problem with the world now is we take face value for everything governments and 'experts' tell us. Which is entirely the wrong way to go about business. If anyone asked the most simple question, how have governments convinced auto manufacturers worth trillions to dump the reliable combustion engine cars they have been making since the 1800s and with the manufacturing process perfected to a tee, all of a sudden for EVs?. This is where money comes in because none of what is going on is possible without money exchanging hands, billions even trillions. The acolytes installed in governments throughout the Western world mentioned here include all the rubbish going on over the last number of years, I am not sure if acolyte is the correct phrase - I would just use mandates https://www.longisland-ny.com/2022/07/28/you-may-think-electric-vehicles-are-bad-but-klaus-schwab-now-wants-to-take-away-your-right-to-even-own-a-car/
-
Funny that they block any questions at all however, it's like your not allowed ask questions eh? Why are they not telling us of the covid payments to families? The obvious question is why are bills so high if oil companies have so much money they can fill the Niagara falls twice over? The BBC are as corrupt as anyone and that's the reason they block comments, if you asked the Tory director to answer covid questions in court under oath do you think he would attend? No chance
-
Yes, so stop listening to experts?

Lies lies lies, these folks struggling to put food on the table it seems Shell and British Gas owner announce billions in profits as UK faces cost of living misery Centrica, the parent company of British Gas, recorded an increase in operating profits to £1.34billion, while Shell saw its profits hit a new all-time high of £9.5billion Shell saw its profits hit a new all-time high of £9.5billion in the second quarter. That smashes the oil giant's previous record quarterly profit of £7.5billion racked up in January to March this year
