  1. I can't hear any V8 burble and its a bit annoying. Do you start it outside the Car?
  2. No Rupert - someone else got them at a good price £4.20. Last minute zoomed in for the kill before I could sign in. Thought for £4 I'd have them as no one was interested until the last few minutes except myself. Frankly I would not buy them with chamfered ends like that at market price. Less area touching is less stopping power, means more pressure needs be exerted and wear out more quickly.
  3. OK so I didn't push my wallet beyond a £4 starting bid for these because I was a bit puzzled by what I saw in the photo's Do they really have shaved areas on the pad? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-LS400-Front-Brake-Pads-/281775767345?
  4. Nice write up. Might like to know how many owners. Written comments of maintenance in service history we could all do that. Last official stamp 2013. Would want to see bills perhaps? Never say no rust. Bodywork paint often immaculate but underside of Japanese cars do rust. Good value? if as good as says - yes imagine so
  5. be good to hear the results -perhaps a short vid?
  6. That second video sounds like the passenger could be oneownercarguy who sells immculate S Class W140's and there is a Vid of him selling a Lexus LS400 ?
  7. Checking the sellers two feedback he sold an LS430 for just £1320 and the buyer left good f/b. Maybe too early?
  8. Lovely - and at the other end of the price scale - with a bit to do to tidy and unknown history but MOT'd till Feb 16 maybe of interest to someone near Derby? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/s71svk-/111742559337?hash=item1a04602469
  9. don't be silly Steve, you know its all about magnets or aluminium sheet twisted into a vortex shape with losenge shaped slits at 45 degrees all round, that gives you that terrific mileage per G, boost.!
  10. I trust Phil that is depart as in one marque for another? Nothing more serious? Lovely looking car how long did you own it?
  11. nice touch in that Ad Brendan "The rear-window shade, power moon-roof, and rear seat vanity mirrors that were optional extras are lovely; the optional rear air conditioner now includes a deodorizer. So if your relatives stink, make sure they sit in back." going back to oriignal car quoted, no furtehr bids and wonder why the crhome strip missing from rear bumper. Brakes I imagine could be issue of non use and calipers seized so discs and pads won't be the only expense.
  12. Sometimes you ask yourself does the person really want to sell the car. OK so it may have problems, at least present it pictorially in the best light. Always wary of private listings on ebay this car looks more like its been beached. Certainly photo'd on neutral ground. Don't they have the key to the door to take a clearer photo of the interior? Why not a few more photo's you can have up to twelve? Two people bravely bidding. Good luck. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Lexus-Ls430-Lpg-Spares-or-Repairs-runs-and-drives-/281768564435?hash=item419ab716d3
  13. My experience with him wan't good - first collect at one place then another, then he'll be in touch. Waste of time I found, but it was exhaust parts I was after. He is a part timer breaking cars. Good luck

  15. I bought my car for that price - same year - same colour. I've spent £2,000 so far in getting it to the state I am happy with and still some way to go. Replacing rustingbrake pipes and tired hoses, and some rust on the underbody. I've said it before, I spent far less on my W140 S Class - but the rust on the Merc was just too much to bear. On Lexus only Drivers side wheel arch bubbling but glad its not that rear wheel arch as that is likely to be more trouble to deal with. They are still great cars for peanuts - but hey doens't everyone moan about spending their hard earned on cars? Funnily enough my own was owned by someone who had a Caravan site - no connection but too much time left over grass.
  16. Personally I like to remove my garnishes, as I find that Seagull poo being lime Sand and Chip Fat just doesn't improve the surface of my paintwork.
  17. "Old Bill" was a creation by the Artist / Soldier Charlie Bairnsfather in the First World War. (He was known as Charile but first name was Bruce)
  18. Hi Colin, Just come off the phone ordering one of those Boots - £11.34 lighter in the wallet, as sent RD. Will put it on the spare just in case. If you have originals and you find you have a tear in one let me know and I'll send you one of the two that I took off my OEM(?)'s Regards Stuart
  19. So, a good job the bully boys on the Lexus forum here have made you look a bit more into the issue and may have saved you from the Skoda ride - although a friend in France goes back and forth to Swansea (800 miles) in his seriously abused (he's a Plasterer) Skoda and loves it. Bully boys in the nicest sense of meaning. Can't see the images and so can you put a complete link in, or should I be doing something else to see the problem part. Daresay it will come my way, he says ominously!
  20. DC176K is the exact size for these Chinese UCA's. I've just removed the original and measured. The two circlips were flimsy wheras getting the OEM ones off was a struggle. Have to find out how much these replacements are. Hope I don't have to order in bulk. Can only assume that the OEM UCA has a stem that is wider at the ball end and then steps down to the narrower size.
  21. Very nice looking LS for sale and with history. An early model. My black Merc could look green or blue depending on the light. Did Lexus make a similar chameleon colour as it does'nt look very green to me. An odd thing. I noticed the expansion tank looks empty and on the display the Radiator symbol is on the Rev counter side whereas on my own with just ignition on, its under the Speedo. Perhaps changed, as my car is '93. Lovely looking engine bay - someone has spent some time on this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-/321821420787?hash=item4aee0d2cf3
