I did notice these today being sold by someone known to the Forum. I do suggest that you check the below link and others. see https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/126515-lexuschap-beware/ No idea if they would fit and quite a long way to go for them and with lockdown I guess a non starter. Not sure if offset would be right and I personally would only pay on collection of them, not up front. Are Couriers allowed to travel between Tiers??? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-X-16-ALLOY-WHEELS-TOYOTA-CROWN-ARISTO-ESTIMA-JDM-LEXUS-GS-LS-SC-300-400-430/303788610736?hash=item46bb3654b0:g:cVsAAOSwvJ9f03wc Nice looking wheels

This ones a bit like Marmite - my offspring hate it. Came to my attention through Nick Barraclough a decade ago on Radio 2 Seems appropriate with the current feelings. https://youtu.be/jEzH6YHrtGo

Congratulations on being a member of the "Beige" Boys club. Its a great colour and rarely looks dirty as my own Car only got washed twice a year at most. Yes EX is Gt Yarmouth registered I think I was told many moons ago. Wings look good. Can use MR2 clear side indicators with a bit of fettling if you want to mess around with its appearance. Wheels, well its a matter of taste. My own are Lexus borbets from some other model.

Good luck with that Allan. I just keep all my clutter in various zip Laptop bags. Weight is only similar to having a toddler in the car. I omitted that I also carry a glass repair kit. Has been needed on both Merc and Lexus for stone chips which frighten the life out of me when something hits the Screen.

And daresay like me you can remember the "opposition" on Motorcycle and sidecar saluting an oncoming Member where a Badge was on the Rad grill. Only salute these days is two fingers! If that was a Red Triumph Roadster with Dicky seat I recall a Mate and I thumbing a lift and sitting in the Dicky from Chelmsford to London in Winter to an overnight party, as teenagers. Bally cold in the Dicky. Funnily, my business partner had been given a Roadster locked away in a Garage for many years. Sadly when he did finally go to retrieve it, it had somehow flown the nest.

Yes, Malc I seem unable to just "risk it" mind you that's probably because on two occasions I've towed a Trailer with a good few Hundred weight on board as well as a packed Car. When the Lexus Alternator failed on the M20 the guy who put us on his pick up Truck said the Car seemed be very heavy. Not wrong, it was stuffed with clutter for the abode in France. I asked what pressure he put into his tyres and he replied 70psi, Wow I thought! I do have UK Breakdwon cover with the Saga insurance policy and Breakdown cover for Europe with a company called first4recovery.co.uk and they helped with the need to get my Car locally back to my French home Garage on a transporter. However, as with most of these sorts of cover the cover was restricted to taking the car to the nearest place it could get fixed. In my case I felt it was too risky to have it towed just 1000 yards to a local Garage as they wouldn't have the part to fix it and it would stand outside for who knows how long as lockdown was talked about- and finally came about. Hopefully it is safe where it is, but it will have to suffer a bit of exposure to the weather as the Garage is doorless as my avatar image.

Errmmmm - Howz about me in August, john? Couple more points - Green Flag won't cover you for Overseas breakdown and I'm not so sure that they even will cover a car of 27 years young, in the UK. Most Breakdowns go to 15 years or younger, I believe. Oh add to the list two Cans of Tyre inflator,Plastic Wheel Chains and Breathalyser battery kit.!
-
I can say "snap" to all those things - and add a 12v Motorcycle Battery in that small compartment where the Fuel cap release is housed and a decent 12v Tyre Pump. (Never use the on board Cigar lighter as likely to blow the fuse) In six years never had to use any of the things but somewhow I have never felt the Lexus was wholly reliable. When it came to the crunch in August none of the kit was useable for the problem. (Oh and because of long journeys I was obliged to add a "Lady drain" or whatever its called for the Memsahib. And as the old Blad being not what it was, and I can't just stand at the roadside waving it about like I've seen the French do so often, it can second for that function) Perhaps I shouldn't admit to this? Ha ha ha!

Steve, Its the blue part which you can see has come adrift. This is a welded part but the "U" shape bracket to which it was welded had deteriorated and was not sufficiently strong enough to re-weld the bar too. The White is a droplink and I've not had to replace the rear. Only the front . The rusty main spar looks bad but we are talking about 5,mm of metal with mainly surface rust. The last MOT did not give me any advisory's so this issue was missed. I have advertised a spare Bar on t'bay as I bought three expecting to use two. Delay in delivery from Japan (and transport /VAT costs is the annoyance if a car needs one replaced and its screwed the window to bring the Car home. Good to have spare just in case. Funnily the nearside seems perfectly OK but I will have it replaced - when it eventiually returns to blighty!! Rather missing the Car. Boohoo!

Yes, it is a depressing as I've not been able to pick up my lexus from France and the prospects look remote before the MOT extension runs out in January. Thanks to Parcel Farce who didn't bother to send me a letter demanding tax and delivery of the awaited part, I missed the vital window of opportunity to travel to France to repair and pick up the Car. Now got to decide if to put my number plate on Retension (supposedly worth more than the Car so I'm told) as chances are I'll have to spend a wad to have the Car trailered home after I've fixed the broken shaft, with it likely being also untaxed and uninsured. Could have done without the loss of this year as health stands. BTW the only other thing worth enjoying on TV is Bangers and Cash. Very irritated by most on TV these days, especially the Ads. Say no more! John, stuff the Corolla manual, not sure Toyota products are all they are cracked up to be. Perhap I should have stuck with Mercedes. The Toy is going OK but I miss the auto box and the feeling you are driving something with presence. Sad indeed.

Around and around it goes the Doc Martin series. Watching the first series - again (what else is there worth watching on TV?) Note that his Silver LS430 has been on SORN since November 2019. Wonder if the actor has a fleet of cars and kept it after upgrading to the LS600. Restricted, so no point in taxing and MOT'ing two or more cars. ps Dont think that air bag would have been too helpful if it went off as shown - a bit late when he was forced into a ditch!

Trying to be thrifty, I used something like these which my mechanic cable tied to the remains of the Gaiters when he replaced my Rear Springs and does the job perfectly well. May have the box in the garage with the exact vehicle they fitted but too cold to explore right now. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Motorcycle-Rubber-Front-Fork-Dust-Cover-Gaiters-Gaitors-Boots-Shock-Absorber/383597054666?hash=item59502a8aca:g:37gAAOSwj1hfM53v

Only once had the yellow light come on in France and worried the life out of me as the nearest Station was quite a long way away. No remaining mileage indicator on my cluster. Not a good idea to wait until the yellow. Seen that mentioned somewhere suggesting crud etc, can block the injectors if it passes through the filter, or increases the chance of the filter becoming blocked. When I replace my own I cut the old filter apart and found nothing to talk about.

Not in touch with todays music and when this was on the TV I had never watched it or followed his performances in any way. Really surprised at just how good he does Elvis. Sad end from what I've since read. Respect for his singing voice.

The worst scenario comes to mind that its leaking into the Gearbox. Don't think your Car had the Valeo Rad that caused so many Cars to leak into the Trannie fluid. Other thing is to smell the exhaust after a short run, just in case its a head gasket leak. Can smell water when its up to temp this way. Happened on an MR2 I owned but not read about any LS with such a problem. I did once have an unexplainable low water level in the LS's expansions tank Half a cup. Always fill with the red stuff or Distilled water, never tap water. Don't know why it happened and yet to test the Car for the higher speed issue that I had before changing the Lambda sensors. Don't know when I'll be able to retrieve the car from France and be sure it had nothing to do with water in the Trannie. Certainly didn't cause any problems at normal speeds.
