  1. Hi Tony, There are two wiper relays I changed the INT one as identified on the relay cover. My symptoms were same as yours. Try swapping the other relay to see if it makes any difference.
  2. Hi Tony, if you look in the thread about wipers stopping I have put the Denso relay part number to search in ebay to find some cheap replacements.
  3. Wiper relays are in engine bay drivers side under brake reservoir in a box about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide
  4. Hi Brian, just input the following into eBay search and a few come up at different prices most around £3 to £6. A little dearer than when I got mine but still not too dear. TOYOTA LEXUS DENSO RELAY 5 PIN BROWN 9098704004 The relays are with the abs relays in a 5 inch relay box in the engine bay on the drivers side just below the brake reservoir. Used a smallish screwdriver to release the catch on the left hand side, relays are on the left. Removed the INT relay as they are plugged in. Hope this helps Bob
  5. Hi Mark, I’ve had my 2013 is300h since it was 6 months old and still love it. My only issues have been the wipers stopping mid screen which was sorted by fitting a second hand relay for £2.50. The only other issue I’ve had are the alloy wheels whIch tended to only last about 2 years before the lacquer starts to flake. Lexus changed the wheels after the first time and refurbished them the second, they have gone again now. It could have been due to the wheels being the nishokku special option which look great when new but may have been flawed as they are discontinued now. Overall the car is great to drive and own. The Lexus dealers I’ve used for servicing have been good, I get the essential care servicing now, which lowers the cost a little. The hybrid battery is guaranteed 15 years if the yearly hybrid test is carried out although I think that is limited to 10000 miles. I have started looking around for my next car but at the moment but I am struggling to find a suitable replacement. As long as you find one with a good history and condition you will be fine.
  6. Had an issue on my is300h where the wipers were stopping mid screen and only way to get them to work was in fast speed on manual. After a bit of research on the forum I changed the wiper relay and that cured the problem. Bought two used from eBay for £5 and have kept the second in reserve just in case but have had no issues since. Not sure you have the same problem but a cheap fix if it is.
  7. Totally agree. My windscreen wipers were stopping mid screen, after consulting the Lexus forum there were a few others with the same problem. Some took their cars to Lexus where the wiper motor was diagnosed as the problem as per the tech flow diagnostic diagrams. The fault remained however and finally the relay was changed and the fault cured. Thanks to others on the is300 forum I obtained a couple of relays for £5 fitted one which cured the fault and kept the second as a spare. We seem to be losing both experience and common sense nowadays and relying on the computer to tell us problem usually at great expense and not looking for the simplest solution.
  8. I have just filled a form in with direct line to give them my weekly mileage during the lockdown. They say they will review and refund within 30 days no indication of what that refund will be though.
  9. Hi James, there has been quite a lot of threads on here now since the lockdown about the 12v battery. Quite a lot of people, me included, are charging it with a ctek charger. I just did mine over the last couple of days. If the car is idle for most of the time the alarm and entry system may slowly deplete the battery. Going for a drive would only partially replenish it so to be safe a full charge would be best.
  10. Maybe we should fit stickers in the Windows ' No Cats are left in this vehicle overnight' might confuse them.
  11. I have just had a reply from lexus preston and they said it was, as Paul said above, a random number of requests to assess performance for improvements in future. This can be carried out at any time and doesn't need a special trip to the dealer.
  12. Just checked mine on the recall checker and I have the same result. It doesn't actually say what the issue is though.
  13. A few of us with the is300h have had the same problem. Found the relay and changed it for one I bought off eBay and be ok ever since.
  14. As well as insects etc, now it's got cooler if the 12v battery dips a little I've had that cause an odd alarm operation. Charging the battery has stopped any further alarms.
  15. A while ago at our local asda someone managed to put petrol in the wrong flap of their smart car. Got in the car and started it and it turned into a fireball. It was only by the quick actions of someone to get them out that they survived. Better signage on cars required maybe?
  16. For info, I and a few others that had the same wiper faults changed the wiper relay which fixed the problem. Got two used relays off eBay for £5 easy to replace and saves a dealer visit.
  17. Tpms warehouse charge about £45 each. If you could get the faulty one off and exchange it for a normal valve temporarily you could read the id code and get them to clone it. When refitted it shouldn't then need programming into the system
  18. My car was fitted with nissokku wheels when I bought it from lexus at 6 months old, a £3000 option new. After two years the lacquer was flaking off and at the annual service I asked them to look at the wheels and advise me what they could do. They spoke to lexus and replaced the wheels. Two years later the same was happening but this time they said they couldn't source new wheels but would refurbish them. Two years on and the paint is coming off again. I find this is the only weakness I have found with my car.
  19. Glad to help Grant, and glad it worked. It's for my is300h but there shouldn't be too much difference.
  20. Not sure if this will work Grant but you can try and open it Nav_Manual.pdf
  21. It's in my navigation manual with a detailed description of how to use the lines and guides to reverse into various positions. Not sure if I can link the pages but I'll have a look.
  22. Hi Grant, I think the boxes you describe are the different ways of parking. One is for parallel parking the other into a bay. This alters the guidelines on the screen.
  23. I tend to charge the 12v battery during winter using my ctek charger. If your battery is showing signs of deterioration after less than a year Roger I too would be concerned. Was it replaced with the correct spec battery
  24. Yes John, apart from the petrol I put in for the original 300 miles of journeys I didn't necessarily need to do. It was on a quarter of a tank when they picked it up for the second test and was on three quarters when brought back, fully valeted again. New certificate for the year and 10000 miles. I am now thinking of scenarios that could have triggerd the fault. The car was stopping and starting as it should and the battery was charging ok.
