  1. My Ux and previous IS comes up with a warning on the screen when low, also the dealer should change the batteries at service time I think it was after 2 years didn’t think it was yearly. I’d leave the battery in the second key but remember to take it with you when you get the car serviced. I changed the batteries in my IS a few times without issues.
  2. Your welcome Dave, there’s lots of experience on these forums which have saved a lot of us trips to the dealerships.
  3. I’d leave one key in the house and try putting the other right over the start button for about 10 seconds see if that works, I think this method is used when the remote battery is low
  4. The other problem with old sensors is they get fragile with age and easily break when, I changed all mine on my 11 year old IS300h last year when I had new tyres and wheels refurbed the fitter said they might break when removing them. Although they shouldn’t remove them on just a tyre swap but they may still be damaged in the process.
  5. Try satnavishop, updated my is300h with the sd card from them and was quick and easy to instal with 2023 maps LEXUS PREMIUM SAT NAV MICRO SD CARD EUROPE 2024-2025 £39.99
  6. Hi Deep, you will need to write down the IDs of the new sensors so you have them before they are fitted and then edit the faulty IDs in Carista. I preprogrammed all 4 of mine to the car via Carista before they were fitted and asked the fitter to fit them to the wheel I wanted them fitting. This meant if a tyre pressure was low on one tyre I would know which one. hope this helps. I think I wrote a more detailed description in one of the previous comments
  7. With the age of the car the tpms batteries are probably getting to the end of their life. I changed mine when I had my IS wheels refurbed and new tyres fitted when it was 10 years old as I didn’t want to disturb the wheels again for a while, ended up changing my car a year later!
  8. Just had mine as well so will need to book it in soon
  9. With the age of the car they will be getting brittle now and also batteries in them will be on the decline in the next couple of years. When I had my 2013 is300h wheels refurbed last year they told me that the sensors will probably break when removing them so I bought new ones to be fitted. I had pre programmed them with the Carista dongle and after an initial reset they worked ok.
  10. Recently bought a UX and due to the distance from the dealership everything was done online. When the car was delivered the service book was missing. I had already asked during the purchasing process about service book, warranty and Lexus assist. Got nothing back from the dealership. I contacted Lexus uk as I thought maybe service books had been discontinued. I received an email from Lexus uk that one would be sent to me by the dealer. This arrived in a couple of days stamped with the service date, whether that was carried out is another question as the car was very low mileage. The questions regarding warranty and Lexus assist were never answered. I sorted the assist out myself by contacting them and after a lot of emails and having to provide proof of ownership they updated my details and confirmed cover until 2026.
  11. I was the same Antti, but I have bit the bullet and swapped to a UX. I was only considering Toyota Corolla or CHR (new shape), Mazda CX30 or Honda (civic or ZRV). I ignored bmw and Volvo due to possible reliability issues. In the end my UX came up and I liked the look and the Takumi spec was the same as my IS Premier with the extra modern (sometimes annoying) safety features. I have done a couple of hundred miles in it now and I am completely happy. The Dunlop runflat tyres are no noisier than the Michelins on my IS. The IS300 was the best car I have had and you are right it is a hard decision to change, the lower end Lexus cars (UX, LBX) are not built quite the same. My old car has been sold within two days of trading it in, somebody has got a really well maintained car for not a lot of money nowadays. Regarding the warranty my last service was before it’s 10th anniversary and 100k miles so actually got 11years. Good look in your search or just keep your IS and enjoy it.
  12. My ‘hey Lexus’ works not too badly but can’t get ‘hey Google’ to work in android auto. Could be my northern accent!
  13. I have just changed from an Is300h that I have had for over 10 years to a UX fsport. My initial worries were, boot was too small, run flat tyre noise too loud so I was a bit nervous about changing. I have had the car for a few days now and have got over the fact I will have to drop the seats to get my golf clubs and trolley in. The run flat Dunlop tyres are quite good not as noisy as I thought not much difference from my Michelin ps 5s on my IS. It has all the get up and go that I need. Coming from the IS the major thing has been all the technology on the car, it has taken me a few days to be happy with my set up but I’ve got there I think. All the new stuff, lane guidance assist and speed warnings etc can be turned off or visual only so that’s ok. All in all I am very pleased with it and also for the 50+ mpg I have just had on my first 60 mile run.
  14. The sensors I bought from lexuspartsdirect were fitted with seals and valve stems just not with the washers and nuts. When I had the wheels refurbed I had new tpms fitted and should have got the the fitting kits as well because the nuts looked older, newer ones would have looked better.
  15. New sensors don’t come with the fitting kits you have to use the old nuts
  16. I have run with a space saver in my is300h boot for about 9 years. I still fitted my golf bag, electric trolley and other bits and pieces in. I have it inside a wheel bag that will fit a full size tyre. Not been much of an issue it’s there for peace of mind and a get you home quicker than waiting for recovery. I have now swapped to a UX and not sure if it would fit that, will have to do some investigation. With all the different sizes of wheels not sure how a recovery could stock all of them
  17. I have had mine just over 10 years it was 6 months old when I bought it. I have loved this car probably more than any other car I have owned. I have now decided to change and I am in the process of buying a ux fsport with Takumi pack. My only issues have been a faulty wiper relay, fixed for £5 (used relay) and a tpms sensor I broke but replaced for free by Lexus. I will miss it and hope the ux is just as dependable and enjoyable.
  18. If the run was for over an hour and could be incorporated in an existing travel plan it would give the battery the same charge, kills two birds with one stone as they say. Or like I said leave it in ready for at least an hour.
  19. See my post above yours, Carista is about £30 now I think. Using that would identify the faulty one by testing as I said above. New tpms sensors are about £75 I think at lexuspartsdirect possible cheaper on eBay. You could get faulty ones fitted at your local tyre place and programme them yourself. You need to make a note of the codes on the sensors to change the IDs before fitting. Looking at the age of the car the batteries might just be starting to fail.
  20. You need to get a battery charger on it, or give the car a good run, leaving it in ‘ready’ mode for an hour will also help.
  21. Mine went off last night twice, I checked the 12v battery voltage and even though it seemed ok I put it on charge as that can be another cause for the alarm going off. I have had insects as well in the past setting it off.
  22. I had mine serviced last year before it’s 10th anniversary and less than 100k and I asked if I get another year of relax warranty and was told yes. When I got the service details it said warranted till 6 September 2024, and I later received an email confirming it with my policy number
  23. When my car was being returned from the last service I received the post service call from the service manager to go through things. I was told all 4 tyres were cracking and would need replacing soon, when I informed the him that the tyres were less than a month old he stuttered and said he was looking at the wrong paperwork. He told me to throw away the paperwork that was in the car and that he would send me the correct paperwork in the post (paperwork was for 2018 NX). It took over two weeks to get the replacement paperwork and even then I don’t think I received all of it, and I had to pester to get that. Quality has certainly dropped
  24. I have had mine serviced at my local Toyota dealership as it’s only 1 mile away as opposed to 30miles away. They have carried out a full service (without the hybrid health check as they won’t/ can’t carry this out, even though it would be the same for a Toyota). Also they have done air con regas and discs and pads renewal. I reverted back to Lexus to have the relax warranty and also they pick up and return my car. The Lexus dealership is the same franchise as my local Toyota and have Toyota dealership in the same building so probably the same workshop, so which mechanics will carry out the routine maintenance, I can make a guess? They also have an over 10 year maintenance price for Lexus which I can’t see at sole Lexus dealers.
