  1. Agree. I’m not too keen on the black wheels, mirror covers and headlamp glass. I’d also much rather have the 17” wheels with tyre repair kit. Think if these make me unsure, I probably won’t have one and challenge dealer to get me a good deal on UX with Premium pack plus. Dealer also tells me - built-in Nav is auto updated for life of vehicle?
  2. Exciting! This will be the first new car I’ve bought for myself. I’ve had lease cars new, but never brand new for myself. I’ll try to give you my immediate thoughts after the test drive, but realise it takes weeks; if not months to get used to a car. I’m also a little confused. I would have thought base UX with Premium plus pack fitted would be cheaper than Premium Sport? Dealer tells me absolutely not the case?? Might do some ground work on this later.
  3. 😬. I was initially thinking used, but a new deal on Premium Sport spec was very good - I think. 🤔. My test drive was put off until tomorrow, so will have a better idea of pros and cons after tomorrow. One major concern are the run flats. However, was speaking to a tyre garage we use for work and they stated they can be plugged for punctures - providing they’re not the gel type? Premium Sport is fitted with 18” Run flats. Nothing is certain yet, so will see what tomorrow brings. 😉
  4. Hi all, Been a member on this site a few years until recently. Owned a CT, but part-exchanged it for a Toyota C-HR last year. I'm now in the process of buying a New UX Premium Sport. Always wanted to move back to Lexus since parting with my CT, so looks like this may be the time I'll do it. Dealer has kindly loaned me a UX for 24 hours on Wednesday - just to confirm I'm happy with seating and general comfort etc. I've already paid an holding deposit. I'm aware that mpg won't be as good as the C-HR and entertainment system is.........pretty crap to average. Car is also on Run flats, so no repair kit or Space saver ( and no option to fit either ). Boot also looks a bit smaller than my C-HR, but not too fussed as there is only 2 of us. So, do you guys have any thoughts on my purchase regarding spec or generally about the UX? Got the car for £28,000. £30,500 retail, then £2500 Lexus deposit allowance. Seen some 12 month-old used for not far off that price, so deal looks like a good one. Look forward to any comments, negative or otherwise. TIA.
  5. They are low cars & have to be careful over bumps and on/off drives if they're not flat.
  6. Unfortunately, you have to have it done at "Approved service centre" and one reason I have not renewed my extended warranty. Major service is ~£465 with intermediate ~£295 ( I say appropriately as I haggled parts i didn't want changing plus 10% discount ). I will now have it done locally for £200 and have hybrid check done for £60 at Lexus. Warranty in itself is decent value, but if you factor in servicing costs - it becomes extortionate.
  7. This only applies if you have remote entry on your car. I don't on my SE-L, so button is non-functioning.
  8. It was just a high level overview.......
  9. Thanks all. Think I'll give it a miss and hang on to mine for another few months.
  10. I did say to sales exec that I thought suspension would be too hard. He did say you need to test drive it first. Does premium have same spec?
  11. Regen braking is when the motor/Generator is not in "Demand" mode. It will then either charge battery or when braking reverse its direction of rotation to assist with braking - It is engine braking. The B position is just this but manually selected. Brake pads will last longer, however, if you drive like a F1 driver, they won't last long. Foundation brakes ( Pads & discs ) will be applied when the motor can't apply braking to level required ( foot pressure on brake ). So, to save brakes, drive moderately with soft braking action. Discs though will wear & corrode after 4/5 years on our salted roads.
  12. Only a requirement in US & full electric cars.
  13. TA switched on - you can also select local or national. This will make a difference to what you receive in FM band.
  14. The CT is a fantastic car in most aspects. You do have to compromise though on rear space due to battery package & it being a Compact Tourer ( CT ). If you have a family, it wouldn't be my first choice. There is only 2 of us in ours most of the time, which makes it ideal. As the guys have already stated, Prius, Avensis or RAV4 would be better options for space, but you just can't beat the fact Lexus are a great brand & owning one makes you feel a little bit special. MPG wise - a lot depends on weather. Warmer weather will return you 60 mpg, winter weather 45-50 mpg. Road tax is £0. You also have to consider Dealership satisfaction. My wife has a Juke & must say the dealer is OK, but not a patch on Lexus dealers. Take into account servicing costs also. Lexus prices are fixed and are £295 for intermediate & a whopping £495 for full. Warranty is also only 3 years but 5 years on Hybrid components. You can buy extended warranties 2 for one for £495 over 10 months interest free. These though force you to have your car serviced at a Lexus centre. Car also has low ground clearance, so fully loaded you have to watch opening doors kerbside & like me, on/off my drive which has a hump at top of slope. Car bottoms out when I'm loaded up. Hope this helps.
  15. Hi all, I'm looking to swap my 2011 SE-L with a 64 plate F-Sport. It is the face lifted version, so expect it be a little better with regards to ride. However, being an F-Sport, I would assume ride would be hard any way. I haven't test drove it yet as I'm still haggling on price & trying to get what my car is worth. It does have all the gadgets inc Elec seats with memory function. Any thoughts on F-Sport??
  16. Looks like it's been heavily kerbed. If the rear wheel is visibly out of line, then I would suggest rear suspension links have been bent during the impact. Have you pointed it out to them? If you have any doubts, walk away. Otherwise, ask them to do alignment check & confirm suspension links are OK. I would also ask for 4 new tyres. If you're buying from Lexus, you have a 30-day no quibble money back guarantee.
  17. I always have rev counter permanently set to on. Can't be doing with that ECO meter.
  18. I couldn't imagine myself in anything other than a Lexus. Best rated cars in the world - Official. Good luck with the Merc & Merry Christmas.
  19. Steering knock is a warranty issue. Had mine done 18 months or so ago under warranty. During charcoal filter recall, they gave me an NX. Fantastic car, but like my CT more.
  20. CT's are pads & disks on rear. I've never had this issue on mine & it's now 5 years old. I park on a inclined drive also.
  21. You need to leave HVAC in Auto. It will then decide what is needed via numerous sensors in cabin. If you manually switch to recirc air, your windows will mist up. Use quick demist function until cleared, then switch back to Auto. It the most efficient way of keeping cabin warm/cool and mist free.
  22. Low profile tyre really don't help. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  23. My CT is on 16" wheels and is not so bad. Could do with softening i agree. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  24. I installed a Rexing V series camera in my CT. Front facing only but has many features. Easy to install & playback quality is excellent. Good support also from Rexing if required. Cost £40 from Amazon.
  25. I pulled out of the IS purchase the day after. Had second thoughts regarding new, so will probably leave it until end of the year & look for second-hand 2-tone CT or IS. I really do like the IS, but am very happy with my CT at present.
