  1. Thank you ColinBarber, at least that's a bit of good positive news. The music does, but the sat nav doesnt, have to manually turn it off. :-(
  2. First of all, I'm not an accountant, nor a financial adviser, but..... Fuel card for business miles only should be fine, no need to claim extra mileage per mile. Just need to be able to prove to HMRC (if they ask) that it is for Business miles only, as if for personal miles too, then has tax liability as a BIK. HMRC have royally cocked up my tax code with the change to the Lexus last year, I'm slowly losing the will to live trying to get them to use the correct details.
  3. Some have reported that the software update has reset settings in the infotainment system. Welcome lighting is a setting in the menu I think. Best check.
  4. Yep. I did same trip down M1 today and got 52.2mpg on the trip comp, so roughly 10% less on 18's, which is the brochure difference too.
  5. That is excellent mpg - is your Premier on 18's or the optional 17's? Glad to hear the active cruise works well, I was disappointed you couldn't specify it with any other trim level when I did mine, maybe next time.
  6. Renato - the car seems skittish and unsure of itself if I find myself doing any kind of hard braking. Anything on a slight bend, over uneven road surface, or in mildly damp conditions has the TC/Stability and occasionally the ABS lights flashing on the dash. All places where I previously had complete confidence in my previous cars ability and reactions. Also, I find that trying to modulate brake pressure at the pedal and the expected retardation of the car is hit and miss at best - a given brake pressure one day brings the car to a stop sharp, another day, the car doesn't seem to want to slow up quite so quick, and the change from regen braking to disc/pad can often be accompanied by a lurch and change in pedal pressure. This is if hard or cadence braking. In the few occasions I have had to stop quickly, the car has done so, so I'm sure it is basically fine, but it just does not inspire confidence. I don't think I'm doing anything more than I have done with previous cars, but dealer is implying the car is doing what it needs to respond to how I'm driving it. Searching around on the internet, and Lexus safety systems seem more nannying than other manufacturers - maybe it is nothing - I have no prior basis with the brand. Previous cars from different manufacturers have all needed to be driven like a complete hooligan to have any interaction from the cars systems, so maybe a different expectation is needed.
  7. I've finally got all the popup nav bits showing, it is dependent on having all modes guidance on in voice, so I've enabled but turned the voice to 0. It also needs a reboot or car ignition off/on to change I've found and that is what my issue was, I was doing the changes in this thread whilst driving and not seeing any difference, but turn car off/on and all works as expected. Be interested in what ver G has different.
  8. Well, Lexus have checked the calipers today and the software check about the tc, abs, stability and found.........nothing wrong. Calipers are salt corrosion, they checked the rest of the car and other areas show similar. They've cleaned them, but that's it. Software and systems is all fine too, basically im driving it too hard (implied by the service tech,he could see throttle application and brake pressure tracks recorded in sw) and the car is doing what it needs to. So, we will see, but I've got say any kind of hard braking doesn't inspire any confidence in me.
  9. I'm at Lexus Leicester today to resolve an issue with my IS300h. They have a white RC F with red interior outside and registered as their demo. Looks great in the flesh. Interior is a bit odd though I think, mish mash of textures and materials, blue stitching on alcantara on dash, red stitching on black leather(vinyl?) on doors and black stitching on red leather in seats.
  10. On mine, if you are listening to USB or CD, just press the mode button on the steering wheel when a traffic announcement comes on and it cancels and goes back to USB or CD. It doesn't work when listening to FM, as the announcement is on FM, so it changes the source to something else! Annoying, so I've reverted to doing as you and going up/down on the preset button to go back/cancel.
  11. Simon, did Leicester to London today, 120 miles via Coventry and the M40, wasn't in a hurry so put cruise on and sat at 70mph. Mpg on computer was 47mpg. For a 2.5ltr petrol auto with big fat tyres, that's pretty damn good. Seat all the way to the floor and a 6ft plus person should fit easily. I'm 5'11 and with seat all the way down and back, my feet can't touch the pedals! I came from a diesel, power delivery is different, but it is just as quick, sport mode from a standing start at the traffic lights is rapid, in gear on the motorway is very good too. Plus its so quiet! Get a 24hr test and don't look back.
  12. Tell me about it! :megaangry: The satnav infotainment system is idiosyncratic to say the least, but you get used to it. Version V3101F is latest SW I think. More bug fixes and stability than any changes as far as I can see. Ref, USB - I have an Ipod connected and apart from an occasional crash/lockup, it reconnects and carries on as normal on most re-starts. I have tried a normal 8GB USB stick with folders and files and it worked ok too. Maybe it is related to the actual stick you are using? It is fussy about the format etc, make sure you follow the rules in the manual. Otherwise - enjoy!
  13. bmw have an advanced bluetooth setup option on their pro nav that allows 2 phones connected at once, but it is the exception. You can have 4 phones paired on the Lexus system, but only one connected at any one time.
  14. what software version is the nav in the new cars folks? Current release is F, interested if there has been another.
  15. Not sure it is all Lexus fault this, as the phone manufacturers have a few different methods of integrating sms and email in their phones (not to mention apps) and the various versions of the bluetooth spec and how they work with the phones also cant make it easy to build 1 interface that rules them all! Version F is the current firmware version, but is dealer only. Version D is the last one available on the portal website. F has fixed some of the phone bugs, mine is far more stable generally on F.
  16. not had that issue, but have had a few where i couldnt answer the phone from the car, or it dials but doesnt route the sound through the car speakers. check you are on the latest firmeware, V3101F i think, and if it does it again, press and hold in the volume knob does a system reboot, even while the car is running.
  17. Splatty, good looking motor, glad all sorted now. Dab ensemble is the banding of a number of Dab stations. Press manual and you can scroll through.
  18. Last time the tpms light came on mine, it was on for the whole journey, 2+hrs. There wasn't anything wrong with the tyre, just slightly below pressure.
  19. Ganzoom, have you checked the sound settings on Dab and FM? Checked mine today and FM did not have surround mode turned on. Once on, things sounded much better. Turning off surround on dab shows up the mono reception, as it all comes from the Center speaker.
  20. Lexus servicing looking more and more expensive, when compared to this http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/jaguar/jaguar-launches-servicing-pack-on-xe-for-95-a-year/ That's 5 years /50k for £475 or 5/75k for £659 on the new Jag XE.
  21. I use a Motorola Moto G LTE (Android) connected by Bluetooth and also acting as a wifi hotspot, which the car connects to, to get the traffic data. I'm on version F and it has been rock solid. Service is EE and the data coverage is excellent. I use a small app called AutomateIT, which on Bluetooth connect to the car, disables wifi and enables the wifi hotspot. On disconnect, after a few minutes delay, it turns off the hotspot and wifi back on again.....simples. The previous Samsung GS3 did not like being joined to both at once, and data over bluetooth was hit and miss.
  22. I prefer the DAB sound over FM in my car (no ML), though maybe I'm just used to it. For me, FM sounds woolly, strangled, muffled and almost mono in nature, whereas DAB is clearer, crisper, more open sound, with good balance ad stereo staging. Go figure, maybe more about the user and preferences than the system?
  23. Very nice. Wonder if shark fin is attempt to improve dab and FM signal, some have complained that it is weak. USA cars had shark fin to house Sat radio aerial.
  24. 24p was the HMRC rate up to 1st Dec14, reduced to 23p till 1st March. Potential for extra tax liability if your employer is paying more than the HMRC rate I think.
  25. true, but no surprise there i guess!
