VD12102C - is what mine shows on the Software update screen in general settings now. Was updated a few weeks ago.
-
On mine, even if the engine is hot/battery good, if I press EV button when I start up it will invariably beep and say some message about Ev mode not available and the engine will cut in for at least 30 secs. To be fair I very rarely use the ev button, I find I can get better ev travel using eco mode and a gentle throttle application.

Long shot suggestion......try reseting your password in the portal and changing it in the car, might reset the account etc?!? It is poor that the error codes are cryptic and not explained anywhere I can find. -
Love My Is But Time To Move To Gs

Blacker than a black thing that's black! Looks great, enjoy. I'm off to buy shares in car cleaning product companies, I suspect you'll be forever washing it, lol! -
Mine virtually always runs the engine for at least a short time even if the engine is warm, when started. This is even with a virtually full battery. I've always thought this was normal behaviour but not what I would expect it to do. What model IS have you and how old is it?

(un)connected Services
Steve44 replied to ColinBarber's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
No it is everything and the full reboot hasn't fixed it :( May have to do a complete factory reset on it. It really is a poor system. I have had it where on the old firmware, it stopped working completely after I had mucked about with settings and only a phone unpair/pair did the job. I've found if you were on Bluetooth tethered internet comms and changed to WiFi, or vice versa, it seems to get confused and then doesn't do anything anymore. Deleting the phone connection and starting again seemed to kick it back into life. -

I have had a problem like that before and a full reboot of the nav system (press and hold the volume knob) cured it. Is it just traffic updates that fail? Can you get to Google search, parking info, street view etc? Sometimes it looks like the traffic info server is down or not available, yet other things work fine. -
Caught Out By No Spare

The gunk is single use and, depending on the nature of the puncture, the tyre should be repairable, but the tyre company guys don't like cleaning the gunk out of the tyre as it takes time and is a messy job, so many claim they can't and thus flog you a new tyre. Quicker and more money in it for them. You can push them to do it, but many will complain bitterly . Another alternative would be runflats, but given the vitriol of abuse the guys on the bmw forum give them, not sure it would be worth the expense and sacrfice to ride quality. Couldn't you have rung Lexus breakdown line? -
I wouldnt go that far. Tonight's trip back from Liverpool to Leicester attempting to avoid the M6 and A50 tool me on a grand tour of staffordshire and Derbyshire. Sat Nav didn't perform well. It persisted. In trying to route me along the A50 despite it showing the road closed symbol where the road was actually closed! As I did my own thing it got completely confused and continually rerouted and rerouted etc etc. On the upside, IPod voice nav now works, hurrah! With a hit rate of 1 in 3.......when I speak up of course.

36 here and no regrets. Wife (37), thinks it is the best car she's been in. No mention of old man's car.

Not read anything in this particular forum about ev abuse, I've driven mine pretty hard for 24k miles in 10 months, and it passed its hybrid health check last week as part of its service with flying colours. There have been Toyota Prius cars with 100k miles plus with no issues. There are of course cars with issues too, but no more risk of problems than any other car in my opinion. Parking sensors are a must I'd say as the curvy front of the car makes judging where it stops is pretty difficult from the drivers seat. The cars on motorpoint are all base model SE spec some have extras. I'd go for the the highest spec within your budget of course.

So it is a further upgrade from the G version, mentioned a few months ago? Do you find it very snappy navigating around the unit Tel? If I go into the service/diagnostics menu, there is a Mic Check, with a set of green boxes to red at the end. If i speak normally, with the car stopped, it doesn't even register. I have to shout to get 1 or 2 boxes filled in. Lexus Leic say nothing wrong with it. I think this is the root cause of why my Voice recognition is so poor, it basically responds with absolute garbage, because it hears garbage.
-
I have, they have too, no fault found or so they say.
-
No, didn't lose anything. Voice activation is still crap for me. The mic gain is just too low, I need to shout to make it hear me. not tried the Ipod voice since, might try tomorrow, but voice commands for sat nav and phone are still crap, just doesn't recognise me. It is super speedy though, phone connects instantly, as does WiFi if it is on and configured. navigation through menus is now swift too, no lags.

Continue To Be Impressed By The Is300H.

So what sort of cruising speed were you doing on the non-restricted parts of the M1? Were you in eco mode the whole way? It is a great MPG there. I came back the M1 from Wembley to Leicester last week, having refilled in Wembley and had quite a bit of stationary traffic on the M1 around Luton. The speed restricted parts from the M25 to Milton Keynes helped a lot as did the 50mph roadworks section from J14 to J19. I was in a bit of hurry between, but still averaged 53mpg overall, which I was quite chuffed at. This was in normal mode. -
Great stuff Richard, glad you got it sorted.

Good point Rayaans, forgot about them. Premium nav gets extra centre speaker in dash and rear parcel shelf, making 8 in total. Std non nav had 6.
-
So on the reverse camera, I guess you don't get the different parking options either, ie parallel or perpendicular parking and the different lines on each. Is your Galaxy Mini up to date with the latest Android. Updates? Also, check in the phonebook or people options where the contacts are being stored. Are they all from your Google account, or from the phone, SIM, or elsewhere. Are all the options enabled in the phonebook options on the phone, so all the contacts displayed? When you go to the car and check the contacts options, how many does it show it has transferred? Mine is showing 2002 of 2500. I still get random contacts which appear in the phone and not in the car. This is with various Android phones and I can't determine why. I've also found if you have a contact with more than 4 listed numbers, the car duplicates the contact name and spreads the numbers over both.

Connected services (Lexus portal, Google search, street view, parking search), real time traffic, rear view camera, remote touch interface, all on the premium Nav. You do get a Back button though, one thing I wish they had on the remote touch interface! What phone are you trying to pair?
-
Just had my IS serviced today and they updated the Nav software to latest version. Unit now quotes software version as VC12102C, which is a bit of a departure from VC0301F, which was the previous version. Can't see any extra functionality, but it is super quick, both for navigating about the menu and for doing things like connecting to the phone and WiFi etc. Too early to tell if the stability of things is any better, but we'll see. Does this software version correspond to the Version G that owners had previously, or is it newer again??

My Is300H In-Depth Review
Steve44 replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Sorry Rayaans, I disagree. The Lexus UK brochure states leather seats, not nuluxe, or artificial leather. The F-sport std seats are cloth centers with "Tahara" bolsters, which is effectively vinyl. The seats on the Exec and Premier models are stated as Leather, as are the options on the Luxury and the F Sport. If they were fake, they couldn't call them Leather. it says that in the UK brochure, the price list and on the UK website. -
My Is300H In-Depth Review
Steve44 replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Good review and I agree with most points. I'm pretty sure the leather is mostly leather in the UK though. Nuluxe is for the US market. Some panels might be fake leather (I think my door panels are) but pretty sure my seats are leather, the car smells nice enough. I'd expect the premier to be too. -
Judging Line And Direction
Steve44 replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I think it is because the bottom corner of the windscreen post isn't any where near the outer extremity of the car. The bonnet curves down to the wing which curves out to the wheel arch, all of which is hidden from the drivers view. This is further enhanced on the passenger side, form the drivers position. The wing mirror sitting on the plinth, away from the window and pillar, but not at the edge of the body enhances the effect for me. I can align the car squarely, but have (had?) real trouble judging the distances between the car and the kerb and when squeezing between 2 other cars. More so than any other car I've had before. First car driven which has such an optical illusion!
